I could totally relate to what you went through, I had lost my daughter in the supermarket and I was frantic, but my oldest son had found her underneath the fruit stand where she was hiding at. She was under there eating some fruit and I was so happy to find her safe and sound, but I was mad as well as relieved to have her back safe! When the store found out that she was missing they automatically closed the doors and they started looking for her, they had also called the cops but by the time they arrived she was safe and sound, they told my daughter to stay with your mother. My daughter told them I was but I got hungry and I wanted some fruit to eat, then she told them my mom won't buy me some fruit so I got some myself! By then I got mad because I had some fruit already in the shopping cart and I told her that she had to wait until I paid for it, but she was mad at me for telling her that she had to wait that's when she helped herself to the fruit. The store told me that I didn't have to pay for the fruit that she ate and they were so glad that she was alright. But yeah that was a scary thing that I had to go through and I know that it's something that people have to go through and it's the hardest thing that anyone has to go through when they lose a child and I pray for the families that have lost their child/children.

On the beaches of Brazil, every time a child gets lost from their parents, everyone starts clapping their hands, to get the attention of the parents or whoever is close to an unaccompanied child. That way we stay tuned and stop what we're doing until parent and child meet again. It is a resource that we found to help, as the beaches are very crowded and many children end up losing their parents. In Germany at most patrolled beaches children get silicone armbands with a number carved in. Parents can insert their mobile number and the name of the child in a list at the lifeguard tower and when lifeguards find a child without parents the lifeguards can watch up the mobile number of the parents in the list with help of the matched number on the armband and can contact the parents to bring the child back to them.
That sounds like a great idea... And could work for individual parents here... but it wouldn't work on a large scale. Tens of thousands can flock each day to a beach like Bondi. And many do not speak English and come from all corners of the Earth. It would be unmanagable

I know this is an old video, but here in Brazil we have a technique of sorts: whenever someone finds a lost child, they clap and the other people around start clapping as well, so if you've a lost kid, you can just follow the bunch of people clapping and find them. I always thought this was common practice in the whole world, then I found out it wasn't because I saw news in English mentioning the clapping as if it was an amazing/inventive thing (we've done this since I remember) lol
Poor sungwook. He probably was so frustrated and scared. Not having anyone understand him, while the whole time just trying to find out where a phone was so he could call his mum.
@@makikocan He's a little kid on vacation who lost his parents on a MASSIVE beach. Of course he's gonna be frustrated! No one can understand him and he's scared. He's not uneducated, he knows that "hey I can call my parents" its just that he doesnt know the english word for phone. This is honestly both a lesson for the life guards and for foreign tourists to learn the language at the most minimal (Help, Bathroom, Police, Hospital, phone, etc) or at least have translating device.
Man imagine being the korean mom. Your kid is literally missing and you can't communicate well with the people trying to help you. Must've felt like hell.

I’d hate to lose a kid, especially at the beach. There are so many creeps out there. Also, I know they could drown but if they were lost why would they go into the water?
The abduction of a child by a stranger is very rare. Drownings? Make sure your kids are strong swimmers as well as street proofed. Traffic and water is what you should be most wary of.
When I was a kid there literally nothing scarier than turning around and realizing you can't see your parents. You're just in this pool of towering adults, and you feel so helpless.

UWU sophie Did you find your parents?
In Germany at most patrolled beaches children get silicone armbands with a number carved in. Parents can insert their mobile number and the name of the child in a list at the lifeguard tower and when lifeguards find a child without parents the lifeguards can watch up the mobile number of the parents in the list with help of the matched number on the armband and can contact the parents to bring the child back to them.
Im from Germany but wow thats new. Ive never heard of that tbh. Great idea though

That's incredible! It's not a common thing here but we may have to bring that to Bondi Beach! 🙌
