Now THAT was Ohtani at his best, superior pitching performance against a very good offensive team. His previous start was a poor one, but this one was Ohtani focused and unhittable. Plus he got two hits, two RBI and scored a run. So I guess this proves again he is a force as a pitcher and a hitter, unlike anyone else in the game.
@@toddpacker1015 Yes, it's right to point that out. There has never been a player like Shohei Ohtani in MLB, and he transcends the sport to become a legendary figure in all of sports. Unreal. As we all know being decent at either hitting or pitching at the major league level is extremely hard. It’s one of the most difficult sports. The fact that he’s like a Babe Ruth & doing both, & doing both extremely well is unbelievable. It’s a shame my Mets weren’t more aggressive with pursuing Othani. If I remember correctly he wanted a West Coast team for its closeness to Japan & there is a large Japanese population in California. Most of the Japanese ball players that come over are mostly the best from the Japanese leagues. Most of these players have transitioned extremely well & succeeded here in the majors. Some have become legends like Hideki Matsui & Ichiro. The Mets signed a big time Japnese ballplayer who ended up playing decently but not to the level expected & was considered a disappontment. The Mets even moved young phenom Jose Reyes from his natural shortstop position to second base to accommodate him which ended up being received poorly. It looked bad because the Mets signed a shortstop when they had an excellent young shortstop in Reyes & shifted him to second where he was less uncomfortable all accommodate Matsui who ended up playing well below expectations. I think this ended up spooking the Mets stupidly. Shohei was obviously a generational talent worth gambling on & he has exceed expectations really. Also, look at Seiya Suzuki. He looks like the real deal in Chicago too. MLB needs to expand its markets as there are probably a lot of untapped potential in markets outside of South America & the Caribbean which have been havens for baseball players outside of the US. Asia loves baseball & there are probably more players who can come over. The GM who signed Ohtani is with the Mets now. Maybe the Angels will trade him to us?😆🤣 Yeah right.
