I was 13 when I listened Ms. Wilson for the very first time. And I fell in love, of course. It was 1988. She was 38. Now I'm 45, she's 70 and I still get goosebumps when I she sings. And still have a crush on her.
Know what's amazing? These days singers will cloud the sound with other things to mask how their voices have changed with age. Ok, that's cool. But Ann gets out there with her sister on a on acoustic guitar and an orchestra. Let's face it, those two place the singer way in the forefront. And Ann comes through like a boss! Forget best male/female singer debates. She one of the top maybe five rock singers ever.
Thanks for posting this so we could here her REAL performance of Alone at Royal Albert. The record company overdubbed this performance for the DVD to cover up the imperfections during the wail at the bridge and the last two belts of "ALOOOONE!" near the end. Too bad, because it's the first time I'm aware of that she has ever been overdubbed on a live recording. She has had some difficulties with this song for about the last two years.
Supposedly Ann can no longer hit the high notes at the same tempo as the original power ballad and that's why they play this song much slower now. But I would love to hear a power ballad version of it once again.....
They don't do it like in the video or studio album anymore. They've been doing it this way for a long time now. It's still beautifully done this way. You have to listen to it a couple more times
To be fair, you got the same three they always do - These Dreams, Alone, and What About Love. I have to admit though, I'm not a fan of their 80s output - I much prefer their 70s stuff, and the last twenty years or so
even taking this down an octave....wow.....how may artists now days even come close to what they do....they sing....... thats what i would pay money for... not lip singing..
Ann looks great. It great to see her shedding the pounds. I was disapointed in the christmas bluray. Besides doing "stairway" they didn't do any of the great songs from their christmas cd realeased about 7or 8 years ago. sammy haggar had no bussiness being on that bluray, and richard marx "bublegum wimp" I would like to see Heart get heavier. Bring back Roger Fisher. review by dygertron dream of the christmas guitar u-tube.
This lady's voice gives me goosebumps every time I hear her.
agreed
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FEMALE VOICE IN MUSIC👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💋🇧🇷
still such a beautiful and powerful voice.
Amazing
ONE OF THE GREATEST BAND EVER
Wow lucky people who were there! I loved this in 87 and still adore it now. :)
Unbelievably great, that song is not easy to sing, and she recorded that....what ? 30 years ago ish.

Carlos Castaneda. Me too
goooooooose bumps!!
thanks..best song of the night..sent spivers down my spine (which made up for the short set!)
Cheers! It was a good gig but I agree, a 90 minute set was far too short... considering the cost of the ticket.

this is true. that was a weird summer. She had some voice problems that year and has recovered nicely but sings the song and wail differently now.
check this version from her solo tour in 2017: ua-cam.com/video/42iob-1GRpM/v-deo.html
Oh Annie, you're a dreamboat.
I'm resigned to never hear this song in its power ballad form again.

MichaelTJD60 They've been playing this version for many years now. I like both!

Is that Sananda Maitreya on keyboards?
Great concert, but a surprisingly short set! Do you have any other songs from the night?
Have added a few more videos :)
Excellent, thanks!

I love to hear Ann sing this song, but this was definitely not her best. Search for "Heart Alone Live Colosseum". ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE!!
Maan, she's getting older... 67 and she's still great :)
She is 67 still amazing !!
