Vielen Dank, lieber Ralf!
Like you, I am late. Sorry ,but I had stopped checking if you posted a video. :-) It's nice to se you are still kicking! :-) And with such nice music too! And, as always, beautifully played! All the best to you, Monika and Retnüg. Per-Olov
Dear Per-Olov, I have to manage my time. Such videos take a lot of work. A little less is better. But this song with its wonderful lyrics was very important to me. Thank you very much for watching. Liebe Grüße, Günter
Ist das aber schön und berührend!!! Alles passt sehr gut.
Dear Günter, I have been busy these days, but I am still keeping on track with new videos from you and all others, too. Just, this is a perfect free time for me to listen to your two heavenly pieces I have missed and feel impressed and admire you even more with the sound of your guitar! Thank you so much for making me relax with these wonderful pieces. Hugs and best regards, Y
Dear Y, maybe it's the special DADGAD tuning that makes my guitar sound like this. Jens Kommnick is a true master of this type of guitar playing. It's amazing how modern John Dowland can sound and for Reinhard Mey songs there is no better arranger than Jens. Thank you very much for listening. Love, Günter
Dear Günter, Here is a composition on such a particular theme that touches everyone. Reinhard is an exceptional writer. Do you know that I have been a fan of the singer since my adolescence? I went to see him in the concert hall several times, I had all his albums, all his scores that I knew by heart and I played them all. I never left her course, I see recent publications on the pages dedicated to it. This singer-songwriter has always inspired me a lot with his poetic writing. He is a great gentleman. He is currently on tour in Germany and then in Austria. Maybe he will come back to France one day to say hello to his many admirers. Frederik, we miss you :) So, when a talented guitarist friend covers one of his songs so brilliantly, I can only be happy and moved. What a beautiful arrangement for solo guitar by Jens Kommnick Congratulations to both of you and thank you for making me vibrate again like at a concert :) I hope there will be others Liebe Grüße, Michel
Dear Michel, you told me about your admiration for Reinhard Mey. I think he was already known in France (as Frederik) before his career started in Germany. He wrote a lot of nice melodies, but especially his lyrics are really great. He sometimes uses a poetic German language that, unfortunately, isn't heard that often anymore. That is why I have refrained from translating this text. But with the help of google translator everyone knows what this song is about. These are not sad words, and yet tears can come to our eyes. Really great poetry. Thank you dear friend for your words! Liebe Grüße, Günter
Dear Günter. This sure is gorgeus ❤ So soothing and calming. And…also…made me feel little sorrow too. But…I am not sure if it was ”bad sorrow”….. like… cause I have been forced (like many others) to encounter major loss in my life… there is nothing there…on the darkest moments that could REALLY help. You just have to live through it. In the same way…this song was ”so true” and Included the feeling of ”harsh” reality of the life…”the end of it” is the last part of the story… Huuuh…now in my head just rumbles and cruises thoughts about life…meaning of it..What is my point in here..why my mom could not be here longer..huuh..here we go again 😅 Thank you very much Günter for your talented and emotional performance 🙏🏻☺️❤️ Warm HUG . ~Matleena~
Dear Matleena, I know about your great loss. And indeed, while playing this song, I often thought of you. So it's a song for you too... and for the many people who are mourning a similar loss. But the thought of looking at death as a friend and knowing that nothing is in vain is comforting. Thank you very much for listening. Love, Günter
Lieber Günter, what a great piece!😊 A pleasant, calmhing and beautifully performed piece. As if I was listening live. Although I don't speak German, I read the poem. It sounds beautiful. I just translated it in the translator. It's beautiful. Vielen Dank, Günter. Liebe Grüße, Gardalino
Dear Gardalino, Thank you for listening and for the kind words. This poetic text is very important to me. That's why I wrote it in my info. However, Reinhard Mey uses some old German terms, such as "Schlafes Bruder" or "der grimme Schnitter", which are difficult to translate. That's why I wanted to leave the translation to my friends. I hope, dear Gardalino, all listeners do as you do.

Thank you Tobias!
