She has great parents who supported her all along. They raised her well. Thanks to them. I also like the fact that her sisters contribute, as make up artist and costume designer. Amazing family.
Wow, what a beautifully worded and accurate sentiment her mother spoke to her. Aurora's message of kindness and embracing your "weirdness" is so important. So many of us feel like misfits, or like something is wrong with us, because so many people in the world make us feel that way. (Directly and indirectly) Aurora reminds us to celebrate ourselves as the innately unique and beautiful creations we all are, and to strive to be kinder and better and more forgiving; of yourself as well as others. She's just a gem, who has a wisdom FAR beyond her years. 💎 She pulled me back from the edge, and helped me see my life differently. She made me realise that I can be at home in my own skin. She was definitely my much needed medicine. 🌻

Another great reaction! Aurora has said that she means lucky in the sense we are all lucky to be here on this earth. Aurora has experienced the loss of several friends, including one of her best in a car accident. She has a very deep sense of her own mortality, but not in a morbid way. What an abiding lifetime memory for those who were fortunate enough to attend this magical event. When simply viewing brings chills, what must it have been like to be there? As you said, simplicity is the key and in Aurora's case it is the accumulation of a range of simple elements - the lilt of her accent, her extremely clear annunciation, her piercing gaze, her fluid (and depending on the emotion, sometimes not so fluid) motions etc - then when the more complicated elements (her views of issues, her way with words, the music, venue, staging, supporting performers etc) are added it is a devastating combination. Sometimes "unique" is over used or not quite accurately applied but in Aurora's case the true meaning of the term is spot on.

Thank you for this information!!! I've always related this song with Aurora's sister bipolar disorder, but I had no idea whether she's really inspired Aurora to write it.
The songs aren't connected they have their own inspirations and she's said in an interview, 'None of my songs are about me'. You should look into her more, it's part of getting to really know her and enjoy her even more. There are interviews on youtube and plenty of sources online to find easily. I've listened and watched her a bit every day since January and reading the reactions there are plenty of misunderstandings or misinformation mixed in. Looking for her own words and feelings might help.
Hello again my friend. Another one in the books. And another awesome reaction 🔥🔥🔥 You know, I start to feel that I'm getting to know you a bit now, and so I'm really excited to see your reaction to the "The Seed" music video. I have a distinct feeling that it's going to be right down your alley. Some really dramatic footage and beautiful choreography. It's definitely on MY very top Aurora. Looking forward to that. Stay safe and stay blessed. Love from Norway ❤️
Yes, sir you descreibe this masterpiece very well. The only thing you doesn't mentioned was the atmosphere in the perfomance ....or did you...for me this is the most perfect emotional performance i have seen and heard.... period. Great, great reaction. For me this is the ultimate anti-suicide song.
Love this performance. So emotional, beautiful and mesmerizing. As i wrote comment with my interpretation yesterday under other video I will just copy it here: In my interpretation it is about depression so big it could end with suicide ("offering"). But then this someone feels/saw the light for a first time = found a reason to live and a light/hope in this whole darkness and changed mind. But fight still goes on as she sings on the end I am lucky to be alive with some sadness. But it is sad song with positive message. As even in a darker and most desperate time you can find a light you only need to survive these hard times and it will be better. Also it is mind blowing that 9 year old person can thing about such thing and write something like that. Of course maybe it was polished somehow later but it is mind blowing anyway. She is IMHO unique personality. Thx for a reaction.
She is very much naturally an introvert, but also is very grounded in who she is and her music. She often refers to her songs as her children, and I think she is most comfortable while performing them. She is somewhat awkward and shy while not performing, though often witty and hilarious. An INFP if you will.
I have been enjoying your Aurora reactions. It looks like you are getting great suggestions for what to listen to next. I think you would really like "Infections of a Different Kind" from the HAIK concert. But you really can't go wrong with anything of hers.
I know you reacted to this over a year ago but ive just watched it again and thought id comment .Regards the song Lucky she wrote the music or had the tune in her head at 9 yrs old , she added lyrics at around 15 , she did mention this in a interview i recall. Regards the venue , her management had to fight for the venue because the powers that be regarded some of her songs inappropriate for the venue. Well she is a Heathen afterall.
Great reactions. I appreciate the way you take her music in. I've subbed! ✌ She is a soothing balm for my soul. I feel honored to be alive when I hear her music. She has given me a massive gift that I'll be eternally gratefully for.
Great reaction again, and don't worry will stick with you even if you've done ''Lucky'' :-) Liitle thing that I got to know from Aurora by watching evrything that i could find on her: she started creating music and song to be able to manage some of the emotion that she was feeling, coming from news-paper, or friend around her or herself, she didn't know how to deal with those emotion and creating music helped her, it was her healing tool. She is an empath, hyper sensitive, very intelligent but not understanding much about human, so she does music. Music that now heal us. For her, singning those song is like reopening a little drawer where she put that emotion and sink in it like it was at the start, that is where she is when she ''perfome'' she is not repeating the same song over and over, she is re-living that emotion. Happy to follow your discovering path.
A real test of one’s Aurora-ness is Queendom. It can be a good filter that lets through those who love acceptance, inclusion, and kindness. A test for tissues is the unreleased “Why Did You Have to Go.” It’s so very touching and should be preceded by learning the story behind it.
In listening to Aurora’s lyrics with the knowledge that she was so young when she wrote them, has always left me wondering if she isn’t one of those rare people who come into life with memories from a possible previous lifetime. The way she expresses herself as she sings lends to this idea, in that it seems as she’s working out experiences from distant past life and explaining all that she may have learned from it. It’s the music and words are pouring into the top of her head and flowing out through her entire being as she performs. Kind of deep and mystical thinking I know, but that’s what her music has always left me pondering.
Great reaction 😊👍 Even though she wrote such lyrics at a young age, Aurora has been very clear that she had a happy childhood. Like someone else mentioned, I think it was her way of dealing with difficult emotions, experiences and thougts, writing these songs.
If you think that not crying through an Aurora song is something you have to fight to accomplish, you should probably watch The River, Auroras song about men allowing themselves to cry.
Another very talented Norwegian singer you should check out is Angelina Jordan. She won Norway's Got talent at 8 yrs. old. She's 15 now, has over 130 covers, mostly old blues covers.
This is one of the songs where she has never said what was the inspiration of the song, only kinda repeating the lyric in that we are all lucky to be alive and we should appreciate that and not squander it. But this is one of her songs that Aurora has said is very personal to her, Runaway is another. One of Aurora's sisters is Bi-Polar, and one running theory is that this is a song Aurora wrote about how she saw her sister living with that disease. The duality of a person living with this condition, how in a short amount of time, they can go from happy to complete despair, "a war behind 'their' eyes" if you will, then come out of that, sadly to fight the same battle another day. And like she wrote in the song, some days they can feel too numb to even bother fighting it. What ever the meaning behind the song though, i find the message in it quite obvious. Keep fighting, never give up, it won't be easy, but one day you will find the light at the end of that tunnel.
Pure, always think this word when she sings. She’s just fascinating to watch but the content of her songs is from someone much older (soul) than she is. I think she’s magical, regards from a new subscriber, I’m hoping you give Diana Ancudinova a listen also as she’s very hauntingly different and Pentatonic are also AMAZING. They do a first class rendition of Bohemian Rapsody btw. Mandy UK x
Is she an artistic and musical activist? Just seen her a few times and it seems like she feels so deeply and creates a visual and a story with her beautiful vocals.
Hey there Felipe! The next one is The Seed. Several people are suggesting the Haik version but it looks like the overwhelming request is the music video, so I might need to toss a coin...
The incident you alluded may have been the one in Thailand, in 2018. A group of footballers on a caving trip were trapped. Or perhaps one of a number of mining incidents in recent years ( there have been instances in Australia, China, Chile and New Zealand) where there were trapped survivors who were eventually rescued.
Really nice reaction/analysis!!! After listening to this hundreds on times I’m pretty sure it’s about overcoming suicidal thoughts and ultimately deciding to move forward with living life. Excited to see your reaction to The Seed, it’s possibly her greatest song. The music video is a must watch, maybe also check out her live performance of The Seed at the HAIK, it’s amazing as well.
You should look up the word Sprite (European Mythology), that is how I see Aurora. Her power is to gently pull us into her world. She knows we need a respite from this harsh world. That is why I often cry from her songs, that this world should be better.
The Nidarosdomen concert is a once in a life time concert for Aurora (and us). NRK (the Norwegian brodcaster) went "all in" on it. A "setup" with Nidarosdomen, Trondheim Solistene (one of the best string Orchestras in Norway), Oslo Fagottkor (choir) is not the avrage for a Norwegian artist 😎🇳🇴.
I just love Aurora, she always makes we cry, yes your right about your first thought being angelic, I try to finish off my watching binge with one of her music videos. If you liked the Running with wolfs video, then You need to watch her other music videos that maybe? won't cause so many tears, but still give you goosebumps Cure for me The seed Animal Apple tree Queendom
The song you were trying to think of was “Conquer” Conan performance was good but If were up to me after seeing her perform that on the Honda Stage, it is way more enjoyable especially her cute interactions with the audience. Thanks again.
I like the performance of "Conqueror" on the Jimmy Fallons show, don't think it was Conan. It was her first debut performance in the US and she absolutely kills it.

Not sure if anyone else has suggested this, but I'm sure you would enjoy her appearance with fellow Norwegians Wardruna performing the song Helvegen. Well worth your time, I promise.
But rather than the usual version, try this one in a fabulous setting with the same choir as in the Nidarosdomen concert:- ua-cam.com/video/cg0TQyjdHJ0/v-deo.html
@@TheVirtualWatcher That version... Cool setup and acoustics, but I honestly cannot stand the rudeness and inconsiderateness of the the crowd up front. Just because you got fancy camera rigs and recording gear doesn't give you the right to run around in front of all the other fans like monkeys on coke, talking loudly and basically ruining a wonderful experience for everyone else in attendance.
Only one minute in and... man what a nonsens chalenge to not cry over Aurora music, geeez, next video: ''The River'' that she wrote to tell man that they can cry too. ;-)
@@larryshair Celine is right. She wrote “The River” particularly to tell them that as she heard that the suicide rate was higher in men vs women, and her response was to tell men to stop repressing their emotions.. that it’s good to let go and let the river run.. otherwise I think she is right: if it’s held in, not released, it gets turned on oneself. I’m bingeing your videos precisely because you are open and it’s such a joy to re-experience the first times with you. You have a lovely kindness about you.
A nine year old writing: war....inside my mind, behind my eyes is calming down.... where does it come from? Looking forward to The Seed. A completely different vibe, but with an enormous power behind it. Listen to the details in the lyrics. "..... we are burning our fingers, but learn and forget..... It is more than a popsong.
NRK the official Norwegian TV channel have a long history of producing very high quality live music and Aurora in Nidarosdomen is one of the very best ever. Also the acoustics in the cathedral is just fantastic. Just saying a word is turned into music when the echos come back.
My take on this song is it is when you have gone through a personal tragedy and you know you have to move on. You know it’s going to be hard but you have to do at some point. Nothing in the future can hurt as much as the present. So you tell yourself I can do this I am lucky to be alive. But still you feel scared of what lies in front
You need to do the KEXP radio show it will show you her mostly fun side with her real band cant miss Churchyard is a hoot the Music just takes her over...
What I can recommend is 'All the soft inside - live on KEXP' and 'Conqueror - live from the tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon'. It is quite a different atmosphere but i'm sure you'd like it :) Thanks for your reaction. I really liked it.
Love your way to do these Videos. If you realy want to tear Up, she wrote a Song for the funeral of a good friend, who died in a caracident "Why did you go a place i couldnt follow". Ist unreleast, but there is a nice Version where you can see Aurora being herselfe.
Nice once again, i really like your approach on the songs! The song you´re thinking of is Conqueror at Tonight Show with Kimmy Fallon. When doing the Seed, i recommend doin the offical video of that song first, because it is a very well produced video that builds up on the songs message. Then later you could do a "live" version of Seed from her Haik-concert. I would also recommend doing Exist for love, first the video version. And you should absolutly do some of her covers, especially David Bowie's Life on mars. But you would love her versions of Massive Attacks Teardrop, Imagine dragons Beleiver, Arianne Grande's God is a woman and Beatles Across the universe. And i would also recommend to look Churchyard (Live on KEXP).
Not 11 for "Murder Song" but for "Runaway". While some of her compositions stem from a very young age, I think there has probably been some tweaks to the originals. This of course takes nothing away from her very singular perspective on issues and emotions.
I believe this song is about suicide. Before she makes the sacrifice, she thinks of all the people she’s met… the marks that settled on her skin (cutting); but she survives or doesn’t go through it- she’s lucky to be alive.
I forgot I had idea when you were talking. It's better if you watch the concerts after you do the individual songs because it'll be more satisfying for you and if you already commented on the songs you just going to comment basically the same thing.
you also need to react to her fantastic cover versions of David Bowie, The Beatles, Ariane Grande, Leonard Cohen, Bonney M, etc, some of the covers she just had one hour to learn, make a version and perform live.
Well...you have listened to her RUNAWAY...a pure gem...open for interpretations of many kind...written by her at the age of ~ 14 (?)...following this link you will get the meaning of the song explained by herself...in her own words...and also...in her own way...would love to see your reaction to this...you will respect her even more and on another level... ua-cam.com/video/P_-aEdRG95I/v-deo.html

Thank you for this information!!! I've always related this song with Aurora's sister bipolar disorder, but I had no idea whether she's really inspired Aurora to write it.
she also doesnt look 100%...
She started to write this song when she was nine, the rumours tells. Finished rewritten close to her first record in 2016. Impressive piece of art
There is magic in the very first word. It's rare to be so completely captured by just one word.
Another great reaction. Another great performance.
Hello again my friend. Another one in the books. And another awesome reaction 🔥🔥🔥
You know, I start to feel that I'm getting to know you a bit now, and so I'm really excited to see your reaction to the "The Seed" music video. I have a distinct feeling that it's going to be right down your alley. Some really dramatic footage and beautiful choreography. It's definitely on MY very top Aurora.
Looking forward to that.
Stay safe and stay blessed. Love from Norway ❤️
Thank you! Good to see you pop up in the comments! Blessings from California!
Looking forward to more. Thanks for your thoughts. 🙏 thanks. “The River” lyrics says “you can cry”. Sooo all is good. Lol.
lol, nice!
Thank you! It's sometimes difficult to put the meaning together in a reaction until you have some time to re-listen to the song again. Amazing song.
Love this performance. So emotional, beautiful and mesmerizing. As i wrote comment with my interpretation yesterday under other video I will just copy it here:
In my interpretation it is about depression so big it could end with suicide ("offering").
Thank you Violet! Love your hair!
Well she is a Heathen afterall.
hi im new here and found ur videos i discover aurora when i was 16 and now im 22 and i freaking love her and thank u for reaction !!!
Great reactions. I appreciate the way you take her music in. I've subbed! ✌
She is a soothing balm for my soul.
Thank you Celine! Blessings!
A real test of one’s Aurora-ness is Queendom. It can be a good filter that lets through those who love acceptance, inclusion, and kindness.
A test for tissues is the unreleased “Why Did You Have to Go.” It’s so very touching and should be preceded by learning the story behind it.
Haha don’t need to try not to cry. Listen to “The River” by AURORA where she implores us to let the tears flow.
Literally have thought the same exact thing multiple times.
Love ya, buddy. Nice kitchen!
Thank you! U2!
Runaway was writyen at 11 , I went too far was written at 11 but she changed some of the lyrics at 16
It IS a church. My cousins funeral service was held there.
Would love to se you react to Auroras collaboration with Askjell in ”Sofia”. Its way beyond emotional….and she doesnt even use words.
Great reaction 😊👍 Even though she wrote such lyrics at a young age, Aurora has been very clear that she had a happy childhood. Like someone else mentioned, I think it was her way of dealing with difficult emotions, experiences and thougts, writing these songs.
If you think that not crying through an Aurora song is something you have to fight to accomplish, you should probably watch The River, Auroras song about men allowing themselves to cry.
.... and she was 9 yo when she wrote Lucky, unbelievable!
This is one of the songs that you can really tell that Leonard Cohen is one of her biggest influences.
Understood
Something wrong with her also...how she moving, and use her eyes it isnt normal.
Watch The Seed (Haik version) and Exist for Love (studio version)
Hey there Felipe! The next one is The Seed. Several people are suggesting the Haik version but it looks like the overwhelming request is the music video, so I might need to toss a coin...
The incident you alluded may have been the one in Thailand, in 2018. A group of footballers on a caving trip were trapped. Or perhaps one of a number of mining incidents in recent years ( there have been instances in Australia, China, Chile and New Zealand) where there were trapped survivors who were eventually rescued.
Yes, that's what I was recalling! The football players! Thank you very much! Itch scratched lol
If you liked the Running with wolfs video, then You need to watch her other music videos that maybe? won't cause so many tears, but still give you goosebumps
Cure for me
The seed
Animal
Apple tree
Queendom
Thank you, Susan!
The song you were trying to think of was “Conquer” Conan performance was good but If were up to me after seeing her perform that on the Honda Stage, it is way more enjoyable especially her cute interactions with the audience. Thanks again.
I also love the version that she did SXSW 2016. It's outdoors with no audience and is more stripped back than the Honda Stage version.
I like the performance of "Conqueror" on the Jimmy Fallons show, don't think it was Conan. It was her first debut performance in the US and she absolutely kills it.
@@jamesreese4170 Lets be honest, you just can’t miss with this girl lol. 🙏 I’m gonna check that one out too.
I know you are reacting to and finding 'new' artists, which is awesome, nonetheless, you've only just touched the 'tip' of the Aurora Iceberg.....
Great song/Great Reaction......
Can't wait for more Aurora!
Coming up next, brother!
You made my day🙂 Thank you so much for another heartfelt reaction to this masterpiece 🙏🙏 You mentioned you love movie music, and guess what, Aurora was the whispering voice in Disney's movie Frost 2. And her "Running with the Wolves" was nominated for an Oscar in the cartoon movie "The Wolfwalkers" this year I believe or last year. Check it up on your own if you don't want to react to it🙂🙂 So looking forward to "The Seed" MV. And you won't cry this time I believe, just enjoy🥰🥰
Thank you Anne! I heard about her Frozen singing from another viewer and I was BLOWN AWAY! That was such a nice surprise!!!
Ni-da-ros-do-men: Ni, like nee in needle. Da, like the Da in Darth Wader. Ros sounds like rose. Do, like the do in dorito. Men just like men. Now you can try. Since you are about to move in with Aurora anyway 😏 Greetings from Norway.
Not sure if anyone else has suggested this, but I'm sure you would enjoy her appearance with fellow Norwegians Wardruna performing the song Helvegen. Well worth your time, I promise.
But rather than the usual version, try this one in a fabulous setting with the same choir as in the Nidarosdomen concert:-

Added to the list! This is the first time I have heard someone comment on that song at this point that I can recall.
Only one minute in and... man what a nonsens chalenge to not cry over Aurora music, geeez, next video: ''The River'' that she wrote to tell man that they can cry too. ;-)
Thank you Celine ; ) I'm trying to put on a strong face as I know what I'm in for, especially when someone warns me to bring the Kleenex lol.
💚💚💚💚
Notre Dame Cathedral was constructed for Aurora
Cool, thanks!
Please! 7:06 correct title is Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)
I believe this is the 1st song she ever wrote, she was 7 i believe.
mind...blown....
Here is her statement about "Lucky" from an interview. (Taken from the Aurora Aksnes Wiki fan page):
"She explained the song's meaning to The 405:
Hello Again!, hey, there is nothing wrong with tears when music or something else moves you to it..
Thanks Jeff! She just brings those tears out almost every time! I think given her age and the context of her songs just floors me.
You need to react to the video of the seed..
Thank you! That is up next :)
I'm curious how you will react when you see her latest music video "Cure for me", it's kinda different but amazing and lots of fun.
Love your way to do these Videos. If you realy want to tear Up, she wrote a Song for the funeral of a good friend, who died in a caracident "Why did you go a place i couldnt follow". Ist unreleast, but there is a nice Version where you can see Aurora being herselfe.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thanks again, Knutg!
Warriors cry too ;)
Bravo!!!!
Even as child, Aurora has been a little obsessed with death.
That's such a tremendous weight for a child to carry. I just want to give her a hug!
You should listen Exist for love, official video VEVO, I like your reactions and have a great w
Thank you MB!
She is not from these parts she comes from the Angelics!
Agreed!
you also need to react to her fantastic cover versions of David Bowie, The Beatles, Ariane Grande, Leonard Cohen, Bonney M, etc, some of the covers she just had one hour to learn, make a version and perform live.
Love these reactions you should react to wardruna ft Aurora helvegen
to think she was 9 years old when she wrote this..........
When you said she's in a sacred place you weren't kidding: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nidaros_Cathedral
Incredible!

I’m just putting this here. This is my personal favourite performance of hers so far.
