First review I've seen of the updated Ibiza. I'm currently researching my next lease car and this looks to be a winner. The lease deals that I see on all SEAT's are amazing. Great video, thanks
It’s nice to see small cars getting a lot of tech, the ibiza looks quite a smart small car. A very well presented video too, lots of relevant info without any of the waffle you can sometimes get in car reviews, well done.

A nice amount of tech in a reasonably priced small car. A great way for Seat to go that they have kept a manual gearbox and handbrake, great offering for a first car and even for instructors for a learner car. Great review as always Tish 👏

Very nice review, this is the first UK review I’ve found on the new Ibiza! Honestly prefer the previous model though, just got a 66 plate Ibiza FR Tech and love it so far.

A good video. I have an Ibiza at the moment. I agree on everything you said except for the bit about motorway driving. The car is totally fine for motorway driving. You do NOT need to drive an extreme high performance car if you go on the motorway. The max speed you can do is 70 MPH anyway.
It does the job.
I had a Gti never went fast on motorway as too many cameras no point these days

I took out an FR Sport and yes it was tricky filming under the flight path 😂 Amber lakes was stunning though. I think these still represent really good value. Like yourself I was really surprised with rear space - and raved about the physical climate controls. I had a Formentor for a week and found the touch ones frustrating. Good review as usual.
When you check cars boot space always see if it can take a spare wheel as this is a practical thing to carry
Just bought a 69 plate Fr not a bad little runabout nippy fun to drive looks smart

Great video, Tish! I always enjoy watching videos about cars that aren’t sold here in the US. The Ibiza seems to be a pretty decent little car. The interior doesn’t seem too cheap, (apart from the weird seats and those tacky red air vent surrounds) and the tech is impressive. I know that 95hp is probably enough for that, but for me I know it just isn’t enough; and that 5 speed - that’s cost cutting at it’s finest. In all, a great, well-rounded and honest video!
PS - thank you for pronouncing Ibiza correctly 😂 you have no idea how many people here in the US can’t pronounce it 😂
Thank you Alex! What was they thinking with that trim! It’s otherwise a really smart cabin. The 110bhp 7 seed DSG is a really good little car! That would be my choice but this is more than adequate for first time drivers ☺️

These are sold in Mexico, but not the United States.
But the engine option is completely different from European spec models. In Mexico they have a naturally aspirated 4cyl making 115hp.

Correct it doesn’t adjust the suspension , very mildly the throttle response….and I mean very mildly ! Not a proper sport switch.
@@POMPEYDAVE1 i thought so. Often features like this are more gimmicks then anything else in cars like these but I suppose it’s better to have it as a feature then nothing at all
@@xlj16 hi XLJ yes better than not to have them but really is a waste of time as very unnoticeable between Normal / sport. Eco is def flatter though and not nice to drive. A real sport switch would have been better . But my biggest concern was from factory how laggy it was to start with. My 71 plate FR 110 was awful with the throttle response to start with so fitted a pedal box from tdi tuning which has made a big difference.
@@POMPEYDAVE1 I’ve ordered one so that’s good to know. Have heard that the lag is quite noticeable in these new vw group cars but not experienced any myself yet. I have gone for the 95ps one so hopefully it’s alright

Tish, how does the suspension change? There’s no adaptive damping (especially on a mid range 1 litre Ibiza) and no icon to change any suspension settings.
No change to suspension only VERY slight throttle response and steering in sport mode , but hardly noticeable .

Just bought a TSi SE Technology as my driving school car. Choices were the Ibiza, Pug 208 GT, or Fiesta St line mhev. Ford couldn't guarantee delivery of the Fiesta, and the Pug is just a ludicrous mess inside the cabin regarding steering wheel and dials, beyond a joke. My previous car was a Swift SZ-T, which again I couldn't source before September from my local dealer. It'll be my first VAG vehicle and I'm hoping for good things!
Interesting point you make there because a lot of driving instructors use Peugeot 208’s but you’re right, it must be hard for people learning in the Peugeot set up when they then switch of anything else?
Pity they dropped the Ibiza Cupra, I had one a few years ago and it was a fast fun car although the 1.4 twin turbo engine drank oil for fun.

The drive select system doesn't adjust the ride quality
They made a good car ugly inside. The steering wheel.. red color around the round air vents... color of seats....ill go for the first version any day. Got one remapped to 145 hp and i love it. Better than the 1,5 manual but the 1,5 auto trans runs very well

Great looking car but it does suffer from the usual VAG stinginess with the 5spd ‘box. Even Dacia gives you a a 6spd in the Sandero these days

I would say this car is actually reasonably low. Is it the hatchback style car you prefer over a crossover?
Don't like the red plastic trim or seats. The old sat navigation was more descreat

Had a 20 plate one of these, was a death trap constantly slamming on the brakes for no reason and constant warning lights, got rid after 10 month

@@AutoSocialUK yes they did, I had it on the latest setting, was driving to work on the slip road of mway and it slammed on, traded it in the next day for a Beamer and never looked back, was a shame as was my first brand new car but I’ll never have trust for the vag brand again

@@SparkySubie The 2017-2019 is also mostly the same, Led Headlight are different in the inside, (the new one are better , my opinion) and there was an FR Logo, different Rear text font, beside that it is the same, the changes are so little, i have always to look at the Front light to see if its a facelift

The exterior still looks amazing, but the interior design choices still baffles me. Gone are the Chrome details, now replaced by plastic reds?? Still no soft touch on the front doors and no USB charging in the back. No leather stitching on the front panel either, I have that in my IBIZA Exellence from 2019, and it looks so much better and stylish than the new plastic silver thing. Not a fan of this version.
