Everything Tech Review well it's working because they always have interesting stories!! which are short and sweet and straight to the point ...but they also leave you wanting more
oH. MY GOD... before I saw the manta and whale sharks swimming together I was literally gonna say those are my two fav marine animals..... im crying I wish I was there!!!!!!
what an amazing job, must be so good for the soul. 1. she gets to immerse with nature, de stressing compared to e.g. office jobs with deliverable deadlines staring at a computer screen for 14 hours a day. 2. she has a noble inspiring purpose everyday to get up to save/protect these precious marine wonders
She's a scientist, so she definitely has a ton of computer screen staring to do every day, and a lot tighter deadlines and deliverables than regular office work.
The sad thing is that the friendly types of Manta Rays are going extinct due to them being easily fished by their friendliness and it left the reclusive types of manta rays in the gene pool, in the next 50 years it wouldn't be surprising if we wouldn't be able to interact with them anymore due to all ray with friendly personality has all been fished out. Just like the increase of tuskless elephant population in Africa.
My brother and I go to Hawaii with our parents to see them in the wild. They love the reef. And they love people. They are scary at first, but they are so gentle.
I had the amazing experience to interact with a Manta Ray off the Kona Coast in Hawaii. It was at night, in a lighted area. It kept doing summer salts in front of me, within an inch of my body. It did this over and over. The mouth was wide open and I’m sure it was feeding. I couldn’t figure out why it kept banking so close to me. I certainly didn’t mind. It was amazing.
I love this channel so much. Instead of uploading the juiciest gossip, I see passion. There are passions for fishing, swimming with so manta rays, or even making the thinnest pasta! I love this channel and I'm so glad so subbed. Thanks GBS!
The way they hunt is so funny to me because of how fast they flap They hunt in groups in a specific formation to get a lot of fishes, they make the fish feel calm until NYOOM FURIOUS FLAPPING Theyre like birds i love them
You will have to get in touch with Steve Backshaw from the UK. He’s a natural historian an Tv adventure that helps with little known naturalists saving in dangers species that are endangered or new to science. He’s also a bloody great bloke. Thanks for sharing guys Paul 19.25 gmt Uk cheers
Correct me if I'm wrong but touching a manta ray will remove a layer of protective "slime" on their hide. You as a marine biologist would know this but still touch them. Why?
I don't think that's accurate. Most rays love to be petted because it helps combat parasites, lol, its why they're so friendly with people and other fish that'll offer them a fishy cleaning.
Majestic sea flap flap
C30 P17 Or the Sea Pancake
C30 P17 Oh yes my dudes
Good thing I wasn't drinking coffee
C30 P17 pretty sure you stole this comment

Matthew me too
They have both in they same tank in the Georgia aquarium
@@patriciasanchez9320 Who wants to see those poor creatures locked up in an aquarium? Me not.
They may be called devilfish, but they're more like the gentle kind blankets of the sea to me.
"Manta" is actually the Spanish word for blanket.
Devilfish? More like Blanketfish
Noah Henderson same
@@suicune690 that's so cute!
Yes. Manta rays and stingrays are very cute to me too.
I always love swimming because it almost looks like flying. And see a Manta “flap its wings” just adds to that thought.
"...for asian tonics" god dammit why is it always asian tonics.
XenomorphZZ It's probably China.
Covonuts goddamn Chinese
You know China, their folk medicine requires that an animal be endangered and protected in every other country.
Damn nabit! My people are so retarded for believing that powdered rhino horns somehow cure sickness.
Old stupid habits die the hardest.

Aww the manta ray got some belly scratches 🥺
Manta rays are so fascinating and the way she describes them makes me wanna cry. Like I crave being near them
You guys got Andrea Marshall? She's a titan when it comes to manta rays, huge fan of the species- thanks for making this video.
This channel deserves more subs. They put so much hard work and effort into their videos and it really makes a difference.
Im happy that I subbed to this channel

Im going to breed them like how that kid bred laprasus from pokemon and released them in the wild so they dont leave that gene
Heartbreaking.
Long live all the great manta rays, from the reclusive ones to the wonderful and friendly sea-alien dudes.
Majestic sea flap flaps
I wonder if surfing on manta rays is possible just like in Super Mario Galaxy.
Keith Husain Honestly, if you manage to not slip off, a manta ray will probably let you ride it
You shouldent hold them because that could remove the mucus that protects them from bacteria
@@dcabral2585 that for fish
No, they would sink and be annoyed. And you'd be a bad person. Mario is a bad person.

True true😭

A curse on those who fish/hunt and kill such beautiful and amazing creatures.
One of the best trips I ever had in the Caribbean was the manta ray habitat. It was truly beautiful.
Amazing animals, i hope scientists can protect them for the many threats.

This is one of the reasons why I’m going to become a marine biologist
Floofy huggable sea blankets. 🌊
So majestic, I'm going to start diving soon and this is what I'm looking forward to most.
Save these beautiful creatures
they are the gentle giants
beautiful ocean and calm fishes
Just saw one for the very first time it jumped out of water while I was fishing yesterday. I still can't over of how huge it was
Fun fact: when they jump out of water to run from a predator, shake off parasites or just do it for fun
'Andrea - Queen of Mantas' a documentary about Andrea and her studies on Manta Rays!
I can't go scuba diving because I have a problem with my heart but I wish I could now
I once encountered one at the beach one time. It freaked me out at first cause it was massive and swam over me lol. It was very cool!
So beautiful, thank you for this piece.
F L A T B O Y E S
I'm scared to learn what will have to all the beautiful species on this planet in the future. The human race can be so scary.
Such beautiful creatures! I hope to see one up close one day.
You are not petting a manta ray, you are petting a undersea ufo.
Ooh lah! I love it ah! They're oh so awesome, sweet a lot a lot and talented as always ah!🌊🌊🌊🌊💗💗💗💗
is this a weighted blanket
Imagine Sir David Attenborough saying: "ahhhh, and here, we have the majestic giant sea blanket"
The way they hunt is so funny to me because of how fast they flap

“It hoomans! Henlo hoomans!” -Majestic Sea Flap Flap
Everybody loves floofy sea flap flaps. 😋
Why couldn't it be Manta rays Steve was filming. 😢😢
Shiuld i breed manta rays since they are vunerable to becoming endangered
My favorite animal
I wonder if the sharp decline was because people were mistaking them for Mantines.
A lovely pokemon reference I don't think many will get.
THAT HAS TO B THEE ULTIMATE JOB❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊..
What a majestic sea flap flap.
☆They're so beautiful☆
I want that lady's job, I've always loved manta rays and I would love to do what she does.

Manta Rays have the largest brains of any fish.
Cute and amazing
They look so squishy I wanna cuddle with them 🥰
Same I wanna hug and protect 🥺

yyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppp iiiiiiiiii aaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Asian tonics? Man, if the "traditional medicine" market stopped overnight, imagine how many species would be able to recover...
Brown Himalayan bears, manta rays, wolves. A lot of them
Leave it to humans to be the reason that these beautiful creatures are literally disappearing ....
Manta rays are my favorite animals so im debating if i should breed and release them in the wild
Manta Rays were my favorite animals growing up. I remember crying seeing them get killed for medicine.
"WE FOUND THE MANTAS!"
big flying blankets
where do they get money to explore and study??
Amazing
Nice.

awesome
Ima shark
Helicorpion :D ima doge
I get that Moana scene now
I always called them floating pancakes lol
Now I feel sad...
Manta rays are the smartest fish
When you know it has a pointed face you know it's the friendly one
The most friendliest creatures on earth are manta rays and octopuses
I want to dance next to Manta rays.
Why are you touching the rays? Pretty sure that you're damaging their mucous/protective layer
I WILL STILL CALL THEM SEA PANCAKES
tortilla fish go flap
lol we now a decimal of the ocean
If I had discovered a manta ray I would have called it a pancake fish
what pokemon is that ?
