  • Visceral Fat is the dangerous type of fat that's linked to heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, certain cancers and stroke. Visceral fat is dangerous because it is related to the release of proteins and hormones that can cause inflammation.
I like to share a study about the Powerful Healing Effects of Catechins in Green Teas.
A green tea extract high in catechins reduces body fat and cardiovascular risks in humans.

    Source: Healthline:
    Eat More Protein
Protein is the most important nutrient for fat loss.
Eating more protein can help fend off hunger by increasing levels of the fullness hormones GLP-1, PYY and cholecystokinin. It can also help reduce levels of the hunger hormone ghrelin.
Studies have shown that protein can help boost your metabolism as well, which in turn promotes weight loss and visceral fat loss.
Additionally, many studies show that people who eat more protein tend to carry less visceral fat.
A study in 23,876 adults showed that a higher protein intake was linked to a lower body mass index, higher “good” HDL cholesterol and a smaller waist circumference, which is a marker of visceral fat.
To increase your protein intake, try adding a source of protein at each meal.
A few great sources include meat, fish, eggs, dairy, legumes and whey protein.

It has been a year since my wife and I started the commitment to changing our habits. We committed to walking every morning. No excuses. We started intermittently fasting. First 12/12 and worked our way to 18/6. We focused on a low carb diet. We have both lost 60 lbs each. We are both 58 years old and feel better than we have ever felt. We do not feel deprived of anything. We both still have visceral fat in the midsection and are slowly losing it. It's a process. A lifestyle change. If we can do it anyone can.

I have my ups and downs with visceral fat. A couple of years ago I started walk/jog/running and my visceral fat would go down fast. Then I stopped running and my visceral fat stays at 20 to 22. This video is motivation to start walking and running again.

I've cut out the sugar from my diet and increased protein. The fat is melting off me and I've never had so much energy and felt so good. I can't believe how I feel after 4 weeks. It's been really hard but we'll worth it. 👍

    • @andrews7286
      @andrews7286 11 місяців тому +7

Yes, hard but worth it! It’ll get easier the longer you stick with it. Get a sweet craving… choose a very small portion of fruit, watermelon or handful of blueberries! Baby carrots are slightly sweet too and have really improved my dry eyes if I eat some daily.

SLEEP is ultra important for many reasons. One Docmo didn’t mention is CORTISOL! Lack of proper sleep increases cortisol, which causes the body to hold onto fat. This is a survival mechanism. Do whatever you need to do to get adequate sleep.

Just be careful as to when you drink green tea, don’t drink it close to your meals. The antioxidants in green tea are very strong. If you drink it with you meals or right after your meals it will dominate and cancel out the nutrients in your food . A friend of mine found this out from a clinical dietitian after he was diagnosed with chronic malnutrition with mineral deficiency. He had the habit of drinking green tea after a meal or in the morning before breakfast. He still drinks it, but now its 2 to 3 hours before or after a meal.

Okinawans typically drink jasmine green tea WITH their meals, and they have significantly more nonagenarians and centenarians (who also are active and well) than in America. If they are suffering from malnutrition and mineral deficiency as a consequence of drinking their tea with meals, then it seems to be doing them a power of good.

I’m so glad I found you Doc. Our health beliefs are aligned . Years ago people would call me a “Witch Doctor” because I believed in holistic, natural healing therapies. I was even accused of being a bad mother to my sons by a few because I wasn’t shoving antibiotics and OTC meds down my babies throats. They pretty much went to our chiropractor for healthcare. Well today those 2 boys are healthy , strong young men. I have always shared my ideas about natural healing with others . Of course it’s a bit more accepted today but 30 years ago …….”I was the “crazy “ “hippie” teacher and Mom. (I remember people really thinking I was weird for getting my Reiki certification in the late 90’s , people who had never even heard of a practice that had been around for over 2 thousand years!!!)
I have my bad habits and my good habits but instinctually somehow I knew that taking a pill or worse yet giving your kids a pill for every little thing was NOT a good idea at all! Thank you so much for educating and helping so many people Doc!

I love that your videos are on the shorter side. I plan to share this with my dr. I have hashis and always wonder how much harder the hashis makes it to see results in various areas.
Thank you. Love from NW MT 💙

Been Ketovore past 5 months, have CKD3a, Bun, Creatinine, GFR have all got worse.. Only one functioning kidney. Someone online Glenn has vastly improved his numbers taking Albutrix, Kidney Restore, upping water and eating VEGETARian. I believe in PHD but cant let my bloodwork keep crashing.. Lost 20# A1c down from 7.5 to 6.5 stalled now... I do IF eating at noon and recently 2-36hr fasts and started having heart palpatations, CAC score =0, off statins. On Farxiga, low oxalate to prevent kidney stones
