As someone just getting into Star Wars Legion, I want to say thank you. Your videos have given me the confidence to paint some miniatures for the first time.
you are a magician with those skin tones! been painting miniatures for years but always hate painting faces but following your guides i think ill be more confident next time :)
First off, thank you for taking the time to do this, great job on your videos they are very professional and of course awesome paint jobs. I have learnt a lot from watching them, really well explained and a lot of ideas for me. Were you going to do a video of the Rebel Strike Team? Please keep up the excellent work!!
Thanks a lot Anthony! I really appreciate that. I have produced a PDF guide for the Fleet Troopers which I will share as soon as it gets approved. I'll share it on my website (sorastro.com) and link to it here :)
WOW feels like ages since the last video. I like what you did here, I think I will change a few things to suit my taste. But that's what we all do, paint for ourselves. Nice one.
I know! I was suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms, checking my feed every couple hours, waiting for a new video. I hope he does the shadow dragons from descent next.
Sorastro's Painting: Nice! My talisman miniatures are now almost done, and I wanted to start on Descent. I have no idea yet on how to do the dragons. But the Flesh Moulders might pose a challenge too!
Amazing as always! I’ll parrot some of the other comments. I’m not a huge fan of the facial sculpt, but your painting is perfect as always. Always love your videos!
Love it man! It's a shame I've already done my Veers. I gave him black armor and a desert camo suit. Happy with the result though. But the face, oh man, wish I could paint faces the way you do... Another awesome video, good sir!
Really nice painting! Do you think Kabalite Green is a good substitution for german uniform, as a games workshop equivalent? Because i only have games workshop colors :/
Google the DakkaDakka paint compatibility chart, it lists several of the big model paints with the matching colors from other lines. Army Painter, Citadel, Vallejo Game and Vallejo Model are all listed as well as some others, a very helpful chart to be sure!
I looked through it as well and couldn't find a match for the specific green he used. I have the entire Game Air set, and a bunch of citadel greens and none seem to match this. I did a basecoat with Game Air Dark Green, but it's definitely not the same. Would love some advice as well.
perfect timing, by the time I finish my imperial scouts in tiger camo your video will give me the confidence to do han. always been so scared to paint camo till your rebel trooper video. didn't realise how easy it was :)
just wondering...how do you get rid of your mold lines? I've heard the professional painters use a chemical to help get rid of them...what's your thoughts??? And fantastic paint job by the way :)
James McRoberts: as a chemical engineer, I'd say they use a solvent. Mold lines are usually very thin, so it dissolves fast. However, it is impossible that nothing of the miniature itself will dissolve! I understand why professionals would use this, even though it will damage the mini: to save time. The best way still is to use a crafting knife and remove mold lines manually.
Hi there! OK, for German Camo Dark Green you can use Castellan Green mixed with just a little black, for German Field Grey you can mix roughly equal amounts of Castellan Green and Dawnstone, and for German Uniform you can use a roughly 3:2 mix of Warboss Green and Dark Reaper. I hope this helps :)

Thanks a lot Sam! I'm happy to hear that :)
detail on his face is truly incredible, great work!
Thanks man! Much appreciated :)
Yeah, I like the stubbly chin!
Finally! Armoured Grand Maester Pycelle by the Maestro Sorastro!
That’s a Bingo !

Thanks Carabus! (I actually finished this video a month ago but they do take quite a while to pass approval with LFL sometimes!)
Hi Anneke! I'll be doing the Shadow Dragons pretty soon.. :)
Sorastro's Painting: Nice! My talisman miniatures are now almost done, and I wanted to start on Descent. I have no idea yet on how to do the dragons. But the Flesh Moulders might pose a challenge too!
@@Sorastro LFL?
Awesome job! Any idea when we'll see some snow troopers?
Came out great, I like the highlights on the armor with the yellow glaze. Also the highlights on the boots. I find it hard to highlight black!
Thanks a lot Jonathan! Just keep the highlights generally small and tight, and go all the way up to pure white for that shiny look :)
resultado espectacular
Thank you sir! :)
Hi. Not a fan of the figures but, man, I love watching you work.
Cheers Neil! Much appreciated :)
Notification Squad, wouldn't wanna miss Sorastro XD
Ha ha cheers Dylan :)
I bought Veers they day before you released this! Lucky me! :D
Ha - nice! :)

Thanks buddy! :)
Amazing... thank you
Thank you Simon! 😀
love the skin tones. so great.
Thank you sir! :)
Great job!
Thanks Daniel! :D

Thanks man! The black armour and desert camo idea sounds great :)
Also. What was that beautiful piano piece you wrote towards minute 22??😊
Thank you! I believe I originally composed that track for the Luke Skywalker episode.. 😊
That looks fantastic! Amazing work as always, will you be doing Leia or the Fleet troopers soon?
Thank you! Yes I'll be covering Leia in a video pretty soon, and also covering the Fleet Troopers as a brief visual guide :)
Sorastro's Painting I also forgot I could probably just watch your Fleet troopers for Imperial assault haha
Really nice painting! Do you think Kabalite Green is a good substitution for german uniform, as a games workshop equivalent? Because i only have games workshop colors :/
Hi Gimbert! Kabalite Green is a bit too vibrant tbh. Try a roughly 3:2 mix of Warboss Green and Dark Reaper instead.. :)
@@Sorastro oh ok. Thank you for anwering :) I will try that
No problem! :)
Will you be doing a Laia video too?
Hi Kilrath! Yes - I'm filming the Leia episode at the moment :)
Looks great as always! Just wondering, my local store only has citidel paints, do you have a recommendation for the green base colors?
Thanks Ryan! I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know :)
Thanks! Appreciate it a lot

hanging out for a han video. but seriously love your vid's. not many out there with brush use
Thanks mate! I finished the Han video a couple of weeks ago so am hoping to be able to release it any day now 😀
perfect timing, by the time I finish my imperial scouts in tiger camo your video will give me the confidence to do han. always been so scared to paint camo till your rebel trooper video. didn't realise how easy it was :)
Oh great! I'm also going with a camo look for my Scout Troopers :D
Can you do Jyn Erso next lol
Hey there! I produced a Patreon PDF guide for Jyn ages ago; I can't remember if I put it up on my website or not though.. 🙂
So if I sign up for the patreon, would I get access to it ?
@@drbasseri Yep, it'll still be on there - there's a little search box that'll help you find it 🙂

HI James! I just scrape away as best I can with a craft knife. I don't always get every line mind you.. :)
Have you done Imperial Army Troopers yet?
Hi Klarud! Yes - here's the full playlist for the series: goo.gl/K45PpN :)
What paint would I use if I was using gameswork shop paint ???
When doing the highlights do you still water down the paints? (E.G. when you we bringing the cloak up from camo to field grey.)
Hi Ryan! Yes I do still thin the paints with water :)
Sorastro's Painting thank you for the reply! Keep making great models!
You're welcome Ryan! I'll keep doing my best :)
Top👍🏻❤️
Thank you Marcello! I'm glad you liked it :)
Why, oh, why do you remind me of 300 un(finished/started) minis in my .. actually everywhere in the room, even down on the floor )
Lol - I know the feeling :)
First like and now i can watch :D
ha - thanks Xinperor! :)
boy i guess you could say this one really...highlighted your skills? :P
Missed opportunity to say, ' boost the colours to their Maximilian'
Lol Mike :)
You're too late! I already finished... today I can't hate you... not as much... but some... HUZZA! ;)
Ha ha :D
Wow! And only one single brush!
Thanks Jeffery! Yep - I don't like to needlessly swap brushes around all the time :)
Great paintig, but I don't really like the figure
Thanks Das! I'm glad you liked the painting anyway :)
The Leia model isn't impressing anyone. Many say a good paint job and it may look good. If you can't do it no one can. Great as always
Ha ha - thanks Stephen; I'll do my best! :)
