OH GOD PLEASE NO! NO GOD PLEASE NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!
Fun fact: The Sonic XL mod was sold as a bootleg in Costa Rica from January 2020 to December 2021 in the form of a cartridge from the original classic Sonic game
Lol
Great. Now Costa Rican kids can see and play Sonic slowly get obese after eating lots of onion rings.
Cool!
Does that count as anti-american propoganda, because of the... yk
kid "finally I got a Sonic game!!!
*boots up and plays*
woah this looks good!!
*grabs rings*
uhhh... why is sonic's belly bigger? I didn't know that was in Sonic.
Conner The Waffle: The Movie
True LMAO
Now in theaters.
Now we need an anime adaptation 😁
Waffle*
But lazy edited
Who would’ve known that the bootleg handheld video game console from the Amazing World of Gumball existed in real life? I wonder if it was also made in Chainor & bought from the Awesome Store, too.
No not the awesome store it’s the AWESOME STORE!!!
The real life one came first.
Eh, this comment was just a joke, anyway.
1:14:58
I mean Ashens had tat videos and a film about it and everything XD
"Mini game anniversary edition" was actually sold in a local mall near me and I have no idea how they got it in stock and why they were never sent a Cease and Desist from big Ninty when passion project fangames almost always do
Because passion project fan-games have an actual person they can target for legal action. These bootlegs are behind so many proverbial (and literal) proxies it can take literal years to find a dude that was in the room when the prototype was put together.
Big Ninty lol
@@andrejg4136 So you're saying fan game creators need to do that too, right?
Says that the NES gave birth to some amazingly cute characters. Lists Mappy and Kirby, two characters that didn't originate from the NES
Mappy was an arcade game, Kirby's Dream Land is on the Game Boy
@@Nbrother1607 Exactly my point...
The game child has existed in one form or another since around the same time as the gameboy itself, though back then they were primitive lcd games and even more of a bootleg.
Exactly! It existed long before Gumball. It’s far more likely that the show was inspired by the bootleg and not the other way around.
I will forever think of ashens whenever I hear of the game child
Yeah, it's a PopStation. And we know Stuart Ashen loves those consoles, don't we??
@@therunawaykid6523 Didnt he make a movie about it?
@@YourBuddyDinec yes he did! Also the Polybius heist is the follow up film but I haven't watched that one yet
These were pretty common in Brazil in the 2000s and 2010s, especially the Famiclones.
Bootlegs are truly fastinating to me. I see them a lot everywhere and with Nintendo consoles, there is a lot of them. I think I watched your videos because you reviewed and played a bunch of video game bootlegs and that's why I was interested with your channel. :)
Me too, bootlegs are awesome
Yeah I always can’t believe they can get away with it, I also am fascinated by them
Same friendo, I find bootlegs interesting, especially now when it's so easy to emulate most legitimate games.
Uhh the Gamechild predates The Amazing World of Gumball by about 20 years
I don’t think I would have ever heard of the game child if it wasn’t for ashens to be honest
Yeah, it didn't appear in the show first, it was literally made to cash in on the success of the GameBoy.... It's a PopStation. And we all know Stuart Ashen loves the PopStation line of cheap consoles, don't we???
The Egg Contest game is truly a great game from a series of games called "Dizzy" is a series of video games, created by the Oliver Twins and published by Codemasters. It was one of the most successful British video game franchises of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Originally created for the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC."
I was going to comment about this. He we even see the name "Dizzy" on the bed though I recognized Dizzy before that came up.
Dizzy was a fantastic series. I had a bunch for the C64. And that Lawn Mower game was awfully close to Llamasoft's Hover Bovver. Classics!
I grew up in South Africa where we only had bootlegs from China and Russia cause of apartheid. You can still walk into just about any China shop and buy a console and carts for it
I love that now, with Nintendo Switch Online, you can get GameBoy games on the switch and they run perfectly fine. Same with GBA games with the Nintendo Switch Online +. And if you want N64 games, NES games, SNES games, or even Genesis games... the Switch can play those too.
Nintendo saw the bootleg roms of their games and were like, "hey. Why not sell our own roms of our games!"
To be honest it's more like renting. Even with the wii U they made people pay again for virtual console games people already bought on wii.
You could and have a restricted selection or………just emulate everything 😏😉
@@BelladonnaPup It's more money for them to get you subscribed to something than it is to try and get you to pay $5-10 on the one off chance that you want to play "old game" again. That's why media houses would prefer you subscribe to [insert streaming service] than buy DVD/Blu-Rays of old shows. Though if you wanna double dip, that's fine too...
Little heads up the gamechild wasn't created after gumball it was actually released sometime in the 90s trying to rip off gullible people in the UK and China
When you said "I'm just going to keep this warm over here" with the animated bat dancing baseball bat, you gained a new subscriber, because you made me laugh.
28:39 that's a Wacky Races reskin lmaoo
Lol I knew what it was as soon as I saw that title screen xD
Why is it always Wacky Races having shitty reskins???
40:25 I remember seeing an Ebay listing for a "N64 HDMI cable", and by the image, it looked like it improved the N64 so much it could play Splatoon 2! 🤦♂
7:07
...wait, WHAT?!
that thing is real?!
I thought that was just a joke system that The Amazing World of Gumball made to make fun of those bootleg game systems you might find in The Dollar Store or other low budget places.
It's real, alright. I believe it rose in infamy with a UA-cam channel known as "Ashens," where that one screenshot comes from. There's even a movie "dedicated" to the device.
21:12 DOUBLE DEE!!! I was drawing him while listening to this actually, what a coincidence!
(Also the Ed Edd n’ Eddy sound effect at 31:16)
21:48 the game is a British nes game called the fantastic adventures of dizzy. He was a popular mascot here in the uk and was ported to lots of home computers. For the nes release he was released unlicensed on the aladdin cart.
I had a friend who got the nes classic and he’d brag about it to anyone who would listen. He never had any interest in the nes before it was announced (in fact to be honest I don’t think he even knew what it even was). I remember he played it for 10 minutes, though the graphics were bad and left it in his closet where I’m pretty sure it still sits to this very day. What a waste 🙄
So... What are you waiting for? Steal it
2:30 I swear that’s a JonTron reference. Throwback to his Plug and Play video.
IM GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT CAUGHT THAT. IT HAS TO BE
@@G01NGP0ZT4L EXACTLY
6:53 I actually have a ripped version of this game on my 30 game joystick that’s also just 30 bootlegged/rom hacked games. But it’s called “hero spud” and is exactly identical but doesn’t have the curl on his head. Grew up playing it for years not knowing all those games were bootlegged
Ashens did a movie about the gamechild too lol
Yes “the quest for the game child” is a absolute classic still watch ashens channel today
Real shame Conner didn't do any research or check his facts, because he thought it came from Gumball.
I like the Chintendo Vii mascots. Their designs are pretty wacky! I think they have great potential! Maybe I'll make a game about them when I eventually learn how to make games
Your OC's so adorable! I wanna fluff his soft hair and hug him... X3
WAIT I RECOGNIZE EGG BOY THATS FANTASTIC DIZZY FROM THE GAME GEAR, although it looks like a weird remake or something
I think that egg game is from a series called "Dizzy." I'm not very familiar with it because I don't think it was very popular stateside, instead being more or less a household name "across the pond."
Yes, that egg game is Dizzy.
over all its not "Complete" there is this one system that I saw at my local mall and its NEVER on these lists and I forgot the name of it and that's why I look up these lists, to remember its name.
I'll give you hints should you ever find it
1 It came out BEFORE the Wii
2 It came out AFFTER the SNES
3. It wasn't a hand held
4. It had SMB1 with the worst music and sound quality ever
also the Commodore 64, Amiga PC, colecoVision and Intellivision each had knock offs. Look those up some time.
(5:44) I immediately recognised that as a Zuma clone!
(6:49) That somehow looks to me like a Lode Runner clone.
(17:05) This is the first time I've seen a Famicom game show a controller graphic in the game itself, as I didn't think any Famicom or NES game would do so in-game instead of just in the instruction booklets if they did so there.
(37:11) That reminds me so hard of the scam tablets on Lazada, old low-end stuff modified in software to seem high end, and photos that don't look like the product that buyers receive. Through the reviews, I could see that so many people fell for the scam.
(38:57) It looked more like MS-DOS to me than Windows 95.
(40:54) At that point, I realised that this is just many videos strung together without a clear indication of it being an episode compilation!
That lode runner clone
Cloned the pac mania title screen lol
20:13 😂 I almost busted out, laughing at 2 AM
29:12 Oh my God, it’s Grand Dad from an alternate dimension
48:12 In theory if you boot up the console with no cartridge the device will show some built-in games.
I HAD THE ZONE 60 or a very similar device when i was like 10!!! i remember begging my mom to get it for me at an outlet store because it only cost about $20 and i thought it would be like a cheaper version of a wii. lmao i couldn’t even get the motion controls to work
That Lion King game on the Smitch was a reskin of Wacky Races for the NES. There were a few decent titles on NES that featured Hanna Barbera cartoons. You're supposed to be Muttley trying to take out the other racers for Dick Dastardly.
Why is it always Wacky Races being the subject of shameless reskinning?! If the Smich wanted a Lion King game on it, why didn't they just put the NES port on the system??
@@ChaseMC215
My guess is that the way the game was programmed allowed Chinese bootleggers to easily swap sprites without having to change much of the game's code.
From what I could tell, there were some bootleg games on the 'Double Match' Famiclone that were similar sprite edits.
One of the games was the Tiny Toon Adventures NES game that, if I recall correctly, got a sprite edit to replace Buster with Mario, but whoever made the resulting bootleg Super Mario game forgot to change the animated death sprite.
There was a Jackie Chan NES game (according to someone in the comments on the TweeterMan287 review) that I think also got a sprite edit to turn it into another bootleg Super Mario game, but the bootleggers who made that forgot to change the sprite for when the player character was up against a wall.
Besides that, there was another bootleg Super Mario game that was a sprite edit of Caveman Ninja.
39:52 That Astro Boy poster was from the Astro Boy movie
Judging by the background of the Harry Potter game, I'm thinking it might have been Aladdin. Harry on a broom could be Al (or maybe just Din) on his magic carpet
connor destroying the PVP was probably the most fun he had throughout the entire video
If i ever get big on UA-cam, i will NEVER accept a promo from Raid Shadow Legends, anything else is fair game
Fun fact about Door Door: it was made by the team who would later create Dragon Quest.
Used to play Door Door quite a bit. I actually liked the idea in its simplicity. Then I ended playing Dragon Quest (or Warrior?) 4 and then 3. I only played played 1 & 2 earlier on the GB. I remember when a UA-cam vid brought up the connection of Door Door and Dragon Quest. It made me realize how great developers start with simple products.
God I remember some of these knock off games from the consoles, as we didn't have money back then, so I played these on some cheap handhelds when I didn't have a GBA or DS at the time. I feel weirdly nostalgic for them.
Bootlegs + Us = AVGN wielding NES accessories shooting at the bootlegs along with us sending them to hell.
30:13 : "Vega" is the Japanese name for M. Bison. Vega is "Balrog", and Balrog is "Mike Bison". Seriously, look it up. It's kind of a mess.
Ok so for those who don't know, the product at 34:45 is called an ear candle. Its purpose is to get rid of earwax. You put it in your ear, light it, and then the flame creates a vacuum on the inside which sucks out earwax. You're welcome

i have not seen this guys videos in years and it’s nice to go back and seeing how he is now
16:45 Did you just imply that the NES birthed Mappy?
There is a reason why Conner needs to check his facts. He wrongly assumed the GameChild came from TAWOGB when in reality it came out in the 90's to cash in on the success of the GameBoy. Also, the GameChild he was describing was, sadly, not even that, it's a PopStation styled console with one built in game, not two.
Let's be clear here. The Polystation, the very first thing in the video? That's not even an original knockoff. They make sooooo many of those consoles. They tend to be referred to as a "famiclone". It's just essentially one of those Chinese bootleg NES Multi Cards built into a poorly made NES/Famicom Clone console. They also aren't emulation, it's real, cheaply made hardware cloning a real NES/Famicom. You can find them all over the place if you go to big flea markets. When I lived down in Florida, I even bought a 10,000 in 1 version that looked like an N64 and came with a gun controller.
Tetris for the (even for the gameboy) is actually really good
funni hatsune miku
33:20 this moment killed me as Russian-speaker
4:25, Conner thank you so much for adding that nostalgic song in there can someone please tell me the name of the song
Dude, the way you mimicked AVGN's ending of his Winter Games review was hilarious
Fun fact about gum ball thing you said: the company also knocked off their characters for a product and so the creator of gumball did the same thing with their product “the game child” and they did nothing about it.
10:53 It seems they used a stadium from a baseball game once made by game developer Acclaim (look on the right side of the upper stadium billboard) and put the Vii's mascots in it.
At least I got lucky with the one bootleg console I had: it came with Samurai Pizza Cats!
The Gamechild has been around longer than Gumball
37:30 It literally translates to "I like you very much my very happy children"
I know Spanish, they just wrote it in the wrong context. what it actually means is "I like it very much, my kids are very happy."
1:22:08 Fun Fact : this title screen music not only sounds familiar but it's literally ripped from the credits theme in New Super Mario Bros DS
Love your vids man, cant wait for you to make even more. Your personality is great because you dont try to be WILD or CRAZY or how other youtubers are, watching yours feels more like hanging out with a buddy telling you about random gamer/weeb stuff, and i appreciate you man. 👍
I got a nes bootleg but i loved it , when i first bought it, i was scared of the menu, but im not anymore. Playee in 2021 till 2022 because the wire controllers broke, i played much with my sister
its been years and i still cant figure out ur outro song
You have a Teen Titans poster? That's so cool! I loved that show as a kid and went to rewatch the first few episodes a couple weeks ago and fell in love with it again! And last year I started Young Justice and that show is so cool (sadly I skipped out on it during my adolescence), but hey better late than never 😌
I'm so glad I watched you review all these. I don't think I could have gotten through another youtuber talking about all of them.
Lawn mower can't be a bad game. they made a game called "Lawnmower Simulator"
and some of these games are exactly just fan community mods and hacks, the ones youtubers LOVE to play
Also twords the end you m show that you don't know things like Q*Burt and the diet of weasels and that people love Golf
51:30 ,,,It's an arcade game... and defender was not bad for its time...
The Game Child has been around LONG before Gumball. In fact, the famous Ashens videos (which are about the game child) came out YEARS before the PILOT of Gumball was made.
1:06:04 I hade this exact counsel when I was younger because my parents couldn't afford a better thing and Ioved it
I had this bootleg Gameboy i got at Walmart it was exactly like the Wii knock off (not the vii) Im at the first 8 mins so I don't know if he covers this.
Kid: hey mom can we get SMW?
Mom: we have SMW at home
SMW at home: FUNNY DINO & MARTIN!!!
39:40 Props for adding Stormy saxophone 2 for the background music
6:42 it don't just look like Pac-Man they took the Amiga pac-mania title screen Sprite of Pac-Man and made it into a new character
54:30 Conner Is Destroying The PSP Station Bootleg
30:03 This game is called little nemo the dream master just with Mario swapped out as the character. It was released by capcom in 1990 for the nes
I think you got your info wrong on the GameChild part, Conner. The GameChild was made during the 90's to fool kids into thinking it was a GameBoy. It's a PopStation type console, which itself is a bootleg of the Tiger Electronic handhelds.
This is why fact checking is important, guys! Go watch Stuart Ashen's video on the GameChild. And while you're at it, show some love to him and buy Ashens and the Quest for the GameChild.
20:45 No explanation needed for this timestamp.
27:48 pretty sure that’s Wario’s Woods
When you said "let's find out whats in ball blaster" an ad went on and it said CEX!! (If you know the retail store you will get it)
The alvin and the chipmunks clip got the theme song stuck in my head all over again. i thought I could forget about that song for the rest of my life, but I was wrong.
I do like how 1 of the videos featured just straight up becomes to

ive been watching you for years now bro, and you keep on being one of my favorite content creators!
The game child exists????? I thought it was only in The Amazing World of Gumball
The GameChild from that show was it, but in name only. The actual GameChild came out in the 90's to cash in on the success of the original GameBoy. The system is sold with 1 built in game (like the ones Stuart Ashen reviewed on his channel Ashens), but there is a version of it that has 3 interchangeable games (like the one DankPods took a look at).
So no, it did NOT come from TAWOG, it predated that episode by about 20 years. Conner doesn't fact check.
"Instead of a select button, they put a selset button, awsmoe." Rerez quote for X12
