Sick of every mascot horror game having the story of "somebody did experiments on something and it went wrong"
I mean I guess ngl I feel like garten of banban actually stole the many ideas from poppyplaytime, because they copy a lot of ideas that were from poppyplaytime, they stole many gameplay acpects like the memeory game from poppyplaytime, the Part where the masscots go crazy and there whole face changes into a scarier face, I am pretty sure that idea came from poppyplaytime from the mommy long legs chase scene and they just stole the idea. The main gameplay storyline in poppy was to see what happen to the children and the workers. In garten its also to find the children which is basically the same thing. And they recreated the poppy flower with somthing that starts with a g that is a blue slime thing, also copied the idea from poppyplaytime just changed it to something else. Basically what I am trying to say is that banban aint original and they steal many acpects from other way better horror games and they cant come up with there own idea. If you disagree with me then your just one of those 8 year old kids that watch youtubers play it and is manipulated easily by content creators since they can easily overhype anything and I can tell you that most people who play garten of banban can say this game is trash. No hate plz just my point of view.
For me it often comes off as them "trying to be the next Jurassic Park".
I feel like bendy and poppy playtime did this well, but the more recent ones like banban just feel like soulless copy cash grabs
They issued a DMCA takedown on our fan game, which we worked on for around 6 months. We avidly supported the franchise, and genuinely cared about it. There is no real reason as too why they took it down. They didn't message us or tell us anything, they just took it off the internet because they didn't like it. I don't mean to dog on the Euphoric Brothers, but I feel the only reason they just took it down was because we were small. The only reason they just asked UniqueGeese to change the name was because he was popular at the time, and could expose them.

If the game goes really hard on being a satire of mascot horror games. It could actually be decently entertaining. And through that could do some unique storytelling.
Despite how BanBan is the way it is, there is still one thing that still will forever be a cultural phenomenon in the game and that’s the fact that Bird Up shall never die.

I really like the Jester's concept and the whole thing with making the queen laugh. His voice actor did a very good job, BUT. If only the devs realized the Jester and the whole chapter in a better way i wouldve really enjoyed it. But really it makes me want a different more fleshed out and longer game withh the same concept as chapter 4 but ANYTHING but Banban. Like one random person said in twitter dms: "I need a you who isnt you"

Honestly agreed, I ironically enjoy banban but 4 actually unironically had good elements to it with bad execution.
In my opinion: the best way you can enjoy the banban series is by standing in the sidelines and watching chaos unfold.
The Devs have clearly realised that these games aren't scary at all so they are intentionally leaning into the more goofy aspects of their Games.
I wouldn't even consider Garten of Banban a Horror game at this point

I feel like my worst problem with garten of banban is that they don't acknowledge that they are chapters, they fully fledged games, a full game, with a short time, really bad overall, and I just continue watching about it because I like to know how worse the next full game will be
honestly i defend them but i gotta agree with u on this. i wish garten of banban was just one game with many chapters, and hell, it would still be pretty empty. the playimtes are not consistent, making a game 10 minutes long and slowly putting it to 3 hours (idk if itll get to that) is just... not the way. making 4 poorly detailed and scripted games and calling them off as fully fledged games is just not it

I think the drone idea is quite salvageable, I just like something about the idea that there is a slow and sluggish threat after you and your only means of defense/escape is equally if not more sluggish, requiring you to plan out multiple moves ahead and make sure you have the time to execute the plan.
It reminds me of the grabpack just slower and worse

It's been a problem with Poppy Playtime and Rainbow Friends, so Garten of Banban wouldn't really be any different.

The issue with a lot of media (Or SOME media) that are being made into Elsa Gate 4 year old animation is that everyone blames them for being “kid oriented” when in reality their just weird content farm companies using what’s popular (which, ends up being a lot of horror games), continuously showing their child audience it’s content because well, it’s popular, and then kids begin to like it as a response.
Like I said though, sometimes the media does it on purpose for the sake of making a quick buck (cough cough the official Poppy Playtime devs and Hello Neighbor devs) but we shouldn’t blame similar horror trope games for being “kid friendly” when there was no intent to do so in the first place

It's wild how close the fake Banban stuff getting pumped out by content farms is to the quality of the actual thing they're ripping off. The cast just keeps growing, every chapter is a one-off, most are movies with extra steps and somehow _there is still no end in sight._ It's unfortunate; some of the ideas in the game and it's story sound pretty cool on paper (namely the drone and abandoned preschool setting).
It’s not only banban even good games like fnaf 😢 ( I know it started with sb but still😢) and bendy and the ink machine even older indie horror although it slowly got better poppy playtime is basically the holy grail of milking in 2022 even the developers on their channels like zanmstions and enchanted mob

Garten of ban ban has kinda ruined my taste in horror as a hole now looking most things horror related doesn't interest anymore the things relating to horror that are kinda interest me or kinda scare me is slendie tubies, TMK(too much kirby) and some Disney creepy pastas. @@moewCalvThat does not justify the multiple dollars for a stale pile of poo. Only good thing is Opila's AI in the first one (very briefly) and the cuteness of the baby bird. And some of the voice actors are fine, like the Queen's and the Jester's. That's it. It's undeniably a cashgrab, and if they wanted to make it worth the price, they can make the assets themselves and learn how to make gameplay mildly interesting. Learn to animate the characters talking even when it's not a cutscene. But they're just popping these games out like diarrhea.
The credits for each chapter get larger due to the amount of unity assets used from the store.

And to be dissapointed you have to actually have high enough expectations. The only good thing about GoBB 4 was the actual VA work for Sheriff Toadster, Queen Bouncelia, and Bittergiggle with Bittergiggle having a brilliantly executed monologue... the only problem was the apparent lack of care from the devs to even give him proper animation during the scene so while you hear this well executed ramble from a mad and dejected jester he's just standing there motionless
its crazy to think that by the end of the banban series (if it ever does end) it will probably cost as much, or even more than an actual AAA or high tier indie game all together
I feel like by the time 5 or 6 comes out, unless they do something in the game that gets the internet shaking, no one will care (at least, there’d be too few people caring about it). Mainly because with each release since 2 I’ve seen fewer people talk about it so that might mean that the game is going to fade into obscurity by 2024

Honestly, when it first popped up I straight up thought it was a spoof game. A parody. But after these things started being churned out like shits from a fat guy with the runs, I quickly realized the developer's true intent.
Seeing the devs cry like bitches on Twitter about people refunding their game because it was too short, and then trying desperately to make each subsequent release padded out circumvent Steam's 2 hour refund rule, just makes it funnier to me.
Eventually, the septic tank will fill to capacity though and people will get sick of this shit.

I’m glad someone actually dislikes this game. I’m tired of people un-ironically liking Garten Of Banban for the memes since they were only funny for like a day.
Also I feel like there was a way to make the Drone mechanic fun, like the yellow glass mechanic was cool if only it didn’t appear ONCE.
This game is great and not in a unironically way. The story is insane, and the Monsters are not just monsters they are real creatures (The dream sequences are designed to show this by putting them in natural settings). They break terrible norms and aren't afraid to do something bold.
I am in the same boat as you. They're like the little brother of Poppy Playtime, but 10x more "tryhard-y"
And I wouldn't be surprised if the devs aren't as nice as they claim. People always put on this public facade of "oh I'm such a good Samaritan" when down the line they get exposed for doing bad shit like grooming, illegal stuff, or investing in NFTs.

It really pissed me off seeing someone like Jacksepticeye playing it. Maybe he doesn't understand but all he's doing is promoting a very low effort project made by people who clearly couldn't care less about the players. It's doing more harm than good as it's only going to encourage other people to make similar low effort games.

I think that the Brothers are learning, albeit very slow, with each chapter that comes out. The puzzles were decently made, although some were a bit annoying. They hired decent people to voice act, where some kind of were forgettable. The "jokes" are kind of better now, and ngl the story has me intrigued.

it's baffling and even saddening to see this neglect- especially with ideally simple models, but i honestly think the EuBros don't really care about the quality of what they're making. kids will eat anything up, after all, especially when it's mascot horror.

The thing that scares me the most is that developers will see games like poppy and banban and be like "yo! this is how i get my game popular? Hell yeah sign me up" and make the lazyest game possible with zero effort tiking all the boxes to make an indie horror game that appeals to those "lol look at this game time to play it ironically heheheheh" and loud overreacting UA-camrs. Soon the genre is flooded with low effort games, i mean look at video game crash of 83 that happened because of this reason abeit a little more complicated but still.

I really think the game could work if they just went all in on the weirdness and made it more of a backrooms / liminal space vibe. Also imagine how much cooler the characters would look if they stylized them to be like claymation. Just an idea.

I was keeping an eye on Banban out of morbid curiosity. It was funny to see from other youtubers just how bottom of the bin the series could go. I decided that when the fourth game released that I would play it on stream with some friends, hoping for a good laugh (I had never played any of the previous games). And actually PLAYING a Banban game was SO so much worse than I ever imagined. I cannot fathom how anyone actually enjoys playing them. I can't imagine the creators enjoying the game. Literally one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. Everyone needs to just. Stop giving it attention. It's not worth it. The bit is not funny anymore. Holy wow.
This game feels more like a adventure game instead of indie horror at this point.

Will the stories they're trying to tell actually have an ending? I personally think that they're just gonna release game after game after game until they run out of ideas, and then everyone will start to question if there will ever be a last chapter to these games.

Ever since i was little I wanted to become a game dev and make a good game that my favorite youtubers would love and play. I oftern find myself coming up with a cool concept and trying my best to make it but im losing motivation(i only know how to code in scratch. But dont underestimate me. Im trying to find other engines). I want to make a genuinely good game while also making a decent amount of money, but garten of ban ban is slowly changing my mind. Look at these euphoric brothers, just pumpin' game after game, each gettint worse and worse, but getting more and mroe positive feedback. I bet these guys are makin' a fortune! They are probably drowning in cash! Why dont I hop on the trend? While mascot horror is easily expoitable i can just get a 3d engine, make somethint you can barely call game and profit. Oh and im telling you, they aint gonna stop!

The thing that worries me most about the series is it's impression on it's younger audience. Us more mature viewers of this game series can appreciate how hilariously bad it is, laugh for a bit, and move on. But there's a whole generation of human beings out there that unironically love this game, think it's the best thing in the world and are drooling all over their IPads to top 10 secret garten of banban characters you won't believe are real!!!
Possibly more terrifying than this, though, is the impression it leaves on the Indie Horror series. I feel the series began it's decline with Security Breach, as that's the game that really started to popularise the genre while also introducing the "It's a horror game, but it's not scary" theme we see in stuff now. Following that came Bendy, which is at least a game made with love and care, even if I'm not a fan of the series myself. But then there was poppy playtime, banban and even things like rainbow friends in roblox which I have little to no respect for. With poppy, I can at least appreciate certain aspects of it, but I can't say the same for modern stuff.
I'm *almost* a game developer, I just spent 3 years studying game design in College and I have my own plans and ambitions. Originally, I wanted to get into the industry for platformers and RPGs, but recently have started blueprinting plans for my own Indie Horror game due to the recent surge in it's popularity. Not because I want to be another money hungry cash grab, but because I want to do my part in restoring some of the integrity and respect for the genre I feel has left a lot of people as a result of games like this.

As a game dev it's super frustrating and demotivating that we can spend years of hard work putting out something to be proud of only to have garbage like this make ten times as much money in a significantly shorter time. I genuinely wish big UA-camrs would have the integrity to just... not play it.

I want to compare this to the portal series, specifically portal two. Yes there’s weird stuff but it’s explained. Why did they make goo that was edible? Because they wanted to branch out and just make science which led to the company going bankrupt. Why is there stuff under the current facility? Because it’s the old stuff when cave was in charge and once he passed and the place had no money, they had to seal it off.
It’s the same with the dialogue. There are HOURS worth of dialogue in the second game alone but it never feels boring to progress because your always moving. While the character talks, you solve a puzzle and try to progress. You can stand and listen if you want but it’s not needed. If banban was just a little more fleshed out and not rushed so much, they COULD have a somewhat decent game
