Tolarian College please tell me more about your local game store..my LGS in Clackamas (OREGON) is selling set boosters at $145 and I feel like that's too much compared to yours. I need a better store to buy sets from.

I LOVE the new 4K Videos. Its such a joy to watch it on my 48" 4K-OLED PC-TV :-)
I know you've gotten this many times but, adding up the amount over the cost of the next box, you went into box four with $190. Add that with the 50 from box four and you made $240 before you even released this video. This video is a bad argument against buying boxes. If you took the money over the cost and continue the series until all the over money goes away then you could get another one or two videos out of it and show buy boxes/packs isn't worth it.
Also, I'd guess you'd make more money from extra videos than keeping the money
You got a misprinted u-kayoe land or whatever they are called wit a foil rarity stamp on the card in the middle when there isn’t supposed to be one at all in box #1 enjoy
This is the first set in a long time I didn’t care about the value. There are so many cards I wanted in commons and uncommons to build commander, pioneer, modern AND standard decks around. WotC actually knocked this set out of the park.
Same. First time I bought a box in a while and I knew I genuinely didn’t care about the value of it, I just really like the entire set anyways.
Same, there weren’t many huge value or powerhouse cards, everything was just good. Made me consider building a Yuriko deck from just the ninjutsu cards I pulled
been looking for someone else that shared this sentiment. Absolutely adore this set even if it isnt traditionally valuable or competitively viable

Imagine if they sold land stations with the Kamigawa lands. That'd be nice. The cards aren't only neat for playing; they also look great! I'd buy one, if only WotC were willing to sell me a box.

Commander Legends: Battle for Balder's Gate, Dominaria United, Double Masters 2022, The Brothers War, and Jumpstart 2022 will be better than the Kamagawa Neon Dynasty.

I love how at (2:51) we see a $4 Mechtitan token and it doesn't get added in. Because, like... there are *tokens* worth $2+. I mean, the Shrine Enchantment Creature token is almost *$20* as I'm posting this
True. And those prices aren't necessarily going to tank either. The Koma's coil token from Kaldheim is averaging around $8 on TCG player still.
Damn. I pulled Go-Shintai and two of the shrine token in a box. I was gonna thrown him on ebay with the tokens as a free bonus..
It's even better when he ignores the full art lands, which are hitting over $3 each.
Strange prices in the US. The Mechtitan Token here in Europe is about 50 cent and the Shrine Enchantment Token about 2,50€ both getting cheaper from day to day. Are you talking about the regular ones or the foils? Even the foils are cheaper here than the prices you are talking about.

It’s very refreshing to get a standard set booster box game where I am astonished by both the value and the art (that foil alt art wanderer had my eyes wide and jaw dropped!). Such a great video!
Love seeing the absurd variation in results from this game, where some sets you get jack and some, like this, you pull a single card that pays for an entire box. The power of doing this for every set for you know how many years now.

After a couple of week, I can confidently say Neon Kamigawa is my favorite set wotc has released in an extremely long time. I adored Ikoria and Kaldheim but Neon Kamigawa is like the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced since Khans of Tarkir and Dominaria to a lesser extent.

I agree that this one is outstanding. Far outstripping the recent innistrad sets. My favorite to date Ikoria with Strixhaven in a close second but this one has booted ravnica to fill out my top three

I loved my box. I got a Phyrexian Jin-Gitaxias, a foil showcase Tamiyo, and the WUBRG shrine commander. This was also the first time I ever did a prerelease event and I had a blast

As far as the Kamigawa full art basics they may be the best full art basics they've printed in a LONG time. The art is just too nice for words.

Neon Dynasty was the first set box I've purchased, and the second box I've ever purchased.
I very much feel like I got my moneys worth, and even got a Sapphire Medallion off the list.
Edit: Also, I love the huge fanfare for the $20, but absolutely nothing special for the $120 XD

Wow the rare prices have TANKED since editing, lots of the 2-4 dollar cards listed are selling for under 50 cents now. Crazy how quickly the economy shifts. Shigeki for example is listed here for $7+ and is now sold for under 20 cents
the shigeki in box 2 is appropriately prized lower, so might just be a mistake for the first shigeki id think.
I have no idea in which world Shigeki was ever worth $7+
I mean meanwhile Boseju is only going to get more and more expensive.

That aside this set is so great, from the art to the gameplay to the lore Neo Kamigawa has been a great success
as someone who has never touched magic, never opened any cards, and has very little idea how the game is actually played. the arts on these cards are beautiful. I open pokemon a lot, and you NEVER see stuff as stunning as this, let alone stuff like that included in every single pack. i love watching your unboxing vids professor!
Single best set for artwork I've seen since getting back into it last year. Also a fan of the equipment/ vehicle/ enchantment themes getting some love.
I was listening to this in the background while working and when you pulled the Jitte, it scared the hell out of me. My body wasn't ready for that reaction
This is easily my favorite set to come out in the last few years. Couldn’t help but buy a couple boxes.
I really like this Set (probably my favorite set since theros beyond death)! The art and mechanics in this set are so unique and really set it apart from other sets, while still being recognizable as "magic: the gathering" cards (which i feared wouldn't be the case when they said "expect neon space ninjas!") and from a power-level perspective it is also not bad. I think they did a good job with this one :)
Prof it would be interesting to see a version of the booster box game where you rollover any net profit from the previous box into the next box opening. We want infinite box openings!

I'm not sure how often this is discussed but I really enjoy listening to the background music while he cracks the packs.
I opened a box yesterday. It had 11 mythics incl. Jin, Tamiyo it also had a Boseiju borderless, the rest of the channel lands and a Snapcaster Mage from the list.
The best part is that the set's art and flavor is crazy good as well.
Man what an amazing set. Very fun to play with amazing art, feel, lore AND flavor. Hopefully we dont have to wait 18 years for its return.
Finally a standard set that is worth not only opening but playing. The set just looks great artistically and has decent value. Hadn’t had this feeling since Eldraine (except Eldraine was horrendously overpowered).
I think a large part of why the Booster Box Game is such a popular viewing experience is that it helps bring comforts to us plebs who can't afford to buy boxes and crack packs to see that even though we desire this, it helps remind us that it's not worth it anyway. = ) thanks professor

I just came back to this hobby with the help of my buddies in college, and seeing those glorious japanese-themed cards just made me wanna collect the whole betrayer/neon Kamigawa cards, particularly the Samurai/Ninja ones
Love the list, got a Sakashima's student for my Ninja's deck from a set booster my girlfriend opened. A welcome addition to MTG pack opening!

God, that first list card you pulled being only worth a penny really does go a long way to pointing to my issue with the list. I love the concept, I think it's a great idea, why does it have worthless cards that aren't even thematic on it? Why do I have 3 list copies of Orzova, church of deals? Why are you opening Stone Haven Pilgrim in a set booster of Kamigawa? Like I get rare/needed reprints if they're off theme, and I get cheap cards if they're somewhat thematic to the set (I'm not upset about pulling a treacherous werewolf in a Crimson Vow set booster even though it's bad and worthless because at least it feels fitting), but cheap cards that aren't related to anything boggle my mind.
I got the wanderer which was fun and thematic but overall I agree
Stone Haven Pilgrim I kinda like for this Kamigawa as there's such a big artifact & enchantment theme, especially in white. So a decent creature that has synergy with that is kinda neat.
All that said, I completely agree. I'm not asking for a List full of chase rares, but I want the List card to be one that gets my mind turning to figure out where to put it. That RR 2/2 that blocks lifegain from the same box is a great example - that's a cool, powerful effect! I'll find a spot for that in a deck if I pull it. The Snake sorcery, sssssimilarly - that's a neat tribal build around for Commander, and the set contains enough Snakes to get you started. A 2/2 for 2 that could be a 3/3 lifelinker on attacks? No, I know I can't really put that anywhere. The List is rare enough that it should be guaranteed to be a little special when you get one I don't feel that as is.

It’s because the list isn’t set related. It’s a series of. Cards all compiled into one giant, well, list. From my knowledge the list isn’t plane specific, they’ll just add plane specific cards here and there

I've seen noxious revival.. mikaeus the unhallowed.. valdalken orrey and sensei devining top pulled for list cards from this set

I love the fact that you do this for the viewers because I'm always so worried about getting my money's worth out of the product and this makes me feel so much better about my purchase.

Very well dressed for the occasion Professor - Kamigawa is a really promising set after the recent let downs, both from a collector's perspective and draft experience
I've heard nothing but praise for it as a draft set. Lots of potent uncommons, and the abundant Sagas all being flip creatures mean that games aren't just a race (like Crimson Vow), but they don't necessarily go wide either.

My store still has a bunch. $110 for a booster box sitting on double digits still.
With one of my set boosters I opened, there was a signed art card in every pack! Definitely not as cool as opening a list card in every pack of two japanese strixhaven set boosters, but still weird and interesting!
I love all the cards in this set. Limited is fun. The commander cards are fun. So many awesome cards and treatments - definitely my favorite set in many years!

Your Aura Shards, Thousand-Year Elixir and Graveborn Muse list pulls were also pretty sweet. WAY better than LOTS of other list pulls.

I realized watching this that I had overlooked how beautiful the normal basic lands are in this set.
I don’t really play Magic, but this thumbnail was beyond incredible.
Man, these Japanese alternate arts are Awsome AF, really wanna open up some packs for this and I always love Kamigawa as my fave plane. Really glad we get to revisit this plane once more.

I absolutely love the art in this set. And overall, it's been a good draft set too. I think the channel lands (at least a few) are going to be staples for a long while.

Gotta agree about the drafts, I can't remember the last set I drafted and had so much fun with it. Probably buying a couple boxes just for fun drafts at home with friends...
It's amazing to me that you can get such an incredibly vibrant and colorful set (esp. the alternate art) right on the heels of Double Feature and the frankly dull alternate art from both Crimson Vow/Midnight Hunt and Forgotten Realms. Maybe monotone or dirt brown are just that, and not inspired art direction?
Had some awesome list pulls from this set. Most notable....Vampiric Tutor!!!! Blew my mind to see.

Great video Prof, I actually love more the collecting part then getting value from the cards when opening. So as a bit of extra fun with your Booster box games I have started tracking to see how close you get to opening a whole set. You were close too, you got all but 5 cards opened.
