02:06 How does North Korea educate about the United States?
10:53 American culture that can be seen in North Korean life
As an American, I feel overwhelming sympathy for the people in the DPRK. They suffer so much and I just wish we could help the people without Un just taking it all for himself. I do understand why the Kim regime hates us, however. Our existence and partnership with the South stopped Kim Il Sung from taking the whole peninsula. If I was an authoritarian dictator, I'd be mad about being stopped too.
Please be well and make sure you drink lots of water!
It’s a little funny that North Korea is still this focused on America when, in general, we don’t really think about North Korea. What I mean is, our news barely discusses them unless something just happened, they aren’t considered something we have to worry about
Because no news makes it out of their country...media is entirely state-run. All we can learn about NK are things they do out in the open like rocket tests etc.
Tbh, the South is very similar, despite the proximity. Most of them don't even know anything is happening until something really happens
I hope that someday, the people of North Korea will be free.
To be fair, during George Bush's presidency, there were a lot of comedy shows in the US calling him "stupid" too 😆
Generally, most Americans learn about North Korea around middle school (age 12 to 14) but its more centered around discussions of America's involvement in the Korean War, current events or as an example when discussing the different types of governments in the world. It becomes a sort of a small fascination when learning about it, as its sort of portrayed as the antithesis to America ideologically. It's not uncommon for students to look up more on it just because I think it's hard to grasp what living in that oppressive of a society would be like, it's just so foreign to us. I'm surprised to hear how much they know about our culture and media while being told to hate us, and its interesting to hear what contradictions were noticed. But outside of belittling Kim, the feeling is just somber and sad. We were raised with the idea that our country tends to be the one to go to other countries and try to help (only then to wonder how much good it actually did when we're older) and just wishing we could do something, or having something happen that would give us the opportunity. As divided as a country we can sometimes be, our gut reaction tends to be to immediately think about ways to right oppression and injustice, but feel frustrated when we can't figure out how.
I love that you two escaped, and I'm sorry for what happened to you. But I can't keep up with the subtitles, you both speak very quickly. Respect and love to you both.
They are so cute. I'll always click on the thumbnail when I see them.
You guys should react to the videos of Koreans during the L.A. riots. Rooftop Koreans
You don't see riots going through Chinatown anymore, that's for sure 😂❤❤
@squizzyicetea you should google it. Has nothing to do with Chinatown. Its the Rodney King riots when the Koreans armed stopped them from burning down koreatown. Check things out before messaging
Heroes
We need more rooftop Koreans.
@@squizzyicetea wtf are you talking about?
Heartbreaking. Hope they can all one day meet the global community.
You are a very cute couple together------ and hope you have all the success & happiness in the world.
This is a great channel.
I think having a car is actually cheaper than a trip to the hospital. Though it depends on the car n how badly u need car at said hospital.
Freedom is extremely costly. Many have to be willing to sacrifice their lives to obtain it. I can't say if I'd fight or not is I was in North Korea. But I do know I wouldn't be free now if generations of Americans weren't willing to sacrifice themselves and their families for that freedom. It's worth it if you can fight. We all die , wouldn't it be better to live first?
America love to God.God bless to all.
2 seconds in an they hold their hands 🙌 in position like they’re not allowed to use the / expression
What do you think of Canada?
How smart do I have to be to realize how stupid I am?
Someone should do a video of what werewolves think about vampires.
Filming on north Korea inside or outside?
If inside advance rest in peace ✌🏻
🥵🥵🥵
We are not your mortal enemy.
By contrast, the average American rarely or even never thinks about North Korea.
Hopefully this isn’t rude, but at least for me, it’s not that I don’t ever think of North Korea, I’d just rather not. I want nothing to do with them except hope in the future the citizens can live in peace and like they want to without this terror stuff going on
lol the average american rarely thinks
@@lemonisqueezi So, you aren't very familiar with reality....
@@barryfletcher7136 so, you aren’t skibidi fortnite rizz mental gyatt lil bro?
@@lemonisqueezi What?
To be fair, due to the way our system is set up, there *are* lots of people in America who can't afford to go to the hospital, everything is commodified, and most of the wealth belongs to a handful of oligarchs and corporations, so that particular point is very on the money
Still far better than North Korea. Check your privilege.
Under capitalism, you sometimes get bread lines. Under communism, you sometimes get bread.
@@ManiaMac1613 they highlighted a valid point. Also, zero reasonable people are advocating for a totalitarian "communist" system -- only balance
JUNG KOOK?
They can drive a car but not afford a hospital? Yes. That is exactly how it is in the USA. 🙃
Yeah I was like...that's accurate unfortunately
Whomever does your captions needs spelling lessons.
I can't listen to this. They talk so damn fast that I can't read the translation.
This time at ,God send to Jesus . So all worship to Jesus. Because, Jesus is savior(or) Lord for all on earth. And then, Jesus give to eternal life .We will get. So. You love to Jesus. I want to see to Christians group(or) Christians nations. And then, future . We live with Jesus and all .God bless to you and all.
The sad part of everything is the majority of our college students in USA are taught the North Korean way of life is the best and the capitalist west is wrong.
This is impressively delusional. I'd almost feel bad for you if it wasn't so damn funny! Go on, say another one.
if you said "china" instead, i could actually get behind your statement some. the ccp uses transnational repression and other techniques to bully even people who have never stepped foot outside the us and europe into doing their bidding.
but north korea? where tf you getting *that* from?
I don't understand why the US Government gives Kim such a hard time. Here is proof that Kim allows Americans into his country to ask his people and military questions about what they love about America. You think the US would allow the opposite to happen, HELL NO!
Just so you know, both of these individuals are North Korean defectors who fled from North Korea and it's dictatorship.
They do not reside in North Korea any more. They are only free to share their views and opinions because they left.
Um. These 2 have left the NK regime and now reside in Seoul, SK. They literally say it in the video several times.
All of the North Koreans interviewed on this channel reside in South Korea. lol
bait used to be believable
this is fake, these actors are South koreans
