PlatinumWoW has the best wow lore videos for sure, though I prefer the ones about smaller subjects, like the Scarlet Crusade and the "villains who did nothing wrong" AKA a human group of masons who didn't get paid for rebuilding the city so they turned into bandits. The lore is intimate and hyperfocused on stories in down to earth zones which I like, it's less Marvel-like.
Though at the moment I am for sure much deeper in the Elden Ring lore hole. Hoping you'll check out more Vaatividya videos, particularily the "Lord of the Frenzied Flame", "Blessing of Despair", and "The Warrior Within".
We will continue with Elden Ring and more Vaati videos. This month is sort of a testing ground to see what new channels, franchises, etc to add to the regular rotation which kicks back in February. 😎🤟

Unfortunately with arrival of Dragonflight parts of this video, mainly about origins of Galakrond, source of his mutations and order of some events, were retconned by Blizzard :) (I still love how in book Warcraft Chronicles vol. 3 they retconned something that was in vol. 1)
Well at least we have some knowledge of dragons going into dragon flight and can see what changes are being made 🙂

Glad to see you have watched the video I suggested. Platinum Wow is an amazing storyteller who can really deliver information in an incredibly amusing way.
You should also check out the other video I suggested in the same post, "Warcraft Stupidest Dragon", as it deals with one of the main characters in Dragonflight and possible future aspect of the Black Dragonflight.
Congrats on having your suggestion being one of the top voted videos in our Winter Request Fest 😅 we had to choose between the two and went with this one first but eventually will check out the other vid as well 🙂

Platinum WoW also has smaller videos, but the top tier quality are all around 15-30 minutes long. "The Biggest Downgrade in Warcraft" and the "Scarlet's Crusade's Most Powerful Weapons" are around 10 minutes long, so if you want more digestible content from this creator you could aim for that.

PlatinumWoW is great for WoW Lore with humor mixed in, his latest video about a Legendary Half-Ogre/Half-Orc Character named Rexxar is definitely worth checking out.

After playing a good chunk of the newest expansion, Dragonflight, I gotta give props to Blizzard to return to some good storytelling and setting.
yeah, the game is in a much better place right now, what's sad is that there are many who are choosing "not to be fooled again" and not play, rather than enjoy the game with us. it's DEMENTED how a fanbase can act like the game they played for years is their ex-wife, as if Blizzard was a game company created for anything besides making money in the first place. now that doesnt mean that the creators of WoW didnt have any passion for their game, but a game company cannot thrive on smiles and laughter. also i might add, those same people played even as the game was getting worse, how was Blizzard supposed to know that the playerbase was unhappy? people bitch and bellyache on the forums on a daily basis, yet they always played, funny how that they dont accept that WoW was in a bad place was not Blizzard's fault alone, but the playerbase as well.

I know the lore of WoW and also that of the Old Gods, Galakrond and the aspects etc.. But the guy tells it with a spark of humor ;) Really good.
Damnit, I had always glanced over the Martin Sheen VA credit, thinking it was Michael Sheen, which always had me thinking he had such a huge range... I'm oddly bummed about it, because Michael Sheen is such a fun actor.

3:45 - "Norse Mythology"
Yes, the Titan Keepers were all named after Norse Mythology. Odyn (IRL named Odin) was the head honcho of the Titan Keepers, the custodians put in charge by the actual Titans. Along was Freya (Freja), Thorim (Thor), Lokin (Loke) and some others. The Vrykuls, who were constructs and more of a footsoldier-rank were slowly turned into fleshy beings due to Old God interference and their buildings and theme is very Norse Mythology and Vikings. The Vrykuls would eventually start to get deformed babies, much smaller than regular Vrykuls. Most babies were "disposed of" but others were sent away and those babies would eventually become the Humans in Warcraft.

If you like reading there are several great WoW novels specific to the dragons. Dawn of the Aspects, Day of the dragon, Night of the dragon. The War of the Ancients trilogy has a fair amount of lore about them too
I've already done some reading on Warcraft dragons. They're something else. My fave is Alexstrasza.
Two of my favorite Warcraft books are Day of the Dragon and Night of the Dragon.

really; you MUST see the other videos of him, my favorit is the "misserables king" (2parts) and "the castatropf of the gnomes"
So, this might be an unreasonable request given the size of the videos, but I recommend that for you guys to get a feel for wow, I recommend Barny64's Scarab lord adventures, the videos are long, but it's one of the best wow series out there where he shows how fascinating wow can be when the community is actively participating in server wide activities. Uberdanger also has a really funny series where he plays wow for the first time.
Barny's videos are as entertaining as they are long, incredibly.
As much as I love their videos, they would require more of an understanding of the game itself, the community and also many memes. Not sure if it is that accessible compared to these lore videos.

I got tell you Murder Drones Episode 2 was out like almost 2 months
All the retcons of warcraft dragons lore makes me roll my eyes at their story now. I have 0 investment in it.
Yeah, the final fight against Deathwing was incredibly epic and great, but Deathwing has probably the worst death in all history of WoW. He just...disappears. Check it out, it's actually hilarious.

I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that the rumour of Nozdormu being voiced by Martin Sheen was proven to be false. I always thought John Hurt would have been great for him. He voiced "The Great Dragon" on Merlin for years and he sounded like a damn good fit.

I'd love to see you guys react to some more lore stuff, maybe delve into the lore of each playable class, and also check out Blind: The Craft of War. It's a fanmade wow machinima/animation video from around 2007 about a Blood Elf Rogue attacking Stormwind. It is an oldie, but the quality of the animation is far, far beyond anything people, even Blizzard had done with in-game assets at the time, that is in my personal opinion ofc.
We plan to get more into some lore going forward eventually 😅

It was a strange honor to get randomly killed by Deathwing during the Cataclysm. Just sad that it didn't give me the achievement. Also, draconids exist in WoW mostly due to magical experimentation and dragon boning. LoL :P

i just finished a quest in wow that revealed malygos was almost turned into an undead and that ysera wasnted to make peace with the undead. I was so confused why but watching this it all makes sense, malygos was probably turned undead by being inside galykrons mouth and ysera wanted to make peace with the undead becuase so many of her kin where zombified by galykron.

I forget if you have seen it, but Blizzard had another game that served to bring its IPs together in a brawl format like League of Legends. It's called HEROES OF THE STORM. And there is a bad4ss trailer with Hanzo from Overwatch and Alexstreza. If you haven't seen it yet, tou should definitely check it out!

It is a testament to Alexstrasza's personality, will and love for all life that she came out of that enslavement holding no ill will towards the mortal races. As she was enslaved for years and forced to watch her young die in battle as well as watch the corrupt Dragonmaw orcs kill her children when they grew older and began getting unruly.
Though just to iterate on the Orcs enslaving Alexstrasza. At the time the Orcs were corrupted and dominated by the Demon Blood they'd been tricked into taking on Draenor. Which had made them stronger and also much more aggressive and bloodthirsty.(Orcs untouched by demon blood are actually usually shades of brown/tan colors, with some exceptions ofcourse).
The orcs still are not faultless but demon juice does kind of make you crazy.
I love platnium wow. WoWs story is probably confusing as heck for newbies in the IP and is spread across alot of books etc. He makes good videos compiling it in a funny and understandable manner.

It shows some lore but mostly an insane entertaining perspective of high level WoW Nerds.

Its funny how people laugh at how galakrond died when its literally the only way possible. Cant really damage someone whos scales are already as big as yourself, and back in the day the proto dragons only really had their breath attacks, and that was pretty much as effective as trying to extinguish a forest fire with a water pistol. Hopefully we get to see him some way in the game at some point, would be fun to fight a literal mountain that makes even Deathwing look like a small boy. Definetely gonna need a gnome tank for that one.

So Warcraft writing has gotten a LOT worse since the good ol days since all of the original writers are gone and new writers and new blizzard have had....issues. Classic WoW had amazing dragon lore...but after cataclysm, they became a joke from poor writing...dragonflight is great gameplay wise but lore wise has sucked...unfortunately wow has just been bleeding out slowly over the last 8 years cause narrative has been abysmal and Shadowlands & Battle for Azeroth were the 2 worst expansions because of direction of lore and gameplay even thought their cinematics are great
