As an educator I do not want to retreat or pivot, but as Crenshaw says, we are in an asymmetrical war. I referenced David Malo in College. He was critical of the monarchy and how the commoners were treated by royalty. His book really explains why many Hawaiians choose to be Christian. I brought this up to my Hawaiian Studies teacher to counter their narrative of old Hawaii as a utopia. And he got mad at me and said Malo was a liar and influenced by the missionaries.

I learned CRP from a longtime instructor. I struggled when asked to give feedback for yrs. I kept it opinion simple. Now I use this process constantly, and will be using it today. Thank you.
