I LOVED me some of The Cult music as a young adult! One of my favorite bands of all time...until I saw them in concert during the 1990-93 era, while I was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. The Cult F**ckin' sucked live in concert when they played live in San Diego! I was so disappointed! I have seen a lot of shows in my lifetime and sound wise, their show was one of the worst. Their sound was soooo distorted and unbalanced! All guitar, nothing else. You couldn't even hear Ian sing. They really need to do themselves a favor: throw away their egos while playing in concert. Anyway, the best part of the concert? Watching Lenny Kravitz's opening act for their show. He TOTALLY blew them away!
Ugh a West facing stage means that the sun is in the band's eyes the whole time. I'll bet they hated that! It also means the concert lighting does nothing until the sun 🌅 goes below the horizon. Glad to see them still rocking. Loved them since the 80s! 🎶🤘🏻
They sound impeccable for such a classic band. No backing tracks, Billy tearing it up and Ian still belting it out. Awesome bassist and drummer too. Really great audio quality for the music on this! What did you film it with, or what phone?
This was on an iPhone 8, I think I was fortunate they played this time of day, I filmed some other bands late at night and my phone camera had issues with lighting because it is older. The Cult sounded so good here, and this was the one band I wanted to see from the weekend. It was very special to me. Thanks for watching this!
They didn't play it. The only song they played off Sonic Temple was Sun King. I did notice they played stuff from every album early in their career, up until about Sonic Temple, with a couple more recent songs.
@@tglip24 Yeah, I wonder if there was a reason, sometimes bands do that to focus on other songs. I was surprised, but I didn't mind with the rest of the set.
The Cult stood out compared to some of the bands I saw this festival--Kim Dracula was the worst offender, it really took me out of the performance. The Cult I was vibing every second.
One of the best bands have seen live. I love these guys.
they were incredible
Thanks John From The 916
Thank you my friend.
One of the greatest bands every formed.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!
@@HonRevPTB They are the best.❤❤
@@ratter531 Yes they are, I think is second only to Elvis Presley as far as his voice and moves go, and Billy Duffy is an ICON!!!!!!!
Absolutely.

Thank you, I enjoyed this a ton.
Seen them twice on this tour.....give them $100 anytime they're close. Stellar band.
Truly stole the show this day. Legends.
I love Ion and always will❤

@@TheRealJohn916 So happy to see them live 6th of august 2024, The rockshow was sold out in7 minutes
Sun King. What a great song. Reminds me of my youth 😊 Duffy is a great player
They rocked this hard. Dilly Duffy is an underrated guitar legend. True rock star.
They're still powerful!!
This was the one band I really wanted to see. So glad I caught this set. They still rule.
@@TheRealJohn916Where was this? What state?
@@HonRevPTB This is in Sacramento, California. They were third or fourth on the bill this day.
@@TheRealJohn916 Thanks!!!
@@HonRevPTB You are very welcome!
Mi banda favorita!!!quiero que vuelvan a la argentina❤
Thank you!!
Nice I used to love the Cult. Good to see older bands performing.
This was the band I was most happy about seeing
Ugh a West facing stage means that the sun is in the band's eyes the whole time. I'll bet they hated that!
It also means the concert lighting does nothing until the sun 🌅 goes below the horizon.
Glad to see them still rocking. Loved them since the 80s! 🎶🤘🏻
Yeah both the main stages were west facing, the stage under I-5 was too. The only stage that wasn't was the DWP Presents stage.
Mi grupo favorito❤
I was so happy I got to see them. They are a special band.
Thank you! Muito obrigado 🇧🇷
You're welcome !
Ian is Tripping right along 😂😂 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
He sounded great, loved this set.
Tempesta switching up his fills in Rain. Excellent.
Yeah, I noticed that.
THE THREE PC BAND THAT ECLIPS RUSH AND IAM SORRY TO SAY ZZ TOP

They need to be on at night with full light show, day shows for big bands suck
They were I think third of fourth on the bill for this day, but I enjoyed this time of day, but I hear what you're saying.
I'll take "The Witch" over "Fire Woman" all day long! Killer set list! (Delicious!)
They tried to get a lot of their catalog in there, I enjoyed it.
Duffys tone is fkn savage.
Ian Astbury once said he was one of the few people not afraid to play guitar with force, love this band, so glad I saw this set.
Seen them open for aerosmith in 2001, they sounded better than the headliner.
Truly one of the all time great bands of hard rock.
he was a royal helicopter mechanic(fleet)
I did not know this !!!
43:21 I disagree with Ian's assessment, Billy is definitely a Hufflepuff not Slytherin LOL
Oh I could see that.
Sweet Soul Sister? American Horse?
They didn't play those.
No Fire Woman?
They didn't play it. The only song they played off Sonic Temple was Sun King. I did notice they played stuff from every album early in their career, up until about Sonic Temple, with a couple more recent songs.
It's weird they dropped it from their setlist this year. Biggest hit in the US.
@@tglip24 Yeah, I wonder if there was a reason, sometimes bands do that to focus on other songs. I was surprised, but I didn't mind with the rest of the set.
But, they played Spiritwalker!!!!love that tune and adore the Dreamtime album
I've hung with Ian.....Cool cat.....Short as f....k
😅😅😅
That's so cool, explains why he wears boots a lot.
que pasa con Ian? canta sin ganas ya... parece david lee roth. Solo suena la banda. que decepcion!!!
backing tracks sucks, love this band👍👍👍all natural music
