Making the BEST Molle Panels - Truck Camper Build

- In this video I show how I made my own molle panels for a truck camper build. These panels are great storage for a pickup truck bed even if you don't plan on camping. I also cover the tools that live full time in my truck camper setup.

Thanks for the kind words! I got the folding brackets on Amazon. If you simply search "folding shelf bracket", you will see a lot of options.

I Made them with the plasma cutter and hydraulic bender

I use cinch straps when moving.
I have 2 questions. First, you should post more. Second, if someone sent you measurements, or perhaps a file and of course paid for the materials, would you be willing to cut him some custom panels for his own truck?
I hope to be able to post more projects soon.
On the cutting of parts, unfortunately I don't have time and would have to charge far too much if I did. It would be much more economical to go through a cutting service like sendcutsend if you're designing your own. Or to just buy an existing product if you don't design it.

As far as the cutting, I totally understand that. No one makes panels for an S10 so it has to be custom, like much of this build is. I appreciate the suggestion, and will hit them up!
Hi! How did you attach the folding shelf hinges to the Molle?
I first attached a wood strip of 2x2 to the panels, then wood screwed the folding shelf hinge to the wood 2x2.
Some where around the 1:30 to 1:45 mark should show the wood strip. It's painted a shiny black to blend in with the panels.

But why block the only window you can see out of thru the camper with those traction boards? Maybe flip that to the driver’s side so you can see out the back
I think you're greatly overestimating the usefulness of that vantage point. The only time I would use that look angle instead of a side mirror is if my side mirror were knocked off. And even at that...its a very small field of regard...much smaller than you think.
It's been like this for nearly 2 years now and I drive in really tight spots on my land. Not once have I wished I had that window open.
@@DirtyRunders must be different driving habits. I look thru mine all the time but grew up checking blind spots by turning around and looking.
@oafee you turn all the way around and look out the rear window to check blind spots? That's definitely different than anything I've seen taught. Blind spots are checked over the shoulder and out the rear passenger window in the states.
@@DirtyRunders I mean not 180 degrees. It’s all good. New cars have bad visibility and now they have these electronic doohickies for lane keeping and blind spots. I apologize if I came across as critical of you. I only thought your set up was excellent but to be able to keep that visibility on your passenger side would be perfect as you can’t see out the driver side anyways. How did you attach your pelican cases?
The orange one has holes drilled inside and is bolted to the panel. The others are cinch straps
where did you get the spacing of the molle panels?
I dont remember. I either guessed as to what's best or measured some of my stuff to determine optimum spacing.
I do remember sizing the slots specifically for off the shelf t nuts.
Looks like you have a hog problem. Have you ever thought about gathering your homies for a hog eradication party every so often? And nice DIY skills. I wish I had the space for some of that fancy machinery.
Hah...yeah we occasionally have to perform wildlife management tasks to keep things from getting too destroyed.
