after watching the interviews of Jithu and Chidambaram, one thing is clear. Malayalam directors can speak very good Tamil and can easily direct Tamil movies. managing a Tamil cast n crew should not be a problem. it's been a while since we saw Tamil movies through the eyes of Malayalam directors. Fazil, Priyadarshan, IV Sasi, Bharathan have given us some memorable Tamil movies. hopefully we will get to see a movie from a Malayalam director soon.

We learn Tamil mostly from watching movies. Most Tamil movies are quite dramatic with key words emphasised and reflects what is on the screen. For example in Tamil there would be a dialogue "Nan unne Suda ppore" before shooting the villain. This makes it easy for a Malayali to learn the language. Malayalam movies are rarely linear and the good ones use dialogues and screenplay are complementary to create a Multi dimensional narrative of the movie. Ie the dialogue is not exactly replicated on scene, Makes it difficult to learn the language from watching Malayalam movies

@user-vqdfg I think it's because you didn't understand lot of the references which is very personal to the malayali audience... The only similarity jigarthanda, aavesham, and maari shares is showing the emotional side of a gangster. If that's the case it would resemble 100s of movies across the world... Keeping that aside the humour was worked out perfectly and the intense scenes felt way more intense than any intense scene from jigarthanda especially the dumb charades scene..
