- Physician and sociologist Nicholas A. Christakis joined Dr. Robert Perkinson in-studio to discuss the genealogical factors that shape our social behaviors and how humanity has built civilizations. In this discussion, Christakis unpacks research featured in his recent publications that explore more optimistic properties of human nature and their origins. The discussion dives into topics that include the phenomenon of networks, how we biologically build/maintain connections, and the evolution of research on social dynamics.
Nicholas Christakis is the author of Blueprint and Connected: The Surprising Powers of Our Social Networks and How They Shape Our Lives.
