@Augment Guitars. Sir, you may already know this, I remember a video from Texas Toast Guitars where they fitted those threaded inserts to the neck on one of their builds/upgrades. I am sure that they used a straight piece of (cut - down) Allen/hex key in the chuck of the pillar drill to drive the inserts into the pre - drilled neck. The guy turned the drill chuck slowly by hand, with the neck securely clamped to the drill table. This made sure that the inserts were started and driven in as straight/vertical as possible. Keep up your good work. Stay safe and well.

Good call! That is an excellent way to install them as well. I'll have to look that up and check it out. Seems like a foolproof way to install threaded inserts. My jig works pretty well and ensures they are in straight. I plan on making a video here soon detailing how to make one and use it. Thanks for the tip and watching the video. I hope you stay safe and well too. 🙂

@Augment Guitars. Thanks for your reply. The Texas Toast video where they fitted the threaded inserts was specifically on a Fender Stratocaster. In order to adjust the truss rod, the neck had to be removed because the screw head was completely concealed by the neck pocket. Obviously with removing/re-fitting the neck even just a few times then the standard screw holes would become sloppy. So your solution is the best option. Top work sir!

@@markmiwurdz202 They have a lot of good stuff on that channel! I have learned a bunch from them. Currently, Ive been watching a lot of their spraying tutorials as I am building my own basement spray booth. Always learning new things! 🙂
That is a perfect use case for neck threaded inserts. I have set up a bunch of Fenders with that same truss rod design and it can be a pain. Having the peace of mind that you wont strip out the neck mounting holes makes all the difference. Thanks again for watching and the kind words! 🙂

    no grain filler?

Not for this build! I am going for a more natural oil finish look so I wanted to leave the grain as is. 🙂
