Rock Hudson showed what a really great actor he was. He just excelled in this role.

The movie was at least 10 years ahead of its time - and Contains Rocks finest screen performance

I saw this movie in the theater as a child. It blew my mind then as it does now. I cried at the END. You have never seen Rock act like this in any other of his movie's.

Out of the small percentage of the greatest films considered to be way ahead of its time that was not appreciated or valued at the time of its theatrical release. This film is undoubtedly and most assuredly Number One. Some films unfortunately need to age like wine.

I've just watched this movie. Amazing concept, mindblowing cinematography, disquieting music by the great Jerry Goldsmith, Saul Bass title sequence, Grandpa Walton, Wild Bill Hickok from Little Big Man, Mrs Robinson's husband from The Graduate and a shattering, career-best performance by Rock Hudson. A worthy addition to the blu ray collection! :)

Great to hear Hudson's comments on this disturbing movie. He is correct in saying that it is a horror film.

Filmed August 1965, NYC and Scarsdale. Why is this clip in color, but the actual film B&W?

Love Rock but the movie “Seconds” was nothing special in my opinion … in fact it played kind of like a bad Twilight Zone or One Step beyond episode. It was long and boring too. Rock’s acting is top notch in this picture but the problem is he was miscast for this role. I don’t really think people wanted to see Rock like that, acting like that playing that type of character, that’s why the movie bombed. Also by 1965 or so Rock was no longer the #1 Box Office Draw he once was between 1958-62. So his star had started to fade you might say even before he was chosen for this role. He was rumored to be really upset it wasn’t received well by critics or audiences. Thinking they would love him in such a new and risky role. Mostly no one liked the movie except Rock and maybe the people involved making it. (At the time)
