Not every Supercars driver is as good as SVG. There is a reason why drivers like SVG and Scott McLaughlin stood out in Supercars.
they had big competition here in Australia,,, we have 20 more that can lap the same times as shane..
@@stevedriver1476why didn't they?
I think Shane is special in his ability to jump into any motorsport and do well. his rally win, Chicago race and his open wheel NZGP win from last stick out
Correct. But that is yet to be established. So many o/s Drivers have tried Bathurst with ZERO success. The Jury and Story yet to be told.
@@stevedriver1476 correct.
Maybe some collaboration between NASCAR and Supercars race schedulers so the major events don’t clash so drivers can race in the other series. It would heighten interest in both countries and provide some international exposure both competitions crave.
Would love to see Nascar bring all 3 categories Nascar/XInfinity/Utes or Trucks or Pickup Truck I have no idea, for a round in Australia.
Could share a round with the Supercars, or even with the Australian Formula 1. The Supercars Gold Coast road course round would be another good one or even if it was just Nascar it would be Awesome on its own. Maybe have it at Bathurst, maybe, maybe not.
get a nascar guy into a V8SC would be awesome - rising tides lifts all ships 100%
Lowndes, Tander and Whincup would be super quick. This Sonoma race is like a mini endurance race. Why not invite the greats over. 🎉
LOve it how you totally forget that Scott McLaughlin is a 3 times Superscars champion before coming to Indy
Maybe it's because no one gives a toss about Indy cars.

Aussie Max powers just won road American track today
they also said he'll struggle for speed on ovals ..... the 500 pole sitter , lol
@@michaelbuettner1487max? 😂

Cross pollination across racing disciplines can only be a positive thing for potential audiences globally.
It would be so good to have Scotty Mac come to nascar and Race SVG again. Both of them on the street course would be so entertaining.
I think it'd be better for Nascar drivers to race in Supercars. If they are going to race on more on road courses they'd learn a lot in a season in Supercars that would take years to learn in the US.
Completely agree. And looking at it in a reciprocal/opposite way, it would be great to see a coupe of US Nascar drivers be part of the Bathurst Supercar event later this year. Get it done boys!
I think Bathurst would be a bit difficult for them to start with. One inch offline, and you're almost certainly in the wall. I like the idea of bringing them over for a play date.
I would love to see the nascars race at Bathurst for example
They’d probably shit themselves at first! That place is nuts
Recon a Nascar would break apart after 50 laps. People forget what used to happen before the Supercar was born. Brakes, Clutch, Transmissions and Engines would all fail if they were not 'built' for 1000 kms. Testing was an ALL SEASON Exercise to make sure any weak Component was addressed. Its not all beer and skittles.
I’ve rewatched the last 5 seasons of supercars since SVG’s Chicago win. The cross pollination works. I live in Indy as reference
I want to see a seppo team at Bathurst
What you blokes haven't seen yet is SVG's incredible car control. I have watched Supercars and it's predecessor here for over 50 years, and we have always had world level talent. For example, Allan Moffat who was a major player in the early 1970s won the 3rd ever TransAm race in a U2 Lotus Cortina. But SVG is a freak I haven't seen before
I never thought we would see a better racer than Lowndes. SVG is once in a lifetime driver
Should NASCAR send over a few drivers to participate in Bathurst 1000. Thanks Mr Penske for coming to Australia. Owen.
Brownie is a little ripper, started 24th because of issues and got down to 10th before further issues. And Brodie Kostecki is a beast of a driver...Would love to see Scottie Mac in a Nascar, awesome.
Waters was making his way toward the top 10 as well before Josh Berry blew up half the field
Up to 10th
There has always been opportunity for overseas drivers to race in the Supercars endurance races. Due to the length of the race, each car needs a second driver for the race. The Bathurst 1000 would be your equivalent of Daytona 500, but longer and on a road course, technically it’s a street circuit. The main problem for NASCAR drivers is that you have races basically every weekend in the calendar.
At the Gold Coast race they also has one of the team cars driven by overseas drivers - quite often with hilarious results.
@@simonkevnorris Two things: 1) The Gold Coast round hasn't been a two-driver race since it returned to the calendar after covid and 2) they haven't had international drivers (apart from those who also drove at Sandown and Bathurst with the regular drivers) since 2012.
McLaughlin and SVG are next level.
This guy is a freak in any motor vehicle...Hell Did i read he went back to NZ and won a big single seater race...(If one could have a big single seater race there ,,Hell when I was young we had international races every year..in NZ...) Theres never been a driver like SVG and maybe never will be..
Yep the NZ GP they call it, some handy drivers in that field. He also races rally and sprint cars among others
Why not. The season here - races far between. Would be cool to see some NASCAR and Indy car drivers at the Bathurst 1000.
Be great to see nascar cars with there drivers race the Bathurst track! So cool seeing them come down the dipper 😊😊
They should do a crossover sport between supercars and nascar and have a world series nascar or something where they race bathurst or something
From nz , loving this nascar racing and the indie cars , even try following it when our guys arnt doing well , the racing is awesome to watch and the fact you don’t have one team win just about every week makes it that much more enjoyable to watch, no need to watch f1 cause you know it’s a red bull show 95 percent of the time ,
Just wish we could get more coverage over here , but nascar and indie cars are definitely growing over here so here’s hoping we can get some decent coverage over here
You guys are 100% correct that it brings extra eyeballs from different countries and different series to NASCAR which I think is a fantastic thing
As far as the two Aussie drivers go in today’s race, Wil Brown was on his way into the top 10 before he had electrical issues, and the same can be said for Cam Waters who was in 13th place when he got torpedoed by Josh Berrys dive bomb down the inside of the hairpin which gave him damage and eventually took him out of the race. I’d really like to see these guys have decent equipment and not have mechanical problems because I think they’d be in the top 10.
Will definitely needs to come back for another shot.
I don't know how many chances supercars drivers will get next year though, they currently race once a month but next year there will hopefully be a few more races added to the calendar.
Great job by both drivers. At one stage they were running near the top 10 (at different times). Different pit strategys sure, but they both were possibly looking at top 15 if not top 10 finishes. Better quali's with more experience in the cars and they'd have been running inside the top 10 for the race.
Why not? There has been lots of Nascar drivers who went to Australia and Canada and Europe and raced sprint cars and other sports cars.
The telecast sucks in comparison. They put replays on right when a pass is about to happen. Split times are rarely updated. They seem to follow everywhere there is nothing happening. No comparison to Supercars or F1. In saying that the racing is great
Then watch NBC next week and it gets noticeably better. Fox is a money laundering system at this point. I’m left to listening to the radio and watching in car cameras
Wouldn't it be great if Nascar , Supercars , DTM and Japanese gt all ran the same chassis. The interest in that would leave F1 in the dust . Nascar at Bathurst, Suzuka and the Nuremberg Ring
They are starting to converge
Imagine all of them converging at Daytona, Le Mans, Bathurst, Nurburgring and Suzuka
Aussie Supercars have endurance races that need 2 drivers per car. The second driver is usually a ringer. Perfect for the good NASCAR road course gods to come experience Supercars
Then you would have all the NASCAR drivers shifting to Aus,the yanks can't drive for shit
They can't turn corners
Will looked racey he was picking off cars and climbing. both cam and will arent far off SVG. if will didn't have the quali throttle issue he might have been a solid top five or top ten in segment one.
Brown would be an absolute beast in Cup. His spacial awareness is second to none. He really was picking em off yesterday
Yes more Australian Drivers into NASCAR and More USA into V8Supercars
Giz is a KIWI Mate!
Brownie went from 24th to 11th in like 12 green flag laps. Only one commentator on FOX seemed to be paying attention. It’s a shame they travelled so far to drive cars which had issues.
Send some NASCAR drivers over to race in supercars as wildcards in endurance events.
Nascar at Bathurst
I think there's only two in Australia that could go as well as the Giz... Brodie Kostecki and Chaz Mostert. Will Brown might be ready in a few years, as with a few other young drivers, but at the moment, Waters and co, I think won't quiet cut it.
I'd love to see Chaz have a go in a Cup race.
@dominicbarden4436 got to be a road course though... gizzy was lucky to get a first ever street race as a first race, but definitely Chaz don't fark around. I struggle between Chaz and Ford, and it's like.... hey look, Nascar and Indycar..
@@WKSchwenke I think it's a shame they can't have a go at Chicago as it's on the same weekend as the Supercars round in Townsville. Though when it comes to the street race I imagine the NASCAR guys will be able to push the limits more this year now that they have some experience of it. SVG was the only driver at Chicago last year who had experience on street circuits in a fairly similar car to a NASCAR car; yes A.J. Allmendinger and Jenson Button also had street race experience, Button especially, but that had come in single seaters.
As an American NASCAR junkie, Mostert has the aggressiveness needed for restarts in cup racing. He’d definitely be a contender just based on his style of driving.
@dominicbarden4436 makes it more interesting and more fun... new fan to nascar, xfinity at the moment, but already a fan of Larsons 👍
They are good but not gizzy good
They beat him in v8 Supercars so there’s no reason they couldn’t do it again in nascar once comfortable.
@@mintoxace5571everybody has a little luck occasionally, SVG is the real deal
How were there results last race? No excuses now
If your starting to follow supercars more. Then you have to watch mark larkhams this is bathurst video. Then in October watch our biggest race, yes it's a long race, 6 to 7hrs to complete the 1000kms(621miles).
Hell ya. But it should go both ways. It would probably wake up a bunch of spoiled rich people/drivers. Just saying. Compatision is a good thing. Makes everyone better.
Only the good ones like SVG

Kamino Kobayashi is obviously a clone 4:00
Brown had problems... cant wheel a shitbox...
And on that day it was a shitbox.
Cam waters is also very capable too
We should also thank Dick Johnson who might have kicked it all off. Owen.
Dick who did what ?
This is channel is full on supercars channel. Lol
Back to regularly scheduled programming this week with Iowa!!
They want the money and views thats why there mostly milking the Australians.
No, invites to a couple of races a year is cool.
dont bring boys over to do a mans job you need to bring drivers over like Jamie Whincup or Craig Lowndes or Steven Richards then you will have drivers who are gods like SVG
"Kamino Kobayashi, one of the best touring car drivers in the world" Kamui has never raced a touring car....
Can both Will Brown and Cam Waters make their full-time NASCAR careers from Supercars?
Hopes so because they will be out of a job soon
Few drivers will follow SVG.
I remember Cam said on the radio last year, he wonder why good drivers left supercar because of their stupid penalties.
Skaife shouldn't be in a commentary box.
I think he is a reason why SVG left.
If he is a part owner of supercar, he should his time looking at how to improve supercar and get more sponsors.
Supercar needs more races to survive instead of every 3 or 4 weeks.

I can’t help but I find it suspicious that these two Aussies get shafted during the race after very successful practices.
Nice conspiracy. More surprised a RCR car had such a big electrical issue. However as Will pointed out, in Australia you can replace it all without penalty. In NASCAR you start at the back which they chose not to do.
Cam was running just outside the top 10 (After starting 31st) and simply got involved in someone else's accident. With most drivers being good mostly on Ovals , you'll get some dumb moves at times on the Road Courses.
As now it not on fox or peacock I wouldn't waste your time
Lewis Hamilton in the Indy 500!!!!!
Too many Yank drivers would poo their pants and cry into their helmets if that happened.
The super car drivers seem to have more personality than the American drivers. Even on the track SVG drove like his life depended on it, you just don’t get that anymore with the other drivers.
