Nothing better than rain falling on a tin roof while sitting by a log fire. I've learned so much from watching your videos as well as Brooke's thank you. 👌 😎
Bacon and eggs, prayers, simple living, and an appreciation of the small delights like flowers and rain. Not to mention you're passing it all on to the next generation - you're doing it right, Dave.
This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.
Happiest I was was when living off grid in Mexico. Used propane stove/fire, outhouse, candles/oil lamps, washed closed from 5 gallon buckets/soap stone sink out side/hang dry/collected water to wash truck came by to purchase water sometimes, bathed out of a 5 gallon bucket/creek....great life, miss it. Life was nice and slow.
One of the best videos Dave....don't know how you do it, but I've never been as excited about rain collection!! You do an incredible job buddy....start to finish, always the best, and we are actually the ones blessed to be able to tag along👍
In India, we channel all rainwater that falls on the roof in a barrel. Usually a few hundred litres. Alternatively, if we have land like this, we dig holes on the slopes wherever possible, lay a huge tarp in it and cover it with a grill to filter out basic debris. The more water collected the better.
So good to see you and your boy spending such special time together. I have two sons who I love dearly. Spending time with them keeps me going day to day. God bless Dave.
How peaceful is that. I would love to relax with a good book listening to the 🌧. I love how y'all always take time to thank the Lord for your food and blessings of life

Hi Dave, what a nice video. I just got back from our cabin in Swedish Lapland after spending a month out there. We haul our water from the potable lake. It's pretty unbelievable that we do everything in it except for the numbers 1&2. Bath, drink, do dishes, fish and so on...such a precious thing. We are back in Finnish Lapland now. We also live by the river here but I wouldn't drink the water unless I boil it. Water is water but it's such a privilege taken for granted in our part of the world.
First off love your channel. It’s crisp, clean and stunning in its cinematography. And you have a great narrators voice. You should look into doing narration / voice over work.

The only thing that I didn't like about this video is that I could only give it 1 thumbs up. I liked seeing you giving thanks and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Be safe and be blessed. And be radical eh!
This reminded me off the why to old nature shows used to be. Very peaceful and with the narration style makes it more realistic and serene. I learn so much from you and your wife’s channel. I also love the fact that you pray. Do you have a video on how to make the shower system that you have set up? I’d like to set one up too. I like that stainless steel water pump thing.

So I've spent the last few years looking at land that we can afford, researching a minimal solar/generator set-up, learning about simple gray water systems, sand points and composting outhouses. I think we have a lot of hard work ahead of us but nothing beyond our abilities or work ethic. Your videos are helping me keep my eyes on the prize. Thank you!
Best of luck and let me know how it goes
Hi ya, I liked the video & I was looking for the link of your metal canister shower pumper thing, I like that...Is it 2 or 3 gallons? Take Care💒 You & Brooke have taught me so much❗
Congratulations on hitting 100,000. I noticed a couple weeks ago you were getting close Glad you finally made it Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Best of luck going forward
Nothing this year seems normal, so it's nice to see some normalcy happening.
thanks

I remember watching you build your shower. Best things in life are free friend. Bacon and eggs looked so good with the fried bread. God bless you and your family good sir.
Thanks Tanja
The only thing that I didn't like about this video is that I could only give it 1 thumbs up. I liked seeing you giving thanks and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Be safe and be blessed. And be radical eh!
Thanks Big Silver!

This was a great video but even greater knowing you follow Jesus😊 You are a good Father!
I appreciate your prayers, thanking Jesus God for the blessings of food. I pray with my daughters every time we eat together since they were born. God bless you brother. Amen. Geoffrey from Grand Junction Colorado.
Love that!
Thank you for sharing this perspective, Dave. Sometimes a gentile nudge in the right direction really helps me to Remember to be thankful for the tranquility of the little things.
I have plans to move and live off grid one day I just hope and pray that this country doesn’t fall due to Gods wrath before then. Godbless and your a true inspiration for many. 🙏🏻
Amen..🙌 Hallelujia.. Praise be to God❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for SHARING your VIDEO... off grid is a awesome way of living... takes you back to when everything we did meant it's for tomorrow... And it all turns out to be perfect... thank you...
Absolutely!!
Glad to see Mick and you made it up. The rain’s been pretty regular lately. Hope we have time to visit a little this summer!
