My 24 year old Tacoma is still my daily driver and has never missed a beat, never once had to call a tow truck or walk home.
Now thats reliability
Drums breaks in the rear, all the day long. You’ll never have to touch em........
But when you do ........
pro trick: you can watch series at flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Malachi Braydon yup, have been using Flixzone} for since november myself :)
@Malachi Braydon definitely, I've been using flixzone} for since november myself =)
I’m ok with the rear drum brakes. My 2020 off-road has great brake performance with them. Now with that said I do think that Toyota didn’t do it for a better experience, I think they did it to save money and try to keep the price lower. However this decision wasn’t totally a bad thing though as they work great and last a long long time.
The trd pro and off-road have the same Goodyear Wrangler’s with Kevlar in a 265/70r16.
I agree that the TRD OffRoad is the way to go. Since I've owned my 2020 Tacoma I've had one panic stop, and one oh shit stop. Both were controlled and stable. The truck performed like expected. Rear drums are fine with me.
Glad your enjoying it! They are great.
Yeah, I like drum brakes better. When I work on contraction sites and have clay and mud on brakes I can still stop. With disc brakes I don't stop right away and hear grinding noises from rocks and clay between the brakes.
Nice video Guys. You are right. Don’t need the TRD Pro. Taco is a great truck. I drove one for work a few years ago. Not the most comfortable truck in the world but dependable and gets the job done as a work truck.
We got alot of fun stuff coming up Alex your going to like this... mods for the abarth are almost here..
I bought a 2018 ORLB... It is perfect...
Thats great to hear
In Canada I purchased a 2020 trd pro tacoma in manual for $50k. (list price $53k). The offroad with premium package, (leather and some goodies, no new headlights or other musts) was $46k. The dealer said he had more flexibility with the trd pro. If you can't afford the Pro I understand, but no way can you get the exhuast, headlights, wheels, shocks, lift, rigid foglights, special color and badging. Just the resale alone justifies buying the pro. I have never regreted getting the best. Go for the Pro
Good comment. Thanks for watching and sharing.
I gots the off road I want the pro but it was 63 k. Massive difference .
I bought TRD OR prem. because it was 10k cheaper plus had every option that pro has now except fox shocks
Exactly!
You can get a oem trd skid plate and put it on
I think the buttons are great, I hate touchscreen stuff just give me a physical button
I’m fine with the drum brakes on mine. I just got the 2020 Taco 4x4 manual. Love it. My other truck is a 2003 Tundra base. It has drums in the rear too. 280k mi and the drums were just done for the second time last month.
Thats great to hear!
Drum breaks are ok with me. I’ve owned 4, never a problem
Awesome!
I got the exact same trim in the 6ft :)
Do you guys know when a new gen Tacoma will come out?
Have not heard...... As we all know Toyota is known for holding generations of there vehicles for up to a decade with only minor improvements/refreshes.
Go look at TRDJohn’s YT channel he had a timeline that he got from a Toyota press event. 2022 the 4Runner gets an update and the Tacoma should be around there too.
discs brakes do look better especially with the calipers covers but with drum you have less brake dust and stay cleaner also have drum last longer and lower maintenance and i wouldnt mind the drum brakes
Fair point
What about the long bed vs. the short bed. You prefer the short over the long? Is the long bed more useful?
Styling wise I definitely like the short bed more. However if you are trying to get the most out of the truck then the extra room could be quite beneficial. If it your daily drive that you might use as a truck from time to time I think you will not regret the shorter bed. If you are a weekend project warrior or using your bed on a normal basis, I think you will find the extra room to be a welcome addition.
I have the 6ft truck of this 2020 trd off road. Let me tell you the long bed makes a huge difference when packing all my camping and fishing gear and not to mention my 3 big ass coolers lol
I have the 2020 TRD Off Road with Extended Bed and it haves everything y'all shown , but my truck doesn't have the wrap around LED headlight. I have power seat and all that, but not headlight. I get rip off??
Not sure how to answer that...... Enjoy the power seats??
@@PerformanceOnWheels heeeck yeah! I had a 05 and 11 Tacoma beforehand and my right muscle above my knee would ache from leg/right hip positioning. Now I can sit relax without feeling I need a massage above my right knee.
@@JuneBuggJr thats a big win!
I have a long-bed off-road with premium package like you. There is an "LED Headlights with LED DRL + Black Bezel" option with an MSRP of $485. The dealers in my area seem to order most of their Tacomas with that option.
@@Buck0seven oh okay, yeah I didn't get that option then. I thought maybe it was suppose to be standard, but nope. Thanks for info.
I don’t mind drums in the back honestly . Have it on my first gen too
I'm working on them right now on my truck 😪
Drums last better in the mud and stuff anyway
Performance On Wheels I know the pain😂
Nice review...I own a 2019 TRD Off Road - LOVE it on and off road! The truck is like a german Shepherd (I deal with high end GSDs) - they are not number one in anything, but they are in the top quartile (usually top 5) in most everything.
The one thing I probably disagree with you on, is saying: "a lot of people just overlook the Tacoma, just not realizing how capable...". Considering the amount of tacoma's sold - comparative to other Mid/Small size pickups - I don't think many (actual) consumers are overlooking this truck. I do agree however, that most people will never realize the capability - as most will never need/use it to that degree (I do actually). Again nice review.
"Everything feels dated" *laughs in my 2000 pontiac sunfire*
😂😂
Those orange gauges are so 2030.
Just subbed showed my friend that is looking into getting one
Awesome! Good choice for you and your friend 😉
Gotta have the factory hood scoop. TRD Pro!
Yes sir
The fake scoop
No thanks don’t want the scoop. The hood is already high enough without it, my Dad’s 2017 SR DCSB 4x2 4-cyl blocks way more road than my car.
no one will take your seriously with those sunglasses, bro.
The struggle is real.
Performance On Wheels keep the sunnies.
Haha
Oof
👉👈🥺
Tan= Quicksand
I like Cement
Mmmmm quicksand
The Off Road and Pro get the same tires.
Thanks for letting us know!
Plus the taco comes with more features for its price. Think of the nissan frontier. Similar price. But the interior has so much buttons, small screen, and looks outdated in and out. Same goes with the new ford ranger. Nice truck, a lil more rooms. But doesnt come with all those features and updates that toyota did especially for how much ford is asking for the 2020 ranger.
Ugh..... I can't even compare the ranger or frontier. They are like crossovers with a pick-up bed in my opinion. Just do not like the look personally. To me the Gladiator and the Tacoma are the only capable trucks (that look good) in the midsize class.
@@PerformanceOnWheels i totally agree with both you guys i was really debating on the 2020 ranger lariat or the 2020 tacoma limited and off road
You are talking about modding to be similar to the TRD PRO. That doesn't explain why it is a better truck than the PRO. What about the leather interior of the PRO.
This one has leather🤷♂️ the view point was you can have a unique Taco for far less than PRO. Yes with making modifications. The pro is awesome not denying that in the slightest.
It was a good review. Thanks Gents
Didn’t know Andy Samberg was doing car reviews. #covidjobs
Now you know
Dude can't stop spitting while he is taking
I honestly couldn't because my lips where completely frozen. It was like 30 out
Salty po boys
Yes
Tacoma is the Best Mid Size truck on the market! TRD PRO is the way to Go! voodoobluetacolife19 great soundtrack! better buy?
Over 40 grand? Not worth that much.
Oof
Jeep gladiator most capable off-road truck? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
it sure is according to every journalist and comparison video out there.
Not if they compare one WITHOUT the front locker i.e. Rubicon trim. Put a front locker in the Taco and different story.
Doo doo review
Boy thats to bad.
Doo doo means great video in bullsheet Language lol
I have the truck you guys are talking about but your missing key things but its all good
@@davidzen7971 what did we miss?
