I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
I would not rely on the present livery of those locomotives. They used to be all black, but some phantasy was introduced when the railway turned more touristy. I have even spotted one locomotive with a golden livery
This is "archetype" the Polish locomotive PX48 (version FOR EXPORT PX49+tender). Manufacturer: Fablok Chrzanów - Poland. Exporting them to: Russia, China, Albania, Romania, Yugoslavia itp... In Poland it was produced in years 1949 - 1955. The Chinese can all forge - copy...
I am a fan of these scrap trains from China. No stopping, keep going. When the scrap boiler explodes, the mission will be over. The railways are also a great thing. The locomotives are moving along, swaying. One day they will definitely throw the locomotive into the field..
amazing video! did i read that right? #16 is made in hong kong? and does anyone know what the whistle sequence/ meaning is? i see they do one short or one long, is it just random for warnings?
Good observation! It seems most of the locomotives and wagons are just thrown together, and yet everything works just fine! Humorous, and yet really clever. One could get "crafted" wagons and such but that would be very expensive, why not go with just what is needed? The results, however humorous, are superb! The need is filled and it didn't cost large amounts of money to get it done. Fairly clever if you ask me . . . . And yes, the various fields really are well kept. To me, it shows a bit of hardiness and sunshine in an otherwise seemingly bleak situation as it pertains to the local people there. They are a good example a robust people. Cheers! :)
My cousin and I usually persuade our Chinese Wives that another visit is on the cards and we go down from their home town of Yaan. The plus is that they speak the local Sichuan dialect and we all get on well with the loco and train crews. It is becoming a tourist line but this means that this enables it to survive and there is a marked rise in the money coming into the area. Dont forget there is a huge local tourist industry and us white guys are not the only ones visiting. My greatest crowd pull so far was changing our mixed daughters nappy out in the middle of the local town. Lily estimated well over a hundred people trying to watch. Girl baby and a man doing the changing!!!!!! David safely back in Reading uk.
Bobby, Thanks for your input, contrasting the modern along with the not so modern. You should know that many people appreciate China for all of its goodness, the very fast maglev trains getting people from large city to large city, as well as the slow and homely trains used to bring people together to go places locally. Both kinds of trains were made for their purposes. If I am ever able to come to visit China, I would be thrilled to ride on the maglev trains. I would be equally thrilled to sit in with some of the locals on the trains in this video as well. May China always grow toward better things for sure! The maglevs will certainly do things the little trains cannot do and move people from city to city with great speed. The little trains can move people from small town to small town in a homely way that the maglevs cannot do either. May China have a great supply of both. :)
The line itself is progressively being converted into a museum line. The transportation of coal on the upper part of the line was stopped years ago following the closure of the (illegal) colliery. A kind of open air museum was created. It includes an SY (standard gauge!), which had to transported in pieces on the narrow gauge railway. At the time this video was made, the lower part of the line was still in use for the purposes of an "authorized" colliery. Traction was by electric locomotives. I have no idea what the current situation is. If you are interested, I also shot a video at the time the "upper" illegal colliery was still active: ua-cam.com/video/CdQ8EHjSskc/v-deo.html
Tolle Szenen. Daumen hoch! :) Grüße Mega
KochersbergTV Sorry. I didn't knew that you are an English speaker. Your channel name sounds German. Anyway: pretty surprising to hear about the new built loco. I thought, there is no regular steam traffic on that line anymore and steam is in general retreat in China. Did I understood that all wrong?
megatwingo There is still regular passenger service, about 3 trains per day, more on market days and now tourist trains with more comfortable carriages, mostly for Chinese visitors. Only coal traffic has been discontinued on the upper part of the line. The new locomotive was on test and I am not sure whether she will stay on the line or go elsewhere. I was pretty surprised myself as indeed steam is quickly going in China.
KochersbergTV Thank you very much for those interesting informations! If I would be rich I would order some new locos and would open a private steam line..... :-)) Greetings Mega
I like small steam locomotives a bit better than the usual medium sized ones. I also really like the largest ones, too bad most of those will never run again. :-(
Sorry Luigi, I do not speak Italian, but can nevertheless supply some additional information : when this video was made the railway was transitioning between regular transportation of coal and passengers, and special tourist trains. The original coaches for passengers have no seats and no glass windows (hence the bars)... and a special compartment for carrying animals (I saw a water buffalo on the train). Those coaches are dark red and in principle reserved for the local population. In order to attract tourists, the company purchased much more comfortable coaches, with big windows... and seats ! These are blue. Coal transportation stopped shortly after my video because the coal mine closed. Instead of the mine, there is now a museum. Still worth a visit, if you are not afraid of the crowd.
A number of steam locomotives, some serviceable, are stored in Diaobingshan. They can be chartered to run on the line to Faku. In such case, they are usually hauling the service train. See my video: ua-cam.com/video/6Jod1ev0FB0/v-deo.html
Well actually, there was bleu sky when I was there, I mean: no clouds. But the pollution, especially the micro-particles produced by the coal power stations keep the weather awfully misty. A difficult light for photography by the way!
You are right. I have to accept this criticism. At the time I posted this video, my limit on UA-cam was 15 minutes. I did not have sufficient video to make two parts so I tried to squeeze everything in the 15 minutes I was allowed. This is no longer the case nowadays so my recent videos are a bit longer and allow at least some of the train to pass. Thank you for your comment anyway. I always appreciate positive suggestions.
Greenjuiceman I like this video very much. Sometimes the scenes are shortened a little too much, but most of usual videos have too long scenes and that's just boring. Kochersberg does different and so the video remains interesting.
Not very well maintained. Every things corroded the repairs look like they've kept the bear minimum done to keep them running. I like steam but they haven't taken much pride in there locomotives on this railway.
Why the hell are these videos so amazing to watch. It’s unbelievable
Oh my god look at those wheels, they're so adorable!

I didn't know of the steam locomotives having brown and green liveries. Well-shot video!
I would not rely on the present livery of those locomotives. They used to be all black, but some phantasy was introduced when the railway turned more touristy. I have even spotted one locomotive with a golden livery
hearing the whistles of those c2s is like music to my ears

EXTREMELY good camera work!
Excellent shots :)
The sounds alone make this worthwhile, the pictures are gravy on the spuds.😎
Great video a pleasure to watch. Thanks for making and sharing. Cheers
Grazie per le notizie.

I cannot answer your question about the whistle. As for No 16, it was built in China, not in Hong Kong, using spare parts.

Very cool I have not seen working steam since the 1950's
Come to UK We have heritage railways up the wazoo!
fantastic. work of a genius. panda at end a great finale.
the newest engine looks like the oldest. lol
+Brett Cheeseman Indeed. I believe the "new" locomotive was actually assembled using mostly spare parts. So, strictly speaking it is not so new...
Exactly!!!!
That is also just how new steel looks, we just sorta expect it to be shiny but new steel looks rusted ironically.
@@hedgehog3180 what's the gauge of this Railway?
😊 Excellent locomotives.👍
newest steam locomotive is in New Freedom PA
Do you mean to say that No. 16 as shown in my video went to the USA?
no no York 17 haha, 4-4-0
Keep it running. It is a gem. It will bring in many many tourist from around China and the world.

thanks for everything
con mucho gusto...
looks like she is evolving into a tourist or what some would call a perserved line .
Shame they phased out the steam Seemed to be a lot of visitors on what I guess was the last day of steam
Hi.Where is this place on the map?
Take a look at this website: www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/jiayang-steam.htm
How many engines are on this railway
Brilliant video! It reminds me of Banovitic in Bosnia!
Thank you for your nice comment. I also filmed Banovici. The end of the following video shows some of it: ua-cam.com/video/i9-yqgnoQfI/v-deo.html
Why not let the train pass completely before going to next scene?
datalasse n
As they would say in Shibanxi: "TaI Bangle." Does anyone know how the railroad is going in 2020?
lovely. thank you.
A very sharp contrast to the high-speed and maglev trains China is better known for nowadays!
Bobby, Thanks for your input, contrasting the modern along with the not so modern. Yes, No. 16 was brand new when I saw her. So you can say these locomotives are still being built, surprising as it can be.

1:27 those people in those cars are catching hell from that smoke.
Considering the level of air pollution in this region, people do not need to take the train to catch hell, unfortunately.
Do they even plan on saving the steam locomotives ? Because I consider the ones in China true fire breathing dragons if you get what I mean

very legendary loko thank you TÜRKİYE
Fantastic!
Why most pics we're taken from space! Rather close ups
Sounds like the green one is only running on one set of Cylinders.
That is usually a result of bad quartering. Where the valves are not properly adjusted.
Near Shixi, Sichuan province, Leshan district.
This looks narrow gauge?
+Brian Fairey Yes. 2 foot 6, 762 mm. This used to be fairly common type of gauge in China.
