Videos like this just underline why you’re an absolute BOSS. So many garages just focus on fixing the issue but never ask WHY something failed. Proper job 👍
Always check that outside temp senser is functioning correctly ....Especially if you just replaced a cheap copy mirror from e bay, keep up the good work Baz. Top man
I would always ask what would i do if it were my car and im guessing Baz if it were yours like me I would have popped in a new thermostat, and so would have given that option to the customer too
As a DIYer, I had to do much the same job on our 2011 s max recently. The engine malfunction warning started coming on a few hundred miles after I had replaced the clutch - I figured I probably damaged DPF pump or vaporiser circuit - but sure enough, replacement vaporiser, dpf clean with powatech spray, and clear learnt dpf values = all clear for the last month. I should mention my initial obd error code was p244c and then later got p246c, p2463
You didn't seem very happy with the end result, so I bet it comes back for a thermostat, you're usually right! I used to drive Iveco 7.5 ton wagons and they were constantly going into limp mode, unable to regen, even from brand new (in 2022). God knows what the cause was, nobody ever got to the bottom of it, the dealers used to say they were doing too many short journeys, but they were flat out on the motorway day and night. I bet you could have solved it!
I think that most people who drive diesel cars don't really do enough miles per day to burn out all the carbon, especially on the newer diesel with all these sensors and filters. 👍
Put a thermostat in and your sure. Don’t know how much thermostats are these days though ! The dreaded DPF, had an Jag E Pace where the light kept coming on, thankfully Jag replaced the unit under warranty👍
Top job again! 👍 Love the whole diag stuff, although need to know wha ur lookin for in values 🤔🤯 a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, always learning 🤙

Thermostats are a common issue on these. Changed a few of them. It's the complete housing, thermostat built into it.
