Thank you so much for this video. Toshiba needs to stop making TVs because this common issue should NOT be common. It should be resolved and nonexistent. No one purchases a TV to fix problems nor replace it after 3 years. I’m not trying to replace backlights etc.
As a fellow tech i thank you for uploading this video. Very clear instructions and you helped me solve a problem i was having with a Toshiba TV for a friend. I liked and subscribed
The problem with Toshiba tv's is their software. It simply stops working after a few years. That's why they have sound but not image. When I got to make mine work again after plenty of hours of plugging and unplugging it and trying every single method, I rebooted it and it worked well for about 2 months. Now I have the same problem again though. So make sure to reboot them every month to make them perform well if you don't want to buy another tv.
Brilliant video. My tv picture flashes up in full for 1-2 seconds (that would suggest all LEDs are actually working) but then turns black. When the screen is black I can see the picture with a torch, the sound is on too. From your video, it sounds like the T-con is the problem and needs replacing, do you agree?
Hi! Thank you so much for an informative video! My Toshiba tv (U500DU01) is having a problem where the sound and backlight are working, but I get no image. I watched your video and tried replacing both ribbon cables and t con panel but the tv still doesn't work. Interesting thing is, there are two ribbon cables connected to t con board and when I just connect the one on left, half of the screen lights up with vertical lines(no pictures, just colored vertical lines), but when I connect both ribbon cables or just the right side, the screen does not light up at all. I am really not a very tech smart person so not sure what's wrong or what I can do. Any advice from an expert?
TV was working fine one day and the next all I get is a black screen but can hear audio. Does anyone know a fix? Edit: The issue was backlight failure. This seems to be a pretty common probably with Toshiba TV's. It was pretty expensive to fix and I was also worried that the issue might happen again as it seems to be pretty common and we didn't know what was causing the failure (a bad circuit board?) so I did not go ahead with the repair and unfortunately had to purchase a new TV on sale. I would not recommend a Toshiba TV to anyone.
@@naazwansh Unfortunately there is no cheap fix. I took it to a repair guy and the issue was backlight failure. It was pretty expensive to fix so I purchased I new TV on sale instead. It seems to be common in these Toshiba TV's from what I've seen online.
my Toshiba 49L310U has been great since 2015... been living in a high traffic area, been banged around by children, used for many many hours daily, backlight set to almost max, and it finally went blackscreen today... picture is still there, audio is still there, and i can navigate thru all the menu options with a flashlite pointed at the screen. i'm not mad at that. seems well above average to me. and a new backlight set is $25.
Hi, A few questions is this for led tvs. Now I would like to ask my tv just went black screen two days ago everything else working I can hear in the tv. The thing is that there is a button on the back of the tv if i hold this button in it will put the tv red light on. Now when I use the remote to pick a channel to turn tv on I get a 2 second flash showing toshiba on my screen then blacklight.
Mine is a DLP and I don't know what you mean by backlight It has a lamp in it You don't comment anything but lamp You just say backlight are they the same thing
My issue when I power on my Toshiba model number 52xv645u tv on I have video for about 10 sec then screen go black have audio. Every time I turn my TV off and back on I will have video for about 10 sec turn it off back on video than go black with audio

Funny you say that mine did it basically right at 3 years it’s stupid
@@diesfastest6667Funny you say that as well, mine just happened today after 3 years! Never buying Toshiba again.
Mines just went out. 3 years and 4 days later. They need to be sued. I'm so pissed
Screw Toshiba. They deserve to go out of business.
Exact 3 years 😮 they made them that why ?

Mine is doing the same thing. Did you try to fix it?
Hello. Replacing the LED strips does not make sense to me. How could all of the LEDs go bad at the same time?
