for all the people confused about why it's korean: this particular method of chunky strawberry syrup added to cold milk is a very popular drink in korea, you can find a variation of this at pretty much any place that sells coffee there.
Saw the video and i immediately went to make it. I add some strawberries and made a very small amount in comparison to the amount made on the video lol. I honestly was not expecting it to be that good. Definitely one of my favourite drinks recipes 😊
Preserves would taste way different from a jam. You’re basically caramelizing strawberries so it creates its own sauce, but a jam is just mushed down fruit lol. Preserves would add more color and real fruit flavor through the syrup to the milk. And honestly, you could boil down any recipe and it can be as simple as just adding fruit to milk, but the greater amount of effort you put into your dishes/drinks will result in more delicious outcomes.
I was a bit nervous because she said "add lemon" and usually you don't add citrus to milk, unless you wanna drink chunky milk. Nevertheless i thought "eh I'll give it a shot, who knows, maybe it's gonna be good?" The result was exactly what i expected, curdled strawberry milk. I don't think I'll be adding citrus next time I make this considering how expensive food is getting.
@@hadilayyad6147 not sure since there weren't exact measurements, but since I was using less strawberries, I added 1/8 of a lime, so safe to assume milk and citrus don't go together 😅
For anyone asking what makes it Korean (I wondered that too). I seems like they way she made with the fruit chunks/ jam is something often done in Korean cafes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You can make a strawberry Matcha latte with this as well. When I worked at Starbucks I used to do it all the time with the strawberry purée, milk and Matcha. Strawberry in the bottom, milk, ice and pour the Matcha tea on top. With whip cream I swear to God it’s criminal.
you are my absolute favorite food content creator on any platform! i’ve tried some of the recipes from your page and they’ve been delicious. i also just really love your presence/vibe! it’s really down to earth. i’m not sensing any fakeness or fake relatability. thanks for being you :)
You're basically making a jam with it, at least until you add the fresh strawberries in at the end. I'd probably put the hot sauce in a Mason jar and add fresh strawberries to the reheated sauce if I were to do this in a big batch like that. It sort of cans itself and lasts a really long time in the fridge as long as you don't open it. I do this with my homemade cranberry sauce. If you wanted to, you could can them properly and keep them in the cupboard. I don't know how that would change the texture though, if it would cook it too much.
Did you ever try carrot milk? Chantonay carrots are small & really sweet. Semi cooked, the colour & flavour is incredible, then with the density of milk, the taste is amazing 🧡🙋♀️🙋♀️
It’s mostly seen in Korean cafes and from what I’ve heard the small rural towns grandmas and moms also makes them when strawberry is season, it’s a tradition and are the signs of summer along with watermelon and cold noodles (Again this is what heard from a friend’s parents who were born and raised in Korea and the mom was from a rural town which I completely forgot the name and I feel awful about it)
I make strawberry milk really differently. I’ve never tried this method. I usually mash the strawberry’s then add a teaspoon or two of powdered sugar. Plop that into a glass and add some milk, it tastes really nice. But, this recipe looks delicious.
A tip: don't cook your syrup with honey, put the honey after it gets cool. Then you'll all the healthy benefits of it. If you put honey in high temperatures you'll loose all the healthy benefits and ended up only with frutose(simple carbs)
Another really easy way is just blending strawberries and sugar into a puree and adding to milk for less chunks if you have sensory issues or anything!
Okay I’m trying this even though I hated bits of strawberry in icecreams or drinks. But honestly I think I don’t mind it anymore, also it just looks delicious.
I get you probably get lots of comments about your food and how amazing it is (it’s very very cool) but I just want to say that you are very pretty! Your husband is lucky and I hope you well in the future! (Ps I’m not a creep I’m just a fellow baker who appreciates your work!) :)
I didn’t know this could be done with coconut milk! I can’t drink cow’s milk so I’m so happy I can try this now with a flavor combo that will definitely work haha I was scared to use a nut milk that tasted weird idk haha
It became a super popular trend in South Korea, so it just kind of became Korean Strawberry Milk. But I’ve definitely seen other people make it like this before too!
I tried this with blueberries, mixed a little bit of condensed milk inside of oatmilk… man it was PHENOMENAL!!!
Oooo YUMMM that sounds so good!
this sounds sooo yummy
I made blueberry toppings for pancakes and had a ton left over, I did the same thing with the leftovers and it was so good.

i tried this and i added boba into the strawberry milk, it was absolutely amazing!! i’m definitely going to make this throughout the summer

Recipe:
1.5 lb of Fresh Strawberries
¼ cup of Sugar
3 tablespoons of Honey
1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice
Add 2-4 tbsp syrup to milk with ice and enjoy!
For how long can I keep and store the syrup?

Can you taste the lemon or it just enhances everything else, the way a little bit of sugar enhances a salty dish?
Can't leave without hearing the "LOOK AT THAT"🙂

For me opposite tho 😂 I like her recipes but her way of talking really bothers me 😭

So basically, put a jam in the milk?
Yes? Like a homemade jam
Not jam, preserves.

How do you store the rest without them going bad quickly?
I would freeze the remaining sauce in a few smaller containers, freeze, then thaw as needed. 🍓🍋🍓😃

It's popular in Korean cafés
it’s actually originally popularized in Japan
maybe using imported korean strawberries. ive heard they are typically sweeter than western grown strawberries

Wouldn't adding lemon/lime juice curdle the milk ? 😳
The milk is only added once you're actually assembling the drink, so the syrup is already done etc.
It won’t last as long in the fridge but these kind of drinks are usually meant to be drank immediately, not left to sit

Why call it a Korean drink when half the world has the same drink!
