      @@FeedRevo He's a top 5 pitcher in the AL by ERA and top 25 hitter in the MLB by OPS.
      Not only that, but he's actually been unlucky according to his peripherals.
      He's 2nd in xwOBA as a pitcher in the MLB, and 8th in xwOBA as a hitter.
      Check his baseballsavant page as both a hitter and pitcher. 90th percentile across the board for nearly every category.
      He is absolutely cracked. Literally two all-stars in 1. Never seen anything like it.

    Can we see the player who can pitch 101mph strike out and hit 119mph home runs in our life ever, even in MLB?? even babe ruth can't do this. we better just enjoy watching him, appreciate him to be born in same generation with us.

    • @hellspree
      @hellspree 2 роки тому +2

      @@TheBatugan77 I really wish people would stop throwing out this myth that Babe Ruth did amazing things on the mound and at the plate at the same time. He did not. So just stop.
      "when Babe Ruth was a full time pitcher for the Boston Red Sox in 1915, 1916, 1917 Ruth would bat in all games in which he pitched. Ruth never played another position until 1918 when he led the AL in home runs for the first time with 11, tied with Tillie Walker, who had been Ruth's teammate the previous two years and was playing center field for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1918."
      "Ruth clearly transitioned from a full time starting pitcher through 1917 to being mostly a non-pitcher. Ruth's percentage of team games played in 1918 went from under 30% to 60%, more than double. Then in 1919 Ruth played in 97% of Red Sox games. He also set a new season record for home runs: 29."
      Factor in the level of talent he faced both on the mound and at the plate, he's not as good as Shohei. But for Ruth's TIME, he was incredible.
      It's ridiculous to think that as time goes on, and with new knowledge and technology, that current athletes are forever inferior to athletes during a time when sports wasn't considered a full-time job.

    Drove down to Angel Stadium to see him pitch last year against the SF Giants, who had the best record in baseball last season. Ohtani gave up one run in 6 innings but otherwise completely dominated. The SF hitters were flailing away at his pitches like flyswatters, missing some of them by a foot. His stuff is from another planet. His slider at 92 that can break three ways. He is basically unhittable when he gets on a roll. I've been his fan from the day they signed him. I still remember one moment from his first year: Angels were playing Cleveland, Cory Kluber was pitching. Kluber was the reigning Cy Young winner and mowing the Angels down. Ohtani the rookie came to bat, got two strikes on him and looked foolish, overmatched. Then Kluber threw him a low and outside fastball and out of the blue, Ohtani connected, a 430 foot line drive over the center field fence, like something out of Thor. I knew this young man had something way way out of the ordinary.

      @slleung8979 2 роки тому +5

      No, Goro is far lower ranking in MLB and Goro had never played TWO-WAY the same time in any professional level. Even 4 or 5 Goro still can't compete with One Shohei Ohtani. Ruth is the closest comparison to Shohei but Ohtani is a far better TWO-WAY baseball player than Babe.
      However, Shohei did read the "Major" comics and likes the story when he was a kid. However, Shohei is far far more elite baseball player than Goro during Shohei's high school year( or even since Shohei was at 5th grade in elementary, at that time Shohei always had too many home runs outside of the right fence of baseball ground that he was forced to have home runs at the left side only( Higher fence was set at right side and Shohei still got over it, so the team owner hoped the more difficult left side would block Shohei's fly balls).
      Shohei was displeased by the little league team owner's order as Shohei was the only member to receive such ridiculous request. Yet Shohei still had many huge homers got over the left side fence, as the result plenty baseballs were still lost and distressed the little league baseball owner throughout the time when Shohei was in the team. 🤣

      @@slleung8979 hmm, goro is only using fastball, ohtani can breaking ball, in real life, goro pitch is more easy to bat compare to ohtani and ohtani much more taller than goro, ohtani 6'4, goro only 5'11, but ohtani fastball record is 101 mph, goro can pitch fastball 103 mph+, fastball goro have better control than ohtani fastball, and goro fastball is not 4 seam, but gyroball fastball, So fastball goro is faster than 103 mph fastball, because gyroball fastball reduces aerodynamics, at first it might be 103 mph, but as it passes over the plate, his pitch velocity doesn't decrease too much, if we follow baseball theory, 103 mph normal/4 seam fastball, when it goes over the plate, it's speed drops 10% to 93 mph when it goes over the plate, that's why in the past, nolan ryan threw a 107 mph fastball, but only count as 97 mph, in the past, throwing was not counted as velocity when throwing, but when it crossed the plate, therefore nolan ryan at that time was counted as 97 mph, even though if we calculate it with current calculations, then nolan ryan throws 107 mph, so the baseball theory that says the ball will drop 10% velocity is real, the goro fastball is faster than most 103 mph, because the gyroball reduces aerodynamics, maybe the goro pitch reduces speed only 3-6% when cross the plate, or the final speed might be 96-97 mph , or in other words goro 103 mph is almost equivalent to 107 mph of nolan ryan, or more speed than arlodis chapman fastest pitch and with very good control (goro can pitch in all strikezone, he can pitch too in same place) but I don't deny that if used properly, ohtani pitch is more dangerous than goro pitch, because ohtani can breaking ball

    I've said this multiple times this year already, but where are the "Ohtani is overrated tbh" people who were out and about at the beginning of the season? They were awful confident, yet now you don't hear much from them 🤣 This man is unbelievable. Throws a 101 4 seam, nasty splitter, slider with incredible depth and bite right at the last second, and one of if not the best hitters in the game right now. This has literally never been done since the Babe was playing. The Babe never threw 101 though. I'm no angels fan either. Ohtani is just that damn good to where you simply are amazed at what he's doing right now. Lastly, he's the MVP no doubt at this point in the season imo. It's still early, of course. We will see if he can keep this unbelievable pace up

      As for hitting, his OPS dipped, but he still has .840 OPS and still has a chance to hit .900 OPS and 40 HR. A Cy Young caliber pitcher who throws 100mph, that can hit 35HR-45HR and steal 20 bases. Ohtani is one of the greatest baseball player ever. No one ever matched his talent.
