so far it really has to go to ashen, might change if vildhjarta's new releases before the end of the year but lets be honest it'll probably release in like 2028 or something
I'd say Invent Animate or Sleep Token, but I'm counting on Silent Planet to change it

Saw these guys at the O2 supporting tool, their tone is impeccable and the drummer has enough energy to keep all 20’000 of us very entertained
Been listening to Night verses non stop since i found out about them last year. can already say that they are one of my favorite bands of all time. From the Gallery of Sleep is a masterpiece.
Right there with you, man! They're one of the first bands that have emotionally moved me in such a cathartic way without the need for vocals. Specifically the song Phoenix IV: Levitation. That is the singular greatest instrumental song of all-time for me. I can't stress enough how fucking good Night Verses is.
The last minute of Bound To You gave me goosebumps, the delayed guitar over the djenting is incredible.
Overall I think it’s my favourite song off the album

Nick Depirro(guitar) and Aric Improita(drums) have their own solo albums that bring the same intensity and precison as Night Verses as a whole. Glad someone else shared the same excitement as i had! 🔥👍

phenomenal review, phenomenal album. I've been patiently waiting for this release ever since 2019. if you do have the chance, give their 2018 record a spin. a bit lengthier than this one but it for sure slaps. cheers
Nick DePirro the guitarist used to stream himself creating music and uploaded a bunch of it on spotify along with some other stuff he's made under his name. The Drummer Aric Improta is for sure one of the most creative and talented drummers out there as well, he has a 40min drum solo on spotify he broke up into an album. So plenty of material to digest from these talented fellas!
I absolutely adore night verses. Their past works have always been such an "experience", often times I need to scratch an itch that only Night Verses can hit. This new album was absolutely incredible, its just hard to pick my AOTY with all the other great stuff this year. Invent Animate, Currents, Sleep Token, and upcoming Silent Planet. This year has been incredible.
Pomegranate Tiger's new album is also another great instrumental album that came out this year. The guitarist is also the drummer of the band. Crazy talented guy.
Their 2018 album is masterpiece. Must hear.

You should check out the song Exu by Aric Improta (the drummer) and Justin, be warned of the flashy flashy lights though haha
BTW, they are the warm up of Tool in the next Europe tour of 2024 :D

doug was such a good vocalist, and fit with the band really well imo, was super surprised when they decided to go without a vocalist but they've only improved and i'm so happy.

Aric is my favorite drummer! the guy is just too good
every electric/digital sound effect you hear is played by him in real time, which makes everything even more incredible
