      Hello, would it be nice to connect an ES1203 system from channel 1 to the line L channel of the mixer? Or would it be better to connect channel 1 and 2 to the LR channels of the mixer?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому

      you can do channel 2 and 3 and adjust so you don't over drive the input section of the system and send it into clipping.
      Balanced LINE/MIC Input (CH.1)
      This is an XLR or TRS (balanced or unbalanced) combo connector input.
      It allows you to connect a microphone or line signal (e.g. from a mixer or instrument with a line output impedance, such as an electronic keyboard).
      It can function as a mono channel, or as the left channel in a stereo input connection, when used together with input [3]. See chapters 4 and 5 for details of the channel settings.
      Balanced LINE/MIC Input (CH.2)
      This is an XLR or TRS (balanced or unbalanced) combo connector input.
      It allows you to connect a microphone or line signal (e.g. from a mixer or instrument with a line output impedance, such as an electronic keyboard).
      It can function as a mono channel, or as the right channel in a stereo input connection, when used together with input [2]. See chapters 4 and 5 for details of the channel settings.

    For the size, even on the video the dB es1203 is killing it!............maybe over kill for a fusion jazz group in a small club but, dam I just have to save a bit more! I have a lucas nano 302 that is great but too small for sax, bass, guitar and vocals! Great review!👍🏾

    • @trinityprosound

      Yes we sure would , great sound, easy on the eyes and music playback is awesome. The top boxes are very good for speaking engagements as they are fairly forgiving to feed back issues, with lapels, etc., (best to use over the ear for corporate if you can)

      trinityprosound thanks for the answer. I saw that the Turbosound ip3000 actually can sync to another unit in master/slave mode and i think is an awesome feature for what i need it. Can you please check, try and tell me? Is going to be my final key factor to make THE choice. I’m in Mexico, so is really hard for me to “go to the audio store and try” because here don’t sell that kind of equipment. I guess i will buy it to you guys and pay international shipping. THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO, MUCH GRATITUDE !
    Very interesting as was quite certainly inclined towards 2 EVOX 12's.
    Would it be that the dual 12's of the ES1203 Sub actually behaves slightly better as a "SUB" as well more so than the EVOX 12?
    The video suggests so. The EVOX 12 seemed to have nicer highs though, only slightly but a bit woolier down low?
    Is it reliable as well?
    Which would be the better choice purely on SQ for a 5 Piece Rock Band typically playing to 200-300?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому

      Either will do , however IMO the ES1203 has better low end with the dual 12's to my liking ... the thing you have to understand with either is that the LF box is doing low end and subwoofer duty, but really is NOT a subwoofer...if you need constant low that goes below 55hz a dedicated sub would be highly recommended...but with that said, i think you would be pleased with either system for your application, but the ES1203 does compact and transports better IMO as well.

      trinityprosound Thanks for your prompt reply and advice.
      Prices here in Australia are way inflated!
      At this time the Evox 12 is a lot better value “down under” than the ES1203.
      That being said I am leaning towards the ES1203 for multiple reasons.
      T H A N K Y O U !
      Ps: Totally agree but once cry once.

    Thanks for posting a review! Would you recommend buying 2 ES1203 subwoofers to match the 2 tops (like the EVOX systems) instead of having a 2:1 system? That would be the ideal setup with much more bass correct?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      yes and yes, the output of 2 of the ES1203 will be quite amazing vs. attempting to do with a split system, even though the split system is quite powerful, i just like the better look of 1 per side...but that is me. we were impressed with 1 per side of the ES503 system outdoors believe it or not...and the ES1203 should be an OMG factor for output indoors or out.

    • @finster888

    • @trinityprosound

    I just bought an ES1203 system and I am very happy for the power and potability, if it is true that I would like to know if with some dbx processor I could get better sound ...
    I would like to know your opinion about buying another ES1203 system. Would it be possible to do live performances with a tribute band, keyboards, guitar, bass and voice? For about 300 people ?? Thank you very much and excuse my English but I am Spanish ..

      no an outboard processor is not going to do much for you , get a good mixer with 31 band EQ on outputs to help adjust the system response and PEQ on channels - with 2 systems you can do live band for around 400 with no issues...

    You mention running a sub along with the es1203. It would in interesting to see a video seeing the difference the extra sub makes as I've been having some local sounds techs tell me that the es1203 would not be enough to handle a full band. Sub 18h was recommended with igt3

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому +1

      It can be done, but if you are needing that much low end, a different system would be recommended instead of a ES1203, the SUB18H is a great mid level sub and pairs very well with the IG3T and IG4T speakers. The ES1203 by itself would do 100-150 peeps, if you have 2 of them 300 peeps to 350 for full band no issue.

      @@trinityprosound I'll have to get my hands on one to have a listen. Aside from the full band I also play solo and duo shows along with a bit if DJing so the portability of the es1203 is very attractive and if its powerfull enough to use with the band at some bar gigs.. even better. Just curious how much more bottom end will the 18h add if I need to add sub for outdoor or ballroom gigs. Will the tops on the es1203 keep up. Going into the 18h and aux out to the es1203 should give a fairly power system..

      yes, sub with a dual crossover is recommended , into sub, out to ES1203, or one sub per side then out to ES1203. crossed at 90hz , can run the ES1203 harder as they won't clip due to limited low end going to them and the larger drivers of the sub can do the lows from 90hz down

    Hi. Would you think 2 of these would outperform a HK Audio Elements Big Base system? I'm talking about for a live band in theatres with mic'd drums etc. I like the HK for vocals etc but I find in theatres with raked seating the top end falls away pretty steep above (and below) the height of the array. The spec on the DB website of the top box suggests it is only 100w peak!

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      No, most likely 100 WRMS to each top box for 200WRMS to both in mono mode would be my take, but I think it is more than that to the tops, but no way of confirming how they split out the 3 channel power amp. The tops really project quite well when combined...maybe not so much energy in stereo mode.

    • @motherhubbarduk
      @motherhubbarduk 6 років тому

      trinityprosound Ok. Yeah still sounds low compared to the 600w RMS to tops on the HK Elements Big Base. Do you have any thoughts on how it would compare?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому +1

      there in lies the problem...HK numbers do not add up, they don't state the RMS power of the driving base box, 2400 watts of what ? most likely peak or program, it is not RMS power. No SPL specs either from the cut sheets, so we really don't know what the unit power is like or SPL anticipation. With the top boxes handling 300 watts, if true comparison, only one top can be fixed to the base unit. This is not unlike other manufacturers that list power ratings without being truthful about power, and specs of unit. db does list 2400 watts peak, since others do the same and lie, they need to ensure a believable power factor, but true RMS is roughly ½ that. They do give a max SPL of 132, but not where that is measured at , HK gives no such information. 200 watts RMS is quite a bit of power at 8 ohms and most likely the top boxes of ES1203 is affixed at 4 ohms for most likely 400 watts going to them in reality. If would be nice if all mfr. could give specs the same so comparisons and figures for them are not skewed and truthful to the buyer. This is why we do the videos, to give honest opinion of something that is very reasonable price, unlike the HK unit ranging from $2800 US to $3900 US

    • @motherhubbarduk

      trinityprosound Indeed. It can be frustrating. Thanks for your videos and help. The HK I have does state 300watt RMS to each top box and it has a 600 w amp in the sub to supply that. It also has a second 600w amp to drive the sub and a slave sub (which are rated at 250w RMS). For clarity I actually have the single 10" sub AS model which have the extra amp to drive extra units. I then power 2 of the longer top boxes and the additional passive sub off that. I have that each side so I would want to compare to 2 x mono DB stacks. DB do seem to get confused on their website re RMS/Peak for this top box. You can see the spec sheet for the passive top box stating 100w peak. I can't believe it could be that low. Your suggestion seems more likely. Does the DB top box seem to spread the sound much above and below the array? I know it has the angled driver array for this so would be interesting to know how it spreads.

      Question...where are you seeing the 100W to the top box...? I don't see on spec sheet or website...
      Yes, the db tops do a great job in the horizontal and vertical coverage, seems more focused when the two boxes are combined into a mono system.

      The dual 12" is quite heavy and would take as much if not more to knock over vs. a traditional speaker on a stick , which is top heavy inherently and most tripods used are light aluminum and not the heavy steel of the K and M stands with wide foot print. Not saying it would never happen, but highly unlikely if you have never had one knock over traditional tripod stands from a drunk...

      The ES1203 is a more pro system than Bose F1 and is a more sleek and powerful design IMO. We have had , over the years, many sell their Bose systems to buy comparable from dB Technologies and RCF. We have also spec out the IG series speaker systems against the Bose F1 and the IG4T or IG3T blow the Bose system away with the companion subwoofers. Not a huge fan of the Bose systems. I feel you get more bang for your $$$ with the db or RCF systems. Just heard a demo of the ES1203 in Stereo mode at INFOCOMM in Las Vegas...about 3000+ sq foot room. The ES1203 amazed us all and that was just the two tops and single bass unit.

      The LD system is a TURBOSOUND IP3000 the one thing i hated about that system is that the audio comes out of the entire column from bottom to top, really a tough listen IMO, having the top box elevated on the ES1203 and separated as it is, gave a more distinct sound vs. that entire column. Turbo sound is way cheaper than the LD44 BTW.

    i no you also have some RCF gear, my question is I have the RCF HDL 20a with the RCF TTS 18a the HDLs are heavy 63 lbs to be exact, as I recall RCF makes a box similar to the db technologies IG2T, My question is I brought the HDL 20a for the out door long throw. would i lose some throw with the smaller RCF.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      Ok..it is not about "throw" it is about SPL and coverage patterns. The HDL20 is a 135dB box with 100 x 15 coverage making it like a knife cutting through the air with the 15 degree vertical pattern and 135dB max SPL. The RCF NXL24 or similar boxes from db Tech, etc. have greater coverage patterns, the NXL24A is a 131dB box vs. the 135. but has a coverage pattern of 100 x 30 so a bit more even coverage from that column but still somewhat directional in the vertical as most speakers are 90 x 40 or 90 x 60, etc. With 2 of the NXL24 per side you would have 134dB max SPL and a bit broader coverage in the vertical, vs. the HDL20A but you will need 3+ boxes to get the vertical coverage that 2 of the NXL24 can do. The HDL20A couple that doubling the number of boxes gets you a 3dB increase , so that 2 boxes gets you 138 and 4 boxes gets you 141 and 8 boxes is 144 and so on. The reason that the "throw" or combined SPL of the HDL20 is so goo that when flat faced or with a slight angle between boxes the SPL couples and has the advantage to SEND the sound further due to increased SPL of the multiple boxes. Opening the angles does start to alter the coupling of the boxes at greater angles between boxes and would be more noticeable up close than lets say 100 feet back where the boxes and coverage patterns join for the "throw". It is all about the SPL and coupling of the boxes. To answer your question..YES the small boxes and less SPL will lose the "throw" or higher SPL levels that you would be accustom to. The only caveat would be more small boxes to equal what the larger boxes were doing with fewer units.

    • @centerstageentertainment6792
      @centerstageentertainment6792 6 років тому

      So if I were to replace my HDL 20a with lets say the HDL 6a, but doubling the number of boxes i will experience the same amount of spl.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      Lets say you have 4 HDL20A, max SPL out is 141dB , max SPL out of 8 boxes or HDL6A is 137dB so 4 boxes is still twice as loud as 8 boxes of HDL6A, you would have to get 16 boxes per side to equal 4 boxes of HDL20, but you will have more directional control and uniformity of sound. Unfortunately most if not all the boxes in that range of dual 10" drivers weigh in about the same .... something has to go to get the weight down... we use 2 of the IG4T per side and they do a great job for 700+ outdoors, but the key is to get them in the air .....

    HI JOHN! I finally got to test out this system on DEC 8 for my 1st Wedding gig. It was a small wedding, about 100 people. I had these cranked up along with my pioneer controller and I had people tell me to turn it up higher. I was already in the red zone. I don't know much how to set the correct gain/ trim/ etc so can you please tell me the best way to set these while getting the most out of these speakers? I can't beliee I had these cranked & I had them redlined most of the night . I thought you start from the computer to controller, to speakers to set the volume & trim. I KNOW THESE SPEAKERS COULD'VE GOT ALOT LOUDER, I thought they sounded great, but didn't blow me away. i also had the SHURE SM58 WIRELESS MIC BUT COULD'NT USE IT DUE TO EXTREME FEEDBACK ALL ACROSS THE BALLROOM. Luckily the band let me use their wired mic with no feedback. What is the best way to dial these in for the best sound?
    What do you do to kill the feedback when on this system? I plugged the mic directly into the pioneer controller. Another guest told me to add more treble because the sub was too strong. The bands singer told me wireless mic run HOT whatever that means. At first i connected the speakers useing the CHANNEL 1 On the sub. It sounded very weak. Then I used CHANNEL 2 & Sounded great. WhY DID CHANNEL 2 SOUND WEAY BETTER THAN CHANNEL 1? Thank you once again.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому

      Where did you buy your system, have you talked over your issues with them and what did they tell you? If you have feedback you may need to get a different mic and mixer to control it, with proper EQ, etc. The ES1203 and others are very forgiving for feedback so something was quite wrong with mic type or settings.

    • @esezate1
      @esezate1 5 років тому

      trinityprosound Thanks for your reply . I bought these from a handsome young man who goes by the name Sir J.S.Moore up in Northern California. I asked on this platform to help others who have this issue. To your questions... I used the SHURE BLX24/SM58 Wireless mic into the Pioneer SB3 Controller. Strangely, during Soundcheck it gave me NO FEEDBACK. When I was LIVE & Everyone was in the room, The Feedback was so terrible I had to disconnect the Mic. Turning down the volume on my Controller DID NOT DO Anything to cut off the Feedback. Why is that? Also, Why does the System sound better when I use Channel 2 than Channel 1? Do you think I should connect the Mic directly into the ES 1203 Sub instead of my Controller?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому

      Got, hard to tell customer names from UA-cam handles... Something is wrong in your signal chain with the mic , the SM58 should not give you feedback like that .. channel 1 is set for mic or instrument input and runs much hotter with levels into the amp. channel 2 is for mic or line and most likely levels are set lower on that input vs. #1 - unfortunately controllers IMO dont have very good mic input sections and EQ. Do you have a mixer that you connect your Pioneer SB3 into ? that you could connect the mic prior to the ES1203's??? Look at page 38 to 51 of the manual that goes over the inputs and what they do and some guidance on what the DSP does in that unit.

      Would it be clever to combine one ES503 with one ES802 for having best of both worlds? They have the same design and size. But the ES503 has the DSP display+bluetooth, while the ES802 is a bit louder and a little bit cheaper. Then - being a mobile DJ - I would still have the option to bring only 1 ES503 as a (stereo) setup when playing in small venues, and to couple it with the ES802 for bigger parties. Ofcourse 2 ES802s would be cheaper and louder, but don't have the flexibility of an ES503.

      If you are hitting the limiters you don't have enough rig for the gig for the volume you want to produce. You have to feed your signal to them flat , no EQ no added bass or low end. You can't over come physics, you will only be able to get so much from a system before it will peak out. Also look at how your power is fed, large gauge of cords needed for longer power runs, etc.

      if you are hitting the limiters you are asking the system to do something it is not designed to do. low end is the first thing to hit the limiters. if you need more low end you will have to add subs, as you need more rig for your gig. they will run great and loud with signal be flat on the system and flat from your mixer or controller. need more low end, get more speakers. its physics and you cant get more out of them than allowed/permitted by design.

      Yes numbers are correct, the LF driver is IMO around 900WRMS, there is NOT a double stack system, it is TWO systems with the design mounts for the speakers, the most you can do on a system is 2 tops to maintain proper amp impedance and the arrays do not lend themselves in the patter to double stack so 2 tops max on top of the design column only. I have not heard two systems together YET , but imagine is quite impressive, as one system was to us during this video

      db any day, but would have to qualify that in "what series of speakers" , not a huge Mackie fan here as they don't make anything beyond MI type gear.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому

      Yes that is not a problem at all, is just a power difference between the two and the 1203 can be split where the 1002 can not.

    • @wurlitzersk2541
      @wurlitzersk2541 5 років тому

      trinityprosound Ok, the ES 1203 seems to have 2 dB more SPL level as the 1002. Is there a big difference between sound. I thought, if both DSP settings are flat, they should sound the same?! The ES1203 has the option for beam stearing, the es 1002 not.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому +1

      Not much difference in sound between the two, the ES1203 has multiple amps, thus the higher SPL, the steering is about 10 degrees up or down, not a lot as the column is so small top to bottom. Not sure you would notice any difference with or without anything "steered" , yes the 1203 or 1002 will sound the same.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  5 років тому

      depending on the size of your events one of these could do 100-150 no issues, music dependent maybe a bit more. if you deploy 2 , go with the ES1002. same stuff, just a mono vs. dual channel system. low end is exceptional for a SUB/LF type system. many of these types of systems will not do what a dedicated subwoofer can do, but this one IMO comes the closest. with 2 ES1002 you can do 300+ at really good levels. we have done full on bands with a pair of ES503's for 200 and headroom as well.

    • @georgegeorgio1751
      @georgegeorgio1751 6 років тому

      Yes but you could just get an rough equivalent sub like a DB sub 615 run that with IG2T and then run ES1203

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      Yes that would work, but the IG2T will out run the 615 sub, I think the SUB18H would be more of a appropriate sub to pair with the IG2T, it really does project quite well. From what we have heard with other subs and demos those would pair well. But with that said, you are looking at different set ups, the ES1203 is a SUB/LF driver not a dedicated subwoofer working from 90-100hz and below, cross over for ES1203 is at 160hz, so a bit of LMid going to the 12" drivers...you don't get that with a dedicated top and subwoofer.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому +1

      you could do 400-500 with two of the ES1203, but for additional low end, we recommend a SUB18H or 2 to go with it. You don't want to mix and match speakers, sonically and sound dispersion to mix and match different tops, etc. does some real bad things to the sound of your system. Sell off what you have and get all the same type of speakers , subs, etc. so you know they will play well together. Mix and match to get "more" sound is not the way to go.

    • @SoySiervoDeDios1
      @SoySiervoDeDios1 6 років тому

      Ok thanks for the advice. I trust you because you seem legit! What is a good set of speakers and subs to not buy speakers all the time and be able to use them for small, medium and large events (50-800 people)? Also, why do people mix and match all the time? And is mix and match recommendable sometimes when a company seems to make better tops and another company seems to make better subs?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      I would go with 4x of the IG4T's and 18" subs. Look at SUB18H or we like the FBT SUBLINE 218SA, those subs for 1200WRMS are amazing and pair very well with the IG4T speakers. People mix and match because they don't know. They think a speaker is a speaker and a system is a system, it is not.... we recommend using the same series and mfr. since the sonic quality and tunign of the the DSP in the active amps will be similar, also mix and match speakers have different coverage patterns and will introduce all sorts of comb filtering and cancellations...people just do not want to do the research and think they "know sound"

      Other than the 3 channel amp in the ES1203, the 1002 is about the same output, just a "mono" system that you can't separate the speakers... still same amp family just less power due to 2 channels vs. 3 channels

      Hi again. Could I just ask do you feel the bass from something like a 905AS II would be vastly better than that from the 1203 bottom box? The 1203 bass doesn't seem to go very low from your other video, did you find this a problem in the real-world listening test?

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      The 905AS2 is a dedicated subwoofer albeit a 15" . The LF out of the unit you can hear, but feel, yes up close. For feel you are going to need 18" units and be where the wave develops based on frequency. Larger driver more air moves. We do well with our TTS26A dual 15" subs for feel but use 2 per side and they are 3400WRMS each. The EVOX 12 and ES1203 are systems that use extended LF from the speaker but they are a 2 way speaker system. I think it would be great if they could do a subwoofer, LF and HF section, but that would not be a portable system then... The 905AS2 do a good job for what they are, but there is nothing like a powerful 18" or 21" subwoofer...

    • @theboogieknight8279
      @theboogieknight8279 6 років тому

      Do you feel the bass on the 905ASII is a vast step up from the 1203 or is there not much in it. I ask as the 905 isn't that much bigger and similar weight. Of course you need dedicated tops then.

    • @trinityprosound
      @trinityprosound  6 років тому

      about even really, but with that said the ES1203 is a pair of LF drivers not a subwoofer...so there will be some trade offs.
