OMG I got so excited seeing this pop up!! It’s one of my absolute favourite Ren songs yet sadly doesn’t get anywhere near as much attention as it deserves. It’s the perfect expression of fear and agony in lyrics, vocals, music, and even the video. And never has distortion sounded so emotional! Just heart wrenching and stunning 🖤 🐰🕳️

Honestly, I think this is critically one of Ren's best songs. Bibi's voice is beautiful next to his.

Seven years ago he was 27, he'd been making music for more than ten years by then. Bibi was his girlfriend then, though they did break up not long after. She was the catalyst to finding help for his health problems, finding the doctor who diagnosed the Lyme disease.

It's about his fear of being left alone by everyone because of his suffering.
Yea, Bibi was his girlfriend at that time. She started a fundraising for his treatment/diagnosis, which eventually led to his correct diagnosis. Bibi said in an interview that they said their final goodbyes twice because they thought he wouldn't make it through the night.
The video brilliantly shows his vulnarity. One detail: Did you notice how their silouettes form a closing curtain when she sings that line? Just great.
Much love and a big hug to everyone out there who is suffering. And to everyone who supports their partner, friend or whatever in times of crisis, suffering and hopelessness.
And I know what I'm talking about. I'm helplessly watching my wive fade away. 😢

It was freezing cold when they filmed this outside, with Ren nearly naked, this was an ordeal.
Bibi was his then-girlfriend who organized the first fundraiser for Ren's treatment.
Crutch is meant to show the hellish times a significant other will go through trying to help a seriously ill lover.
Oh..there _was_ a BiBi. Still is, somewhere out there..she is not a singer, has a quirky half smile that is utterly endearing...and was once upon a time Ren's girlfriend...
It's hard to pick a favorite with Ren, but this one, it's special!

Nice 💔 This was done before he was diagnosed also, So he still had no idea what was wrong with him.. I believe the yellow lighting was his PAIN and the blue lighting was his psychosis ! And they had no budget for any thing.. Just the film and friends !!

😭❤️ Wow. He makes you feel these intense emotions through every part of this. The music alone had me hurting and then his lyrics and vocals put me in tears. I had to look away. The hurt on his face and in his movements broke me.
The ending I interpreted was that no, she didn't stay with him. So after he used her as a crutch, he was left devastated because it was an empty promise. She tried to help, but ultimately it was too much for her for whatever reasons.
Love all ur stuff. Funny thing though, Reactors who are fans of Ren and I guess other musicians have a hard life because you cannot go fully into the catalogs of the artists. Ren really does have a large catalog going back in time.

I didn't this time because I was annoyed with you on this one. I really wish you had done this one with your usual attention, it just seemed like you were distracted and in a hurry. The way I interpret it it's about having a someone or something to help you when you are going through a hard time, a crutch. I had a stroke and my girlfriend of 6 years left me when things got difficult. It wasn't anything I could have controlled but she expected me to be a spring chicken every morning, do the chores and go for walks when I couldn't events up straight, take a shower or make cohesive sentences.
I wasn't really that upset when she left. I was more upset that she wasn't understanding especially because I counciled her when she was suicidal and supported her when she was going through rough times.
Only give back what you receive.
