You have no idea how fast i clicked when i got this notification. An oval bug being saved from the scrapyard is worth a watch 👍👍
Dear Lennert v. W.
👍👌👏 Same here, definitely! I hope that they will rescue the other bugs, especially the convertible, and the split window bus too.
Best regards, luck and health.
now i wait till he pulls a splitXD
Thanks man !
Agreed! And, how many vintage v.w.s are we losing to scrap yards, etc? :(
VW LO MEJOR INVENTADO CON 4 LLANTAS.
When I was 6 years old, dad rolled a brand new ‘55 VW Beetle unto our driveway, tan, with the oval window and funny blinkers, that were disabled but still installed, and rag top sun roof. I remember fondly many day trips in that car, all the sounds, smells, of that wonderful ride and I wish you the best of luck in restoring this beauty! Please keep us posted on this project. What a find!
Y'all this was an incredible watch. Honestly can't believe how resilient it is for having sat there since '69.
thank you Samuel
I dated a girl who’s mom had a ‘47 beetle she brought back with her from Germany. She was still driving it in ‘75.
Watching this takes me way back to the days of junkyarding on Saturday's with my dad growing up. Used to see tons of Beetles as I walked around.
Nice 😁
Same here Bro. I'm 75. I remember the day he found an aluminum Crosley 4 cyl eng. Lotta talking and deciding before he had to shell out $5.00. Bless him.
The banter back and forth between these two guys is great. I'm glad they didn't edit it out. Having done similar vehicle rescues, I can relate to the conversations.
Headlights intact. Taillights intact. Very nice. Being buried in scrub probably helped preserve a lot of parts that otherwise might have been picked off over the decades.
Love it. A great find, and almost complete with all its lights too, apart from the chrome oval vents at the front...and loads of other stuff..
Amazing! 52 years in the swamp and it does not look too bad.
true
I haven't cried this hard since my first child was born! She is so cute!
Great rescue! Poor 1303 's standing beside it, they also deserve a better future...
"She's a 'bute Clark!" keeps going through my head...
😂👍😁
A very lucky find even if he was told where it was, be really good to see this possibly running, thanks for sharing with us
thank you Alan , more soon
Dang man , this is inspiring for America. I am use to this in my area of Tennessee. But I cannot tell you how happy it is to see some remaining necks in New York. I wish you could do some more videos on the old girl.
Hi Richard , thank you , yes this 55' is getting a full restoration
Wow; that’s a rare occurrence! An oval in a scrapyard! You would’ve thought they would’ve all been picked up or scrapped by now.
I agree !
do you have the video of the restoration?
Great save guys! These old classic VW's are getting harder to find in junkyards anymore, especially an oval window!
Let's hope who takes ownership of it brings it back to the road!
Especially if it hits the road unmolested and in standard trim. That would be nice.
Hi9bv
T
Heck of a adventure. Enjoyed watching the struggle!👍 I’d really enjoy watching this one get restored!!
thank you David , much appreciated
Great rescue! Loved watching this one being saved. Thanks for sharing!!
thank you Daniel , much appreciated
So cool that there are still some rare beauties out there waiting!
yes , they are still out there👍
Thank you for saving that oval! VW Forever!
😁👍
Warms my heart to see another one saved
👍, pulled another one yesterday
I can’t believe that thing didn’t turn into a dust cloud when you first pulled it with the winch….good save!👍👍
Thank you for saving her !!!
👍, we thank you for checking out the vid
Super cool oval window! Great save 👏
Good restoration
Thank you for saving the oval. 🤙
👍👍
You need to hire that guy. That car rolled right on your trailer. Incredible find
I sure do! thank you Zimm
Great Job!! Oval VW back to life soon. Regards from Europe Barcelona Spain
thank you
Great job getting that out. You have gotten lots better at this. Going to need deep pockets to afford to fix that one up.
amazing what pulling drums can do :), thank you , yes , very $DEEP$
If a guy does the majority of the work himself, the bill won't be that bad. But, if he needs to send the bug out for everything, yes it is going to cost some big bucks.
The footage of the Bug on the trailer when you drive through the junkyard is kinda touching. There is something special about these old cars, that only a select few people really seem to get. Great find and fantastic video!
Thank you Nicki , I appreciate it
I usually don’t like red bugs but the patina on this one just made it beautiful 🔥🔥🔥
Wonderful guys!! Saved!!!
we thank you Leonard
Great rescue! I love it. Beats the alternative story of "The old lady had no idea what it was worth".
Incredible find! Thanks for doing your part to preserve a part of automotive history!
Thanks to Kevin for continuing to follow up on the lead of the old bug in the scrap yard .
SUPER !!!
And don't forget to save the vert.
Greetings from Germany.
S.g. ghia junkie
Greetings , thank you , we are pulling the white vert tomorrow . I do not know the price , I do not know the condition , I never looked inside it , or under it , or checked for an engine . Should be fun Ghia Junkie , fingers crossed haha !
Ist ja ein Ding. Gleich zwei Landsleute mit Karmann-Tick in einem Chat. Bleibt gesund Leute. Vielleicht sieht man sich mal auf einem Treffen.
@@5150mxVW fingers crossed.
Hey Jason, great score for your "young" friend there, it would be a rare and interesting Resto. Great entertaining rescue, "rescuing every VW Bug ever landed in the U.S.A, one at a time", a noble quest...
Hi Gary , great find by Kevin , he stuck with it ...it will be restored ...haha, thank you
Finally!! And while I have my coffee!! Perfect day!
😁, thank you Louis
This is heartwarming!! Thank you!
thank you six six !
You guys are the best! Saving this Beetle is awesome!!
thank you
Wow Great Find! 👍 That’s a big size junkyard and I can see in the background that there’s two other VW’S over there, the blue one and the white convertible. They need rescued also. 👀
Rescue the German car good work my friend 🇩🇪
That was your best rescue yet! Please follow the restoration for us!
really ? well i guess i have only pulled one other oval from the earth so perhaps :). I will for sure👍
What a gem!
that was a fun day, HUGE thank you to Kevin for finding it and doing all the hard work :)
Love Love Love, Keep the great work
thank you Emanuel
What a beautiful Volkswagen Käfer
👍
Brings back fond memories...I bought a '55 VW new with a sun roof in strato-silver (blue) color.
Hi Jack, wow, what a car ! Strato silver is one of my favorite colors. I have a 55 in strato silver but it's a hard top.
Good job guys. Great to see it loaded.
You got to love the constant laughing " like what are we doing here?"
haha, it took me a while to get over the scrapyard scene and the mud bog between us and the Beetle.
Lindo esse Fusca 1955,se eu estivesse aí levaria os três fuscas amo carros clássicos.
Binge watching your video's ; at 6:25, Kevin says " We should be able to bang the hubs loose and roll it out" --Your response is Gold!
thank you .....haha, without his youth and energy I think I would of just taken a nap and drove home after seeing the pond, mud and it buried in there .
Thank goodness for guys like you that save these old treasures.
we thank you Mark
Awesome save you two. You did very well considering how much mud and other obstacles were there. Can’t wait to see this car on some later episodes.
thank you Aaron , haha, i was not expecting the mud pit :). more soon and we are pulling the white vert in morning .
Dear 5150mxVW and friend.
👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! A very impressive rescue for only 4 hours work. I hope that we will soon see more of this old bug. Maybe even a carefully dented out front hood? ;-) Unfortunately the oil cap was missing. If not I would have guessed that there will be a "will it run" video.
2) I hope that you two will rescue the other bugs, especially the convertible, and the split window bus too.
As always Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you.
Hi CC , having Kevin there made it so much easier ....more on this 55 for sure . I was surprised the oil cap was missing and not the air cleaner ? I probably won't attempt a will it run even if it's unstuck / or I get it unstuck to protect the case .It could be the org case and matching #'s engine . The plan is to go back for the others so we shall see . Thank you for the great comments , best regards to you as well .
You better hurry or you will be getting the others with real snow ❄️ flakes lol
very true
The best part of youtube is to see videos like this, where joung people save and take care of those cars that were left to rust and rotten to the root.
👍
When Armstrong walked on the Moon, this old bug was settling down for a long nap.
Im looking forward to the “that definitely won’t run” episode 🤣
Great early bug though 😎👍🏻
haha ! i hope so , thank you
That was in comparison with some of your extractions Jason it went pretty well. Good rescue all there is now is time and money to bring it back to life. 🙂👍
hey Will , yeah once the drums freed up it was all good ...obviously having Kevin on hand made it seem ez . Yes, lot's of $ but it should be a matching #'s car and possibly org engine so it is worthy ....to some... ..and was definitely saved from the Samba sawzall parts dismantlers !!!!
Excellent find! 😉👍🍾
Thank you
The fact that you guys even got that Beetle outta that dump is incredible. I don’t understand how you can make any money restoring it, but I hope you do!!! Reward for the effort.
thank you Tommy, all I can say is it's a good thing Kevin was there haha. My friend Larry has the car and will restore it , he does some amazing stuff...you didn't even see the bad of this 55, it's BAD...A pillar pushed into dash and about zero rockers left, no pans ...
amazing video this time as always, love to see old cars brought back to life and sure miss the salvage yards still containing all that gold. Thanks for including us on these adventures
thank you Brian , much appreciated
Super rare indeed. Sweet find and great video.
thank you Scott
Can you e plain the rarity of this car compared to other bettles? Did he say 7 4 car?
A diamond in the rough.
👍. x10
Can't wait to see a complete resto on this. Keep us posted for sure!
thank you Doug , will do
I don't think there is anything on it that can be reused.
@@stevenc5227 haha.....it's a different mindset , some have it , some don't
@@5150mxVW It certainly is lol.
Nice Car VW Bittle
👍
An Ovali....wow this is such a beautiful find
congratz
thank you Mike
Awesome work, great save. Good luck with it
please keep us posted with updates, I would love to see how the restoration of that beauty turns out, that Beetle is one of my favorite models..good luck!
well it started today Hughe! Thank you , much appreciated
If that bug was sitting there since 1969, that means it’s sitting there just about as long as I’m alive because I was born in August of 1969. We’re like kindred spirits! Another great old bug saved from a miserable death!
Lies. Scam.
yep , i drove it in 6 months ago and heavily fertilized the trees around it haha
@@wileecoyote5749 , they are not lying. This channel is LEGIT!
you keep finding all the great ones. congrats. God bless.
Kevin found this one 😁👍, thank you Salvador
That Bug looks happy to get out of the junkyard!
Go ahead and get the convertible as well and I want the roll bars off the YJ Jeep :)
The mud didn't make it any easier. You guys don't quit! Thanks for pulling it out.
thank you Mike, Kevin did most of the work :))
Exellent work gentlemen. Another candidate for a complete restoration. Keep digging them up
what an absolutely gorgeous color. amazing video thank u both so much
the red hides the rust too! well.. some of it lol
lets see the old girl back on the road. well done lads.
Brilliant save. I can't believe you two got it out of all that mud and rubbish. 👍✔
thank you , luckily I had Kevin and his " let's do this " energy :)...edit , I didn't have HIS energy but i had Kevin haha
@@5150mxVW Oh to be young 😄
another awesome rescue. always a pleasure commitment. keep safe guys 😊
thank you
Epic! Thanks for posting..............
we thank you LP
Great video and great job getting the bug out of there.
Any 1968 or older vw is well worth the effort to rescue it.especially an oval window
My first car was a 1957 bug. 36 hp. My dad bought it for me at $200. It was in sad shape. I spent the winter rebuilding the engine and my Dad painted it bright red. It had a rag top sun roof. I drove it to Connecticut one winter from LI. Got caught in a nasty snow storm on rt 95. The bug had terrible heat in extreme cold. Snow was blowing up out of the defrost vents. I sold the car soon after that and bought a brand new 1971 Jeepster commando.
I can imagine the sigh of relief from Jen, when she finds out it's not going home this you. At least not for now. LOL
Haha ! She’s not a fan , but Josh like
It :) .
Well of coarse Josh likes it. He’s a chip off the old block.
What a sad looking bucket of bolts. Glad you saved it!
It is great that this car is saved. Your work will be rewarded.
We thank you VC
Well done guys! I thought you were calling Kevin a snowflake at first! Hope you got him home for his bedtime!
thank you , haha, noooo , never call a Guy with a sawzall snowflake :)....especially the Guy digging the Beetle out :)
I think that's a 1954! Has a batwing steering wheel, and possibly the coolest one year only paint color "ultramaroon"! Awesome!!!
hi , it is a early 55 but has snowflakes instead of eggs ...I was thinking ultra maroon myself but the vin falls one month after that color " ended " . But, you know how it went back then , use up the old parts :)
@@5150mxVW Hell Yeah!! No Alpine though!!! Haha I love watching your videos man!! You kick ass Dude!! Cant wait for the next episode!!!!!
HAHA ! yes no Alpine ! That is good thing for this car , no cut dash , but it has snow tires :). Thank you for the kind words , much appreciated Christopher .
You did it and it looks better looking forward to its recovery
Great find. Super cool to find a car lying up since the 60s!!
thank you !
Good find, guys and good luck with the restoration.
I noticed there was a Ford Cortina in front of it (next to the Jeep). Not sure if it was salvageable, but they're pretty rare now.
Oh my goodness what a find!!!! Love it brother!
thanks man !
Great to see that we saved a piece of VW history,
👍
Nice one Jason in helping your buddy out in Saving this oval. 👍
thank you Coco
Congratulations on another bug save. the bug will make for a great hobby for someone and when done it should be a real classic.
Ah man awesome score!
Thank you JP
I lived on Kauai in 85'-86'. And went to several of the other islands....veewees were very popular...there were some really hip and cool bugs and vans...I fell in love with them...I also spent alot of time in Mexico and Argentina..veewees everywhere... rock on
You two are noblemen of nature, to rescue this, a classic Vee-Dub out of a 54 year gravesite. Even if you decline going the distance, and restoring it port, starboard, bow to stern, and just get it up to a great driver, it'll be one mighty testament to your nobility!
my friend restoring this one after he finishes the current pile i dropped in his lap, a 59 ragtop . We thank you
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
thank you Donald
Great find 👍
thank you Robert
You guys are awesome...can't wait to see the resto...
thank you NM
Very impressed with your rescue. You both do fine work. Thanks for your video.
Thank you , ask me how I am doing with the white vert right now that was next to it 🤣🤦♂️:)
