Here are my 5 goals for amateur radio in 2024. What are yours? Here's a link to my video on 5 Simple #HamRadio Tasks for Travel. • 5 Simple Ham Radio Tas...
Sorry to have missed the premier because this was an outstanding video! Well done Mike. Great goals and way to stretch yourself. We should all aspire to do the same! 73!
Great content. Great thing about our hobby is the fact there are so many facets via bands modes etc that once you learn or get bored of one there are so many others to try, and if your the few that does it all you can start at the beginning. 73 to all.
I totally agree. It really is a hobby of hobbies. I love that it encourages me to keep learning and trying new things. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked it!
Great video. Very inspiring to set some goals rather than just the same thing time after time. Fits right into my other goals for this year. Enjoy all your videos.
Thanks!! It's not always easy for me--and I'm sure others--to try new and different things. But ham radio has taught me that it can be good, and FUN, to step outside my comfort zone from time to time.
You did it! Congrats!! You’re gonna have a blast. If you’re interested in Extra, then just keep going and start studying while it’s fresh in your head.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it! I’ve gotten off to a good start and got my first contacts on AM during a late shift POTA last night. I hope 2024 is a great year for all of us!
Great stuff Mike! One thing I like to do when hiking for SOTA is listen to audiobooks. Not always the best for technical type books but might help you get to your book goal.
You just gave me a great idea... I travel a lot for work in the first quarter, usually driving across the state a few times each month. I need to see what ham radio audiobooks there are to listen to in the car. But you're right about the technical stuff. I listened to audiobooks a lot more before COVID and found that fiction or biographies were an easier listen. Still, I'll see what's out there!
@@MikeN2MAK Let me know if you find any good ham radio audiobooks. Did you ever listen to Art Bell when he was around? He has a good series of interviews with Wayne Green W2NSD who is a colourful character. He had some good stories about DXpeditions and other radio stuff. I found it inspiring.

Thanks so much. I'll be trying to learn from you when it comes to satellites in the spring.
@@MikeN2MAK if I am doing my job it should be easy!

Nice content but even better delivery. All the best Mike!
Thanks, Chris! I’m glad you liked it and appreciate the feedback. Happy New Year!
Interesting. I hadn't thought about making goals for Amateur Radio. Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have any yet, but I will.
It’s never too late. And ham radio is the hobby of hobbies, so there’s always something, LOL. Thanks for watching!

I’m studying for my General Exam. I’m wanting to activate some parks while I’m working in Florida. Goals for 2024!!
I’m sure you’ll do just fine on the General. POTA is blast and operating portable is always a great learning experience.

@@ve7ajk I haven't, but that's something to look into. Thanks again!
My goals: Get more active on VHF/UHF, become competent in CW, spend more time hunting POTA.
Aweseom! VHF/UHF is an area I want to improve too. CW might need to wait another year though, LOL. Thanks for watching!
Let me know next time your in DC and we can activate a park together! I have a lot of the same goals as you
Will do. I know you know all the good spots!
Amateur Tv looks cool
Yes, it definitely does! That’s another thing I definitely need to learn more about.
