First time visitor bro! pinoy here from Aus! Also fellow Pajero enthusiast! Holla if ever down under man! liking your channel!!
It is 1000% to own one whether one is an ethusiast or not kasi # 1 reason is its mechanical durability and reliability basta alaga lang sya with TLC. I just purchased my 93 exceed model at ang panget ng upholstery ng seats with faded exterior paint pero it will be all worth it when it’s all restored and done. 90s pajeros have that generational timeless look also. Ang # 1 gusto ko dito sa ganitong unit ay tulad na blog mu ay boxy sya look sya with modern look until today kung ang isa ay true enthusiast. Yes this is also a keeper for me for my kids grand kids as dynasty! Great review next to the water! A true fieldmaster blog! Salamat bossing! 🍺👍⭐️🔥🚙
I own a 96 NJ, was about to sell it for a newer UTE, since then I’ve spend over $12,000 on it and now I can never sell it. The best thing is I’m not a mechanic and did all the work myself. If it breaks now I can fix easily.
Very underrated cars.
Yep, they can turn into a money pit for sure. Definitely a wise decision to let it go, but sometimes its hard due to the effort and time you invested on it. Cheers 🍻
Dreamt of owning since a kid, really liked the look of a 90s Pajero. Bought one a year ago, reliable daily driver and now slowly making it a reliable for light trails and hopefully to a more technical track. More power to your vids. Good content.
Same sentiments here. Goodluck with the build. See you on the trails. Cheers 🍻
still have it?
Nice video! I just got my Gen 2.5 Field Master. Planning to do a reveal and intro video about.
So far i'm loving it!
This channel has been my inspiration while still planning to buy my Pajero. keep up the good content sir!
for value for money, it's a good choice. Good all rounder car. Not as car like for city driving but good in off roading and open driving. Love mine and planning to keep it as long as it last.
It's my city driving here in sydney.I got the2013 latest 3.8 petrol. It's nearly 80k brand-new exceed model. it's like a bmw x5 that can go off-road. I like driving it to work than my mercedes benz. I'm planning to change pajero to the new nissan patrol 5.7 worth 80k so worth the upgrade.
It is worth. We have Pajero II, long version. We use it for offroading and some filming (some movies are on our YT channel). This car is doing great in offroading, on mud, sand or gravel. It has very good 4x4 drive with quite unique losution of centrall diff with lock. If you ass wind and little lift with A/Ts - it can bring lot of fun!
Pajeros are a poor man’s rover as some would say. I own an 89 gen 1 and it’s a real workhorse! Definitely worth it!
I would say it’s the poor man’s cruiser. Because rovers aren’t comfortable in the field, they’re most comfortable in the workshop.
Nobody says that ffs 🤣 rovers a shite.
Bought a pajero fm (might send the pic on your fb) few weeks ago because of you and your brother haha.. although i got a 4x2 (less breakdown and maintenance) since im just planning of taking light trails only with my family. More power to your channel bro. Keep safe
Tag moko sa FB or Instagram sir. Cheers 🍻
Pajero, the king of the desert!
I own a 95 Pajero Gen 2 Exceed 2.8TD all around bar work on it, best bang for your buck SUV. My daily driver.
I have the same model in Trinidad and Tobago and I like that it is built tough, I do all the repairs myself and that is the key to keep it working properly. Stay bless my Pajero bro!!!
How do you find it holds up bro , looking to purchase for about 50k ttd i think it's an automatic though
Boss, fan na ako ng trail both mountain biking at car off roading pero simula nung nagvlog ka dun ko rin sinabayan mangarap magkaroon ng Pajero. SANA SOON! More power to this channel!
Haha adik din talaga ko sa bike, both competitive cycling and cross-country mountain biking. Pero offroad 4x4 talaga content ko dami na sa cycling. Ok boss thanks for the comment cheers 🍻
All we have is a pajero evolution manual in white and pajero evolution matic in black and our 95pajero 4m40 3door. Despite their age thie amazing to drive.
Compared to the modern 4x4's this guy has the "super select" which alot of offroaders does not have! 🍻
how lucky you are bro as far as i know Pajero Evo are limited edition correct me if im wrong they only built 2500 units from 1997 to 1999.
Hey dude if its sluggish put a bigger turbo it ) or just get a boost tap and wind up the boost and turn the fuel pump up 1 turn, 3 inch straight pipe
Be a good 30hp difference
What about a full engine swap to petrol to either V6 3000 or V6 3500 or a stable 4G64 EFI. Have two engine overhauls in three years and hence my idea of changing as the proposed engine types are all Pajero and reliable. The old 4D56 is lots of work which is what I have had.
Its worth having one and for me in its worth keeping & passing it to my children. All your negative comments i share with you bro. But in the end its these same characteristics that majes the Pajero a treasure. I have one pajero gen2 & its for keeps. More power to your vlog brother ! God bless !
I have a Pajero V24 and I can say am really encouraged. I have spent like you described time and money to a point I almost despaired. The key take out was on speed limitation and I just bought a 4G64 EFI petrol engine to move away from the 4D56 diesel all in the name of looking for speed.
Am now convinced I need to soldier on and hopefully will share on my final outcome. For now the rig is for keeps
"Takes time and patience to put in a reliable state" . Great review bro . Almost 2 years din bago namin napatino yung pajero namin . Worth it parin talaga pag napatino mo yung rig mo .tamang alaga lang 💪
Definitely boss. Anyone can own a new car if you have the means. Owning, restoring and maintaining an old rig is a totally different story. Cheers 🍻
I used to own a 92 gen 2 and a lot of unforgettable memories came with it sold by 2006. Since then the sentimental value of that gen 2 lived on to this day. Now I own a 2003 gen 2.5 barely a year and restoring it as much as possible. The joy that comes with it brings back memories of my gen 2 and plan to keep this forever.
Meron din po akong pajero gen2 correct lahat na sinabi mo but never ko rin i let go my pajero i love it very much tested ko na sya sa offroad and sa rescue
Salamat
One of the reliable under rated 4x4,kung naging solid front axle lng, tanggal lahat ng negatives na mention mo bro, para sakin, cheers
On the contrary, pajero was ahead of the wagon variant in terms of suspension tech with the introduction of IFS. Safe handling, comfortable and better ground clearance. Pero maka kasabay naman sa mga patrol at LC yan bro 😁 cheers 🍻
Front solid axle kasi ang naging ticket ng LC80,patrol,40series lc at landrover sa stardom para sa mga hardcore offroaders,
Yup no doubt about that, solid axle has set its place in the hardcore tracks but the Pajero proved its capability despite being handicapped. Ill definitely take a solid axle all day kung hardcore. But i don't think its a deal breaker. GQ kana bro 😁
I inherited my father's 1999 pajero fieldmaster 4x4 manual since he passed away 5 years ago, it has 385k mileage and still reliable. I am planning to keep it even if I already bought a brand new vehicle for my family.
They last a long time. Definitely worth keeping. Cheers 🍻
@ I Replaced My Pajero Diesel Weak Engine With Nissan Engine Z 20 Fuel And Really Enjoying It.. Do You Forsee Any Problem I Might Face In Future? Thanks
I bought one of these and put off road Mickey Thompson’s and a 800watt sound system and I absolutely loved it.. I gave up on the car before it gave up on me ( mine was an 88 2 door)
I'm planning to buy a 2001 Pajero iO Mini here in middle east. Odometer is 139k, should I go for it? what are things that I should check? I don't have any background or idea when it comes on buying 2nd hand cars. Thanks
It's a great rig to own! I have loved your lowdown on it and find I relate so much to all those issues! Kindly advise what tips and tricks to employ in order to improve fuel consumption efficiency. Am sure there must be a way to reduce that thirst!
92 pajero exceed owmer here. I go 120-130 Km/h on highways from Monday to sunday man. I guess it depends on your tires too. I have all terrain tires.
Got a 88 TD swb and the thing is a fn beast! The best car I’ve owned.
What particular engine swap is compatible with 1999 Pajero Fieldmaster 4m40? Appreciate very much your advise.
Well said sir..we have a 95 model before dami mga pagawain, pero pag napaayos lahat, mahabang panahon naman serbisyo nya sayo..mahirap pakawalan may emotional attachment talaga until binenta namin nung 2018 and acquired a Fieldmaster.for me worth it sya dahil sa mga memories at places na napuntahan namin.
Those memories are priceless. Hirap talaga bitawan haha. Only the enthusiasts will understand. Same sentiments here. Thanks for the comment. Cheers 🍻
i have 2k 4x4 FM pajero. one thing i can say is "" take cake of your rig and it will take you anywhere""
Panagarap ko din pajero fm. Simula bata ako. Kahit my xpander na kami at adventure, pero nag lalaway pa din ako sa pajero fm. Saving to by this year.
Where do you take all off your beach shots?
I owned Isuzu BigHorn 95 limited edition original Japan import... sobrang fanatic din ako Ng nga old cars na 4x4..kaya ka2lad mo boss pnaghirapan ko Ren makuha un,mrami nrin kming pnagsamahan at nadala nya na Ren ako maski Sanko gus2 pumunta kaya khit anung mangyari Hindi ko xa bi2tawan o ipgpa2lit..IPA padin Ang tibay at angas Ng old cars
Can you tell size of tires and rims ❤please ❤
tama talaga yung mga points na nabanggit mo sir... i'm also a pajero enthusiast... lalo ako nabuhayan nung nakita kita sa overland expo 2020... worth it din pala to maintain an old pajero... kayangkaya mo sumabay sa mga bagong bruskong rigs... hoping to join you sir...
Thanks boss. The good old pajero still has its place in the offroad scene, one big reason why I started the channel, para maipakita na capable din ang pajero. Ok see you on the trails boss. Lets organise a pajero trial once kumalma travel restrictions. Cheers 🍻
@@LakbayDiwaTV ok sir meanwhile will continue to patronize your channel... more power... standby until restrictions will permit...
Nice! Got a hand me down 3 door gen 2 from my dad bro. It definitely is a keeper.
I do own an 89 Gen 1...am it's third owner....done much changing of worn parts....but believe me, it is a reliable vehicle.... I drove on flood, mud, some rock crawlin adventures and on a weekly basis drive to Baguio from Urdaneta and vice versa....slow compared to today's standards but it will get you there...you might even be pulling a stalled Raptor on your way home....hahahaha!
I had a 96 pajero b4, bought it brand new. Loved how it can easily traverse deep waters and potholes. The only problem was, it was so underpowered, and the body was so heavy i remember going to SM Baguio, and it really had a hard time going up the ramp there. That was from a standstill and about 7 passengers.
Sir kakabili ko lang ng Gen 2 JDM converted 4d56. (3 door) same din ba pros and cons niya. Sana masagot sir.
On point ka sa points mo bro. Still enjoying our pajero fm 2004 with 313k odo never been overhauled or rebuild. Well maintained by our car care center in tarlac city. 👌
They live for ages once you take care of them. Good job. Cheers boss 🍻
@@LakbayDiwaTV yeah. First owner kami. Additional lang sa positive points mo is the driving visibility. Da best! 💯
Cheers brader! 🍻
Same rig tayo sir. Takes an enthusiast tlga to want to own, maintain. Antagal ko din bago napatino nito. Pero pag naalagaab mo sya hindi ka mapapahiya.
Its easy to buy a modern car if you have the money, but it's not easy to own an old car even if you have the money. Thats what separates us enthusiasts from the regular owners, we have the patience. Cheers boss thanks for the comment 🍻👍🍺
Meron po kming 2001 model Pajero Fieldmaster a 4x2. Kami ay 3rd owner na. A good choice para kay daddy na gawin nmin syang "Family Car" kesa sa ibang SUV or mid-size SUV like montero or Fortuner. Kasi matibay sya @ hindi sya matagtag tumakbo so it means stable. @ wala pa ding tatalo sa pangalang "Mitsubishi PAJERO"
@ dhil 4x2 lang gmit ng pajero namin kaya on roads lang namin sya ginagamit, & as in bihira lang idaan sa offroad or trails dhil nga sa service namin sya as "Family Car". Tulad po ng sabi nyu if you own one of this Pajero, di mo basta agad agad male-let go dhil safe sya lalo na kung nakasakay ka na sa kanya.
Very nice Pajero. I really like that SR bumper...only if i can get onr shipped to the states.
They are superb old trucks, had mine since 2005 imported direct from Japan.
Its a 2.8 auto turbo diesel lwb and it flies, love it to bits that's why it's in great shape, most reliable 4x4 I ever owned don't know what I'd do if we ever had to part, she's brilliant.
BTW your truck looks amazing, maybe keep a look out for a decent 2.8 TD engine and fit it?, personally I'd leave it as is.
Good luck, thanks for showing us your Pajero.
2.5 much better than 2.8
2.8 version not worth a lot here. Have lots of trouble with head gaskets and the head of engine itself
How much inabot sa pag lift boss? And ung steel bumper?
kmusta ang pajero mo sir in 3 years now?
Thank for your honest review
Pajero, is a Pajero, is a Pajero... noon hanggang ngayon didn't changed, still a Pajero...
Sir ask lng aku ano size ng tires at rims ng pajero mo I love the posture of your pajero…
Nice one bro.. Keep on rolling
Yes bro d ko basta mabitawan c pajero pinaghirapan ko rin very sentimental sya sa akin value... laging ingats pre sa adventure...
Yan.. Haha.. Emotionally attached tayo bro. Thanks for the comment 👌
Great video brother you just made me regret selling mine a very long time ago on the hunt for another
Cheers bro 🍻
I had An old wagon a1991 Nisan Safari long wheelbase for28 years, it was a really good wagon .but hey it’s getting old with the time comes a lot of Maintence especially the electrics all the-seals and mastic sealer along the roof gutter. The body was great the chassis was great it’s just the running parts it’s an old vehicle if you don’t mind spending money on parts and labour then your in heaven. I just want a vehicle that’s reliable and doesn’t need any work done
U really need that big mud tire to offroad? But im plannin to convert my 97 local to steelies and hav its claddin and stepboard remove to make it lightweigh lols
Ayunn may video din sa gen 2 💛
i got one but exceed, i dont have any problem or issue on it. i reaaly like it.
Lakbay Diwali how to join your group?
Gen2 pajero namin 1992 model from Dubai pa. Still alive
honest review
Para sa akin, sulit na sulit boss. Subra pa sa sobra. Iba yung old is cool,
It does worth, sir. Kaya nung I let go ko si Pajie ko, Ck model 04, one year na, di pa rin ako maka move on. But I promised to myself, I will get one, soon....
May pagkakataon din sumskit ulo ko, pero kahit saan, kaya nya Kong dalin, mine is powefull with its independent suspension.. Sumisibat sa highway
I have owned my 1988 Dodge Raider, which I love, for 4 years. 2 years ago the head gasket blew (157,000k odometer) a mile from home, on my way back from the mountains. I always hated the motor being underpowered, and the expectation I would have the usual engine problems bothered me. It was a matter of time. But It sure looks great sitting in my backyard, lol. the only way I will ever put it back on the road is if I can do an LS swap, otherwise, it's not worth the effort. Sure, It can go anywhere, it looks great, and is fun off road, with the little 2.5, but the engine IS the weak link, the thorn in the side in an otherwise excellent Truck. I've owned 1 4Runner, 2 Jeeps, and 2 Troopers before this. I think my '86 4Runner was best. It was totally reliable, I drove it for 5 years and 125k, and sold it for the same price I paid 5 years earlier. Next, my 1991 Trooper II was great, reliable, and I drove that for 5 years until it fell apart...loved it. Then I bought a 2001 Trooper, which looked great...BUT had that worst problems. I gave it away after rebuilding it almost twice, and started having more troubles. My jeeps were fun, but high maint. Both were totalled in rear end collisions. I am currently driving a 2003 Ford Ranger, that thing is a tank, and the motor (Mazda) is bulletproof. I might find and old 2 door Ford Explorer, or a Chevy ZR2 4x4 and start over. They are good trucks, and Chevy interchangeably, is always a good thing.
@rocky mountain gas; Man. Looking at comments. Not your stupid autobiography.
@@pistolpeds relax, that was the short version.
I've got a 95, I fuckin love it.
same boss kaso lang palaging may nasisira tsaka costly na din ang maintenance lol
Very informative video sir!
For the safety of family it's worth to have pajero becoz of the body is like a armorcar it very thick not like the modern 4x4 for me it's WORTH it!
Sir, suggest best suto shop where I could bring my pajero
hey team just got a 93 2.5ltr. nice old cat but keep getting the dreaded 4wd select light flashing anyone got the right idea on how to solve?
What rims do you use
I own a montero but this is my dream car ❤️❤️❤️
It might have been a bit old school in some respect, but it also offer suspension and ride comfort that was a bit ahead of the pack at the time. So it's reasonably comfortable to drive and still very, very good offroad as thousands devotees will happily tell you bro 😁. Every dog has it's day. I reckon it will last long bro!
I agree, a good preventative maintenance is the key for a good fortune reliability. .
Kakaayos ko lang ng transfer case switches ko and it's pain in the ass, everything is electrical!
Naisip mo ba in the future to have engine swap like 4m40t or 41T? Or too expensive? That would be interesting!
Long live Pajero!
Nice video and topic bro! Relaxing 👍
IFS was the tech that pajero had years ahead of the wagon variant. No doubt.
Hirap pag modern tech, hirap ayusin, but it provides convenience. Yun lang trade of.
Planning to keep the old engine, keeping it as reliable as possible. I prefer reliability over power 😁. Im more of a traction than power guy. Ill probably do a full exhaust and intercooler upgrade.
Thanks for the comment bro.
@@LakbayDiwaTV I agree!! I reckon that Model is the most Iconic symbol of Pajero. Just pure love bro!
Can't wait for the next video. Maybe you can make one why the super select system of mitsubiahi stands out sa ibang mga 4wd on the market ♥️
Good and thorough video. Definitely, older cars are better compared to the ones we have now. What I hate the most are cars dependent on electronic handbrakes. If your battery suddenly dies or malfunctions, good bye steering wheel, brakes and handbrake (as in the cases of reported CRV/Montero etc accidents).
Definitely agree with you sir, but most modern cars are actually safer to drive due to their modern safety technology. Definitely better on road, but less offroad, they are prone to electrical malfunctions. Cheers 🍻
ganda ng lugar san yan boss? solid ng Pajero
Clutch should only last 6 years ish , alternator are always going if worked hard , sluggish ? It’s 23 years old and yes I’ve owned / own 3 of these and most of the things you dislike are consumable parts when working the vehicle hard , 8 minutes in and man it’s not for me this video , ARB do bumpers , lockers are available and we’re standard in most of them , loads of accessories available in Europe , swap your headlights to LED or HID it takes 2 minutes to change
90kph? Daming pinapagawa? Parang hindi nagka pajero ako isa lng naging problema yung kunya ng main pulley. Tsaka aircon. Pinang trail ko din sa porac
Sir Pano malalaman Kung may blowby ung pajero n bibilin ko
4:45 - those aren't issues... that is just maintenance... good looking rig.
Agreed. Cheers 🍻
Good job sir I have two fm and exceed.
I dont think ibebenta yung '03 pajero FM namin ever. been in our family for almost 18 yrs hehe same exp din, ilang months sa talyer bago naging reliable ulit. most of its 190k km was used for metro to province driving pero ngayon mostly city crawler na lang siya but still reliable and feels durable
At some point you'll feel like letting them go, pero dahil sa sentimental value its hard to let go. 😁🍻 Cheers
2.5 or 2.8?
2.5
Like the feature design but still want some improving in gears up grades, 6 or 7 speed for example. Wonder where can gat and who can provide. Just dreaming a whole center of selection modification.
its good for coz i have two pajero exceed and fieldmaster ho ho ho still running both in good condition
Nice pajero man😍😍😍
sir, ask ko po pag okay po ba bumili ng mini pajero? gusto ko din sana mag offroad po 😬 thank you.
No experience on pajero mini. Puro imported yan so questionable lagi reliability.
❤かっこいい🎵YES!YES!
I have dreamed to own a pajero since when i was kid kasi yung lolo ko meron siyang gen 2 na pajero and na alala ko may bumangga na jeep sa likod namin at nayupi lang ng konti ung bumper at naputol ung apakan sa likod pero ung jeep hindi na umandar at tuluyang nasira na and that made me loved pajeros because of how tough and hard they are.
One of the best in their era. Cheers 🍻
Real talk bro hehe 😁 cheers 🍻. Emotinal attachment yan bro. We have the same sentiments.
Ako di na dragrace ko pajero petrol ko sa traffic lights . Talo mostly mga 4 cylinder cars, small suv at pajero or other 4wd na diesel. Pati nga. V8 na land cruiser 200 na diesel ang bagal umarangkada. Fortuner at pajero sport ang bagal din hehe
taga saan ka po boss?
I have SUS power wire panel (limited) from Thailand for this model and i also used pajero V34v year 2004 ✌✌
still counting parin sir ung 98 pajero namin, pede parin maging daily driver hehe
Unbreakable haha 👌. Cheers 🍻
saang shop ma recommend mo sir?
Kow lasing na ih😂😂
Tipid ba sa diesel yan?
Try owning a land rover defender they are nothing but trouble everything goes on them the pajero a far better 4x4 not troublesome at all
Would you say the newer ones are just as reliable as this '97?
Reliability is a can of worms to tackle. But newer vehicles are definitely reliable on road, but may fail offroad due to the advance techs, sensors, computer box and the like.
Simpler tech tend to have less problems
Simpler tech tend to have less issues
@@kikecueva5 the lesser tech, the easier to maintain. 👌
Worth it yan kung lokal na pajero. Pero ung japan surplus na converted, mdyo talo
Really difficult to listen. Not only he loves to beat around the bush, but also has a harsh voice
Is this 97 fieldmaster?
Its not, just a regular generation 2, Pajero FM production started at 99 onwards
@@LakbayDiwaTV Thanks sir. Fuel consumption for Pajero is 7-8km/l in city driving and 8-10 in highway? Is this true? I am planning to own one. 😊
Sorry i don't have that data. Didn't have a chance to drive my rig in its stock form. I immediately modified it for offroad use ever since. 35 inch tires and high gear ratios wont give me fuel efficiency. Its not a daily driver. Check out the forums for pajeros, they know better.
@@LakbayDiwaTV I have a '96 Field Master on an Exceed body, JDM and I saw one FM with Exceed fender flares...
