The Alliance of stormwind left Lordaeron to die along with Gilneas when the cscourge attacked. Then afterwards they had the gaul to lay claim to Lordaeron territory because they were human despite the Forsaken being the former humans who lived there. Lordaeron is Forsaken territory its the same "people". Kingdom of Lordaeron is gone.
Also the Argent Dawn didnt open its ranks to everyone till WoW. Some many years after after the destruction and resurrection of the Forsaken.
Btw Savix is literally watching a video where humans wont even accept THIER OWN monsterous werewolf beings and he thinks humans would just accept undead lmao.

So the reason the Forsaken joined the Horde is because the Alliance killed every ambassador they sent and the Horde felt pity for their plight. They invited the Undead to join the Horde under the idea that the Tauren can help the Royal Apthecaries find a way to reverse undeath.
There's more menacing stuff going on behind the scenes but that was the basic gist of it.

Also I think it's important to get that the forsaken aren't just people who randomly died and somehow came back as undeads. Their country was destroyed and they were killed by an undead army on top of getting resurrected by said army, meaning at this stage undeads are very much associated with atrocities in people's minds in general. Not to mention there's no TV or stuff in Warcraft, if you're some random farmer all you know is likely something along the lines of "An army of monstruous undeads destroyed the kingdom of Lordaeron... And now there's one of them right at my doorstep pretending to be my family member".
I mean it would be one thing if a family member of mine randomly died and came back as a rotting walking corpse, it certainly wouldn't be easy to accept but I can see it not being entirely impossible, but here... No, it just isn't realistic, or at least I don't believe it is.

Savix: "undead don't eat brains, I can make the undead right now, and prove it, they have free Will.."
Me: cannibalaze button- devour the corpse of HUMANOID. (and only corpse cause it would be Hard to make ingame action to leap on "living" and starting biting their flesh off).. Undead original starting zone- undead losing their minds all around, cause they can't cope, adapt, or Just accept themselves as an undead going mad and killing everything around, or wondering mindlessly. (like in the first quests where you try to help New undead, cause you "got stiched pretty good as it seems, and even have some mind left, so you can be useful".. The guy undead going mad understanding he has arms from another humans stiched to him, and attacking the players later on).. +why they attacked Gilneas? Cause undead were dying OUT, and silvanas needed more soldiers. Undead were not getting enough New members since classic to cata, only losing "People" left and right: VS scarlet crusade, VS lich King, VS alliance, VS other mindless undead, VS rag, VS every other threats, some left to argent dawn and stopped caring about undercity, some Just left for their own reasons, some became partners with Godfrey, etc, etc. They, silvanas and undercity needed forces to survive, cause they wanted to live. But live a New life in the undeath, not regular life on the farm with living/survived family members, cause they know, that even if they control their hunger (like dks can control their eternal hunger), they can and eventually Will give in to it, and its their curse. (like sylvanus says: what Joy in this curse?). So yeah, undead can't really be part of the alliance, nor horde bth, like ebon blade, but blizz put them to horde for the Game, if we had neutral factions, undead would be there, alongside argent dawn, ebon blade, dalaran, and pirates.

The part about Alliance not taking in the forsaken, imo, comes down to the game being split faction based. Heck, if you go back, there was a quest where the alliance almost got the blood elves to join back in MoP. It would never happen because that ole faction barrier.

Also just the fact that the forsaken in classic is way different then modern forsaken, they literally hated all life and the living because of the curse of undeath plus the fact that Lordaeron is their home town, most of them had nothing to do with Stormwind or the southern human kingdoms.

    • @dreiz5403

Well I don't think it's that unrealistic even without the faction base WoW has... I mean look at us, bickering and fighting among ourselves because of skin color, religion, sexuality and whatnot. So accepting walking rotting corpses as human beings ? Granted it's a fantasy world where elves, magic and all exist but racism does too.

@@gmoney9469 Different, alliance death knight are used like cannon fodder in war and they like totally acknowledge it. They are warrior, killer and butcher. But they aren't part of the forsaken culture which is horrible. We are talking about abject torture and experiment on the living. None in order to advance science but in order to make new disease capable of killing everything in an instant. Most Death Knight doesn't despite life, they simply can't understand it anymore, forsaken despise life out of jealousy and hatred (something from being rejected, I give them that).

What I love about Greymane which even this video doing a comedic take showed to some extent, is how far he's come. WoW often does a lot of black and white writing where there are the good characters and the bad characters. If you're a character somewhere in the middle like Kael'thas or Illidan, you're going to be pushed to one extreme like they were in The Burning Crusade. But Genn was actually allowed to be a bad person initially and develop over the course of the expansions and books into a truly selfless and good king.

So my question is why are the forsaken only humans? Before I got and played the game, I thought undead were just dead from all races. Can other races not be revived unless it's into a DK?

    • @JamCie
      @JamCie Рік тому +5

The Forsaken consist almost exclusively out of the former people of the once human Kingdom of Lordaeron. They got turned into undead by the plague, as their kingdom got obliterated and were dominated by the Lich King. They later broke free of his control and not longer bound to his will, united to the Forsaken.
That’s why this specific faction consists only of human undead, even though every race can be turned.

Worst King? Not by far. Anduin legit signs peace treaties with the horde who extinguished Kaldorei lands without ANY of his help sent to aid the night elves and legit told Tyrande to chill "muh horde has changed" when they still continue occupying the land and cutting trees. Hell the Gilneans helped them more than Anduin ever did. Now Anduin is on a ptsd holiday, worst king by far.

"Anduin legit signs peace treaties with the horde who extinguished Kaldorei lands" tell me what else he could do? It's not like Alliance has enough soldiers to do Germany over them.
