Zac has been my favourite drummer for a very long time. So nice to see him get the recognition he deserves! He’s the reason I started crashing my rides!

@@emmanuelgalvan9280think he meant emo/pop-punk/alt rock heavy hitting stuff and new-wave/fusion/latin based groove stuff. There’s a pretty big difference in style and technique in the drums from their first several albums to the last several. Zac is undoubtedly very skilled at playing an array of different genres and common time grooves can be highly complex too.

Saw them play live at House of Blues in Vegas in 2006. Such a sick show and the energy was unbelievable. Zac’s drumming live sounded so good, I can only imagine what he sounds like live now
Guy has always been a beast but the last couple albums have had some pretty incredible percussion. Really taken it to another level. They sounded so good at MSG it blew me away.
Have been waiting for this video to come out since I heard brand new eyes when I was 12. I’m 27 now

@@chaseparkermusic No, they're saying Zac was the drummer from the start, hence why his name went first on the list. Ilan Rubin played drums on the self-titled album, then Aaron Gillespie played drums on the self-titled tour

Zac was a huge influence for me being a preteen/young teen when paramore was really taking off

They feel and sound so damn good. I recently switched from K Customs (Dark Ride, Hybrid hats) to Istanbul Signatures (Mel Lewis ride, Joey Waronker hats) and they blew me away. My ride is so responsive I don’t even play with a crash anymore.
@@ZacharyWThomas I just got a 30th Anniversary 24" ride - I couldn't believe the sounds that came out of that 1 cymbal. Now I'm seriously considering the 16" 30th Hats, 20" or 22" Traditional Dark crash and a 22" Dry Dark Brilliant. They make some crazy good cymbals.

I hit hard with 7A sticks. And never brake a stick. I think thin sticks have more flex and are less brittle
Rim shots… Also playing ride cymbals for crashes. It might call for bigger sticks. He probably goes through the 5Bs quickly too which explains 3 stick holders on the kit.
Badass drummer, love paramore. Seen them twice. But man, I wish you had a better kit lol I realize that’s all you need, no doubt, but you’re on a world tour, I’d have a bigger/funner kit. Nothing crazy, maybe another floor tom, a side snare, a couple more cymbals, maybe a second set of hats, maybe some stacks.. something…
It’s like you’re playing in a small pub for beer money, while you’re playing in some of the bigger stages in the world.
You’re just sitting back there, while everyone is dancing and running around on stage. might as well build a space ship and have a blast! 😅

I'm amazed so many pro are DW hardwear fanboys and their drum brand let them use them, ludwig made great hardwear and pedals. There are loads of pedal equal or better than 9000's

As a gear nerd and a fan of Zac and Paramore since the final riot, that doesn’t look like an 18” deep bass drum at all. Looks more like a 22x16. if I’m not mistaken the prefab Ludwig Classic Maple is a 13x9, 16x16, and a 22x14. But I’d also find it difficult to believe that Zac doesn’t know his gear. Either way. Interesting to see he’s using the regular 5Bs now. He was on 2B naturalacfor the longest time.

essentially its a throne with a generator built into it that makes you *feel* the bass frequencies coming from your bass or your toms

I didn’t even know Modern Drummer Magazine was alive!! A few years ago I subscribed and never got my issues and then found out it was just going digital They still owe me some issues that I didn’t receive Terribly annoying
Why would anyone choose to listen to a drum tech talk about his cabinets full of sticks, when you could listen to the drummer play one of the bands best songs? No one cares about how many pairs of sticks this guy has?
Uploading in 60fps is so cringe, though.

Say what you want, but this guy is more respected and recognised than the 99%, he’s literally on the cover of Modern Drummer for a reason.
I’d say there’s a few songs off of “Brand New Eyes” that might change your opinion of him.

Hahaha a "real drummer"! Regardless of what you think of Paramores music one can't deny Zacs incredible talent and playing. He's played some pretty iconic and cool parts through the years and got both finesse, groove and some good chops.

very ordinary drummer at best, and boring, and to spend 14 minutes on this small average set is to much. Just because your famous doesn't mean your great player, it just means your very lucky.
Great feel, lots of improv live in front of hundreds of thousands of people from their debut (imagine being 16 with record execs breathing down your neck but refusing to play one-for-one live to pop fans...) - he's no Tony Williams but adores the heritage of him and other jazz drummers. His songwriting and style is quite clever for the style; it's hard to set yourself apart in rock music where certain tropes are not only expected but required. You don't have to like him, but you do not know what you're talking about.
I mean my guy is one of the best Drummers of this generation, plus more, this guys talent is beyond belief...
Gotta give credit to Aaron Gillespie. Wouldn’t be where he is without him. Both industry wise and playing wise.
How do you play rock with only 3 cymbals? I play rock in my basement and I have 15 cymbals and its only just enough
