Yes, purchasing a good quality driver set made all the difference in the world for me in making things so much easier. What once was anxiety producing, the fear of stripping or damaging a screw, has now become pleasurable endeavor.
Yes, thank you so much. I have been looking over this on the internet for hours, and I didn’t find any. Thank you so much! I am so happy. Also, could you please make more iPhone restoration videos?
I’ve never repaired an iPhone, I’ve taken the screen off of one, sure. But I tried to remove a battery from a bent iPhone SE, lets just say there was smoke
Was about to say good luck until I realized it was 3 years ago. Anyways, how did the repair go? Were you successful? And are you still repairing phones?
@@oof8756 huh that was 3 years ago, pretty wild Yeah the repair went fine, I still own the phone I repaired and yeah I still repair phones, although I stick to older iPhones

5 on-point points! One question tho, is the Crazy branded batteries that you always use good? They seem to have higher battery capacity than the original iPhone batteries.
Great points dude. I am so glad leaving the battery connected was number one. I paid $120 to ship an iPhone 6 to get the backlight repaired. USPS lost my package for a whole 3 weeks. Lots of time AND money was wasted.
Thanks for the advice, but I am wondering about the screen. It may be an obvious answer, but is it fine to use a screen from a different iphone instead of getting a new screen? Screens are just way too expensive to me. I found a 5 USD iphone 6 that doesn't work, but has a good screen
PreeNinja hi replace my iPhone 7 screen now I’m getting apple bootlop ( apple sign flashing) / battery charging sign i was charging the phone but the battery wasn’t charging?
Thanks Hugh , this video teaches me a lot how to avoid those mistakes. I hope I don’t making same mistakes to my iPhone 5S since I failed to repair the LCD screen twice and the home button three times...

hi Hugh, great videos, was wondering what you think of these housing from aliexpress "iphone 5 5G 5S Back Middle Frame Chassis Full Housing Assembly Battery Cover Door Rear with Flex Cable" as a beginner would these be ok to use? or could you make a video using one of these. keep up the good work!!
Hi Hugh i love your content and i want to try doing your work by myself, so i hope you read that! I will be very interested to see a tutorial or just a video of how to start repairing, what iphones to buy, how to know its not a scam, how much it cost to start, from where to buy parts and everything else, i really enjoy your work, love❤
When I repaired my iPhone 6 by replacing the screen, I put a long screw in to secure the home button bracket. It's perfect other than having a tiny hole next to the home button that's barely noticable and looks like a screen protector bubble after realizing my mistake and putting the screw where it actually belonged.
I often use an eighteen slot white empty "egg carton" for holding the screws .. easy to see background holder .. and setting the various parts next to the appropriate spot on the carton, or .. in the carton itself with the designated screws .. keeps them organized as well. Cheers ..........
I wonder after you put everything back into the iPhone but forgot to plug the battery flex cable on the logic board, then you plug in the lightning power cable to the iPhone, what will it happen? Will the power source fired the logic board or anything else?
2:08 Oh ugh. I had to deal with having those, and would usually keep the plastic pry tools for when I want to take apart devices for fun and don't want to damage the nicer blue ones included with my iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit, but you seem to have way more of those cheap things and seem to just toss them in a box. *In my opinion, I would avoid getting a specific part if it includes any or all of those cheap tools without a way to omit them.* I know iFixit provides a subset of their toolkits when customers choose to include tools with the purchases of their repair kits, and actually has an option to omit those tools and pay less, so I won't be surprised if that "Crazy" you shop at also provides a similar option.
Hi Hugh, I am going to start doing iPhone motherboard repairs here in Perth mainly as a hobby, like no back light, not charging, not turning on, no display, no touch etc...would this help you with some of your other phones that need more than parts swapping?
I think I have the issue with not organizing screw I tried to take apart the original PlayStation and messed it up because of the screws being in the wrong spot
Hey bro, when you’re taking a breath, cut those out to avoid pauses. You’re video quality is great already but UA-cam watchers like me who’s tech savvy too would notice those small things :) keep up the great work!! Love from New York USA
The battery tabs... I did broke both of them when replacing the battery of an iPhone 6. I removed the taptic engine. However I was lucky enough, with some tweezers, I managed to grab both broken tabs and removed them all the way.
I probably make all of these. 😂😩 #5 nope #4 yes I do. #3 yeah i do that, I need to get better. #2 I tried but still broke 1 on each. #1 i actually don't do that. Not too bad actually.
i have an old iPhone plastic black backed not sure what model one of the first i just found it today and was wondering if you would be interested in it for your collection as i have no use for it.
Deacon Taylor First attempt on my battery swap I got the adhesive off just fine but I messed up putting on new adhesive so I got some double sided tape and used that instead.
Man, should of seen this video before doing a teardown on my sisters broken Iphone SE. I broke the battery adhesive strips and it made it a huge pain in the ass to remove the battery.
So I recently purchased a iPhone 6 off of eBay for 35 dollars. It had a smashed screen and wouldn’t turn on. So I fixed it up with the help of a few of your videos. I got the phone fully functional and brand new. But apparently it is iCloud locked and I don’t know what to do. I contacted the seller and he would not respond. If you read this comment I would really like to be able to unlock this phone if you know of any tricks to bypassing it.
Here’s my issue, I replaced my iPhone 6s plus battery and when i was removing the display connectors I forget to remove the battery and somehow I touched the camera connector so it shortened and some sparks shows, after that the back camera didn’t work nd shows black screen , also the flashlight, so can it be fixed? Replacing the actual camera can fix this issue?? Any help !
Hey I have a question I have a IPhone X previously I had an iPhone 6 Plus and I have a SD card reader doesn’t seem to be recognized on iPhone X do you think this is a software issue my wife also has the new iPhone ex same thing with hers I have the old iPhone 6 and it works just fine any suggestions
I have made all these mistakes apart from no.1 and the problem was i tore the battery connector and even on an iPhone 5 if the plastic adhesive remover thing is brittle then i have found it will break (Removing that was a pain i had no tools and used a butter knife from school)
Hi friend I am watching your videos on youtube and I appreciate your work on the phones. I want to ask you if you can help me with iphone 7 icloud locked. Is there any way to unlock that phone? I have watched a lot UA-cam videos about this topic and there are some guys promising that if i jailbreak the phone or change the firmware with custom one it’ll be unlocked. I don’t want to change the motherboard and if there is way to unlock the phone i need to know. Thank you for your answer and help and also for nice videos you make.
Hello @Hugh Jeffreys , i have 1 question for you , i have 1 iphone 5s 16 gb and when i put the phone on charge dont charge only show me 'charged' some times charge like 30-40 % but no more . what is the problem ?
Just because I work inside of iPhone repairs,I’ll let u know on the trick, grab the battery tabs and wrap it around tweezers and pulling away towards the edge of the battery, causing less tension on the adhesive.
I hate it when the tabs break, makes the job a lot longer then it should be plus i do not want to puncher the battery. If you do puncher it you will not have a fun time with the smoke and smell. Discounting the battery is good to do, but I only do it when it is an iPhone 6S and above they are just a lot more sensitive. The 6 and below you will be fine just do not work one the phone while it is on.
Also do not damage the home button cable or home button if you have an iPhone 8 or below because you can’t use Touch ID if you damage that cable,Personally I use Touch ID all the time because it’s inconvenient to enter passwords so I securely store them in the “Passwords And Accounts” section in Settings and AutoFill my passwords using my fingerprint and I also use it to unlock my iPhone because my password is very long
I work at a repair shop and people come to get their screens replaced and a lot of those people had broken and had it replaced before idk why or how screws come up missing from the last repair they did
I need to repair an iPod touch 5th Generation. It has been water damaged. Can you make a video about repairing an iPod touch 5th Gen with water damage?

do you use an anti-static wrist strap during repairs?
