Thank you for your comment. The JiTong Railway was a mind boggling steam railway for western enthusiasts in 2003. Sadly it's all diesel now, although a handful of these QJ locos are kept in working order. Andy

You're right. That was an awful accident. Did they find everyone? There were 35 missing last time I heard. The difference between China and the west is that labour is cheap in China. The double headed QJs over the Jingpeng Pass had a crew of 7 ... 2 drivers, 4 firemen (to take turns) and a guard.

Good to see a guard's van at the back of the train, if they had one in Canada that terrible accident would not have happened.
