    I'm a power lifter and fitness trainer I've been eating pasta and rice for over 50 years I'm muscular I'm not fat. I'm 67 years old, I don't have diabetes and I'm healthy. People eat too much sugar and trans fat more than pasta and rice

    There is new science that cook your carbs like pasta, rice, potatoes and then refrigerate them 24 hours then warm them and the glycemic index drops half! So if you want to eat carbs think a day before cook and then warm and eat. Of course weight gain comes from grazing all day long. You need to stop eating from 6 or 7 pm at night. If your first meal is at 2 or 4 pm you can eat a healthy meal you will end up losing rather than gaining. Plus when you intermittent fast when you eat your first meal your taste buds just spark and you can taste your food and won’t over eat. If your meal is going to be carbs make them freee them then warm them and eat them a little but guilt free.

      I read an article about “resistant starch” where freezing rice, breads, potatoes reduces its glycemic index.

      the study i've seen shows that it's a very small effect, only a little bit of the starch becomes resistant

    I do agree that the portion amount of pasta we eat is important. But… in Italy, they don’t have any of the illegal chemicals in their pasta like we do in the U.S.

    Just eat the damn pasta lol make your portions smaller and have grapes after if you're still hungry. Chicken and broccoli is also great with pasta. Just eat it!!

    In italy they eat 100 grams of pasta per person. Also they quality of pasta is Italy is better, which you can buy here but it cost more. Which people look at the price before their health.
    Also they use Sea Salt!
    Aldente is very important

    Use authentic Italian pasta that doesn't make you gain weight. Italians know slot more about food bc of Hippocrates. He taught them everything they know. He was a literal genius.

    It is also important that true pasta should never be “enriched “

    This is nonsense, I like my pasta al dente, but what matters for weight control is portion size and adding plenty of veggies to fill up. Also don't add a ton of (🧀 ( cheese or Alfredo sauce.

    Wholegrain pasta is better for you and portion control is key

    • @Jigmaster55
      @Jigmaster55 Місяць тому

      Whole grain pasta is not better. And portion control, does not work. I tried portion control for about 4 months. It is not sustainable. I was always hungry. There's no such thing as an essential carbohydrate.

    • @melindaroop1346

      @@Jigmaster55You are WRONG! It is better for you unless you have a sensitivity to it and portion control has worked for many people. It just isn't for everyone. And carbohydrates are essential. I actually have a background in nutrition and fitness.

    • @Jigmaster55
      @Jigmaster55 25 днів тому

      @@melindaroop1346 sorry but I'm not wrong. I did portion control along with carbohydrates for a while. I lost weight at first, but then I slowly started gaining the weight back. Carbohydrates turn to sugar, which in turn makes you tired later in the day. Whole grains might not turn to sugar as fast, but it will still turn to sugar. The only carbs that are essential are fruit and raw honey. I was pre-diabetic. I gave up pasta, bread, crackers, cereal, oats, whole grains, pizza, desserts, rice. I've been eating meat, dairy, fruit, and vegetables. After giving up those carbs, I went back for a checkup about 5 weeks later, and my blood sugar was absolutely perfect. As well as my blood pressure. The doctor couldn't believe how perfect my numbers were. Our ancestors thrived thousands of years ago on meat, fruits and vegetables. They didn't thrive on pasta, bread, rice, crackers. There's a documentary on UA-cam called fat fiction. Watch it, and you will be shocked about how many lies we were told over the years about nutrition. I have way more energy since eating meat, and fat from eggs, butter, olive oil, cheese, unsweetened full-fat yogurt, cream, . There's also a book called lies my doctor told me. Doctors and most nutritionists, are not taught proper nutrition. The food pyramid that we were taught years ago, is nothing but a big lie. Carbs, sugar, smoking, and stress are the four silent killers. Along with seed oils and artificial sweeteners. Just because you have a background in nutrition, doesn't mean you were taught the right way about nutrition.
