- He's such an inspiration to so many people. His motto of Rising Tides Lift all Ships will never escape my vocabulary and Mind Set. Through ren I have met so many dope people, I've furthered my own creative outlets SO much because of this man, and I constantly watch others doing the same. What a Legend.

I feel the same way, I'm older, so it's kind of like adopting him without his knowledge. I only learned his name around Christmas 2023 but he only needs to ask and we'll have his back. After having listened to Ren's Chapter Series Intently and multiple times, this track just encapsulates his story so well and serves as musical accompaniment for The Chapters. Ren's experiences are very familiar to me to say the least, as is often the case with many of his supporters. Ren's success is so deserved and I do truly hope it continues. Ren is the medicine many of us need. So raw and vibrant in color, combined with his naturally emotive performance! Indeed Ren....Your Limo has finally arrived.

I agree, and Triumphant is a great word for it. It is a sad story with a real live happy ever after. Not Perfect. The issues continue, but it shows how positivity can change outlook.
Awesome reaction. Ren is the Angel of Hope to people like me . 15 years of pain and still no diagnosis. My pain management Doctor manages my pain with medication and injections.

That's what I thought too. He was HERE!! Lol I live in the home of Lyme Disease lol It's names after Lyme, CT down by the shore. I tried soooo hard to in touch with a friend who is good friends with Webby because I know they were at Webby's studio recording. I'm assuming it's still the one in Bridgeport, and he's from Norwalk.
Him and Webby did just finish filming the music video for their new collab they have coming out! Definitely a shout out!

Love the look on your face when you’re watching Ren. Also, “sleep is the cousin of death,” seems so intuitively to me to mean that sleep is a little rehearsal for the ‘big, permanent rest.’ Additionally, it is a place of relief to the weary and might be seen as a taste of the endless peace of death to those who have suffered too long. Just my thoughts. Fantastic reaction btw. 😊❤️😊

I think you're bang on Shae, the strings in this melody reminds me of "The Message", as does the drum beat and pace.
😂Now that I've watched further on into your reaction, you've just brought up "The Message" and I would definitely agree. I don't think it was incidental though, more like deliberate, Ren is very good at slipping in a nod to people he respects.

@@RikaShae he did with Sam. I believe it was called Trouble. I also believe it was different song. There a live version of it from them busking. I don’t honestly remember where you find it. Ren said it was Vera Hall. I don’t remember if that was in the UA-cam comments or in one of the chapters. I just know he said it..

Thankyou for an insightful review, you have a good ear and it seems everything you heard is what Ren intended, he’s such a magician and those with the knowledge can enlighten us who are just absorbed in the music that has stardust sprinkled and we don’t necessarily understand why we feel the way we do but it’s quite simply beautiful. I’ve said on other reactors reviews, re listening to his music in order after hearing his Chapters gives them whole other layers of feelings. Cried another ocean of tears for sure…the smiles and sunshine are on the horizon now…new chapters starting. 🫧🪽🕊️🤍🏴

I just wanted to add that he somehow is also such an amazing actor like I would pay right now to go see him in a movie about anything. I guarantee you that someone makes this into a story, probably himself, he’s definitely going to be on Netflix I don’t know as a writer, actor, producer music for the background or all of it but you can bank on that as long as his health cooperates.

It’s funny how Moby mixed it up and then Ren remixes it, of course, improves it, the Vera Hall sample is great, and I’m glad he paid her estate for the sample. I really wouldn’t be surprised if there was some Illmatic beats drop in there. I didn’t catch it the first time around, but I certainly would not be surprised.. if so, that’s a good catch by you for sure. I love your poet though because he is a special special human and 99% of people feel the way that you feel after working long day. I’m too tired just gonna grab a beer pass out on the couch. He told his mom after the first year if he wasn’t cured by the end of the second year, he wasn’t going to be able to do it any longer. He meant he wasn’t going to be Rapping any longer. No he meant his life was what he was ending. I’m sorry mom! And ironically enough, Joes jumping off that bridge caused Ren to see the pain it caused his family especially his mom decided at that point he couldn’t go through with it and just had to wait for his disease to take to take him out. But he was convinced and would be that much longer.. well eight years is a lot a lot longer! I don’t know if you’ve watched FOR JOE yet, or FRECKLED ANGELS, but if you have it, you need to especially the live

I’ve done a reaction to “For Joe” I cried a lot during it. I lost my biological father the same way when I was very young and Ren had a take on Joe that I never had. It was very enlightening, but I also have the same mind set Von the matter now because of it. Anytime the thought has ever crossed my mind, it’s immediately shut down thinking about the people around me and how it would affect them.
@@RikaShae well, I’m sure that’s a struggle. I also similarly lost my two best friends one to overdose one to intentional gunshot to the head. What’s crazy is he had to change the spelling of the word just to get through the algorithms and there was a couple reactors that got blocked for saying the word too much in their review. The S word they got a mark that what they call it.? Red has said that it’s sad when they put more emphasis on the words than the action and is trying to shine the light on that scary situation and unfortunately the numbers keep going up. 9:42, Nas sampled Sting's song "Shape of My Heart" (1993), for which the riff was composed by guitarist Dominic Miller. I don't hear it in "Troubles". I think the guitar riff is more reminiscent of John Frusciante in RHCP songs like "Scar Tissue" and "Snow", but it doesn't sound like any particular one that I know.
I’ve listened 1000 times now, it’s something in there that matches the message because my brain plays Nas singing over the top, I can’t wait to ask him about it

Technically it wouldn’t be Nas but it would be TrackMaster who made the beat for him. And they would have paid Sting to clear the sample but usually there’s not a credit given

Rikashae- please don't play the "Disabilty Olympics" in your head. If you're struggling, you're struggling. If course you may not have been struggling as much as Ren, but there may have been days when your struggle was the same. You're not an arsehole, that feeling of guilt and shame is self-stigma. It's imposed by socialisation, we apply it to ourselves before society can. It's words we tell ourselves "I'm less disabled than Ren, therefore I'm not permitted to be impacted some days". It's also very harmful thinking maintained long-term, we tend to invalidate ourselves.
I've never met anyone with a severe disability who would dismiss anyone else's anxiety, depression, adhd etc. Because no-one wants to win the disabilty Olympics. But to say you struggle more than someone with a severe disability is being an arsehole. That's the only time I get pissed off, having a severe disability.
I appreciate the advice, not saying I can’t change, but it’s hard to teach an old dog so to speak. I was raised in a very strict emotionally and physically harsh environment, to escape that, I joined the infantry that was equally emotionally detached. All I’ve ever know was “stop being a bish and drive on”

I was raised in an emotionally void household, where "big" emotions were punished, and only the mildest hint of emotion allowed. Even then, to display any signs of "negative" emotions or "wrong/incorrect," emotions also got punished. And every emotion I had was considered incorrect. Even when having same emotions as other family members I was deemed being sarcastic or faking it.
Career path was initially hard sciences, which in my city wasn't that common for women to survive uni let alone land a job in hard sciences. Any hint of emotion in hard sciences from a girl/ woman was not permitted, had to be robotic to survive and not be immediately dismissed as hormonal, hysterical, vapid, overreacting, drama queen etc.
So I already had moderate alexithymia, developed severe alexithymia and anhedonia... most of the past 12 years I've been separate from my emotions... to be honest I'd have to say most of this millennia I've been separated from my emotions. Then I found Hi Ren.
It's been a ride since. My biggest fear was losing control of my emotions. Now my biggest joy is not controlling my emotions.
