For those who took the GED math test, are there more algebra WORD questions than actual math problems? Example . Algebra word questions : if John had 3 apple , Sarah had 2 , gabe had 6 , Adam had 9 how many apples do they have in total if 2 apple fell? Or actual math problems2+bx-37(67) =ab? Just don’t want to study the wrong things
can you work out how you got the 22 i worked out the 5/9 40 but confuse on how you got 22 from 5/9 40

You got this thgirl ! Make sure you take a GED ready test, and become really familiar with where everything is (formulas, whiteboard etc) so you don't waste time and energy on test day ! GOOD LUCK 👊
Before I retired from teaching at the end of the school year in 2020, I used to teach a course to prepare for the TASC. I have to ask you--- is the GED math really this simple? If so, it is nothing compared to what my students encountered on the TASC. (I am not saying that that is a bad thing since the TASC math was ridiculous.)
Now, the TASC will disappear in NY as of Jan 1. A neighbor has asked me to tutor him to prepare for the GED, so I'd like get a realistic picture of what he needs to know. Thanks.

@@adrianjohn4193 I am going to be working with my neighbor just because he's been my neighbor since he was a little boy. (He's now in his late 40s. He dropped out of school to care for his ailing parents.)
But, I would suggest to you that you use this UA-cam channel and some of the others I see on UA-cam since the teachers on these channels seem to be very good at clearly explaining each type of problem quite nicely. Tests like the GED seem to be highly repetitive, and if you learn how to do enough of the types of questions, you will be able to pass. Remember, you do not have to get them all right. I have heard various people suggest that you need only about half of them right to pass.
Another suggestion I would have for you is to check within your local school system for GED prep classes for adults in your area. There you'd have access to a "live" teacher who could help you with any questions you are having trouble with.
I hope the best for you. And remember, many students do not pass all sections the first time. No problem. Keep studying and try again. You will get there! (Ever see the movie "Night School" with Kevin Hart? My students recommended it to me!)
I would look at GED:com, and GED ready to get an idea. I use similar types of problems, but some video are harder than others

Question 8 I am confused about it says who ran the fastest but the answer u chose was Ben who ran the least
You have to be very careful with reading the question. If you look at the table it tells you how long it took each runner to complete a mile. Ben was the one with the lowest times (he ran a mile in 7min and 2 seconds compared to Chris who ran the mile in 7min and 47 seconds)
if I've gotten most of these correct, do you think it would be a good idea to go ahead and take the math part? Because I found most of these pretty easy, I just don't know if you made them easy on purpose or if they're similar to what's on the test lol
The level of difficulty varies between tests. I would do a GED ready practice test because that will give you the best idea of where you're at.

This isn't helpful at all. For example, question 7, you have 7.2, 6.4, and 8.13. Are those decimal places percentages of a minute? if so how do you convert that into 60? All you did was give us the answer. You can not use a calculator. You need to show your work. It helps people better understand the process. Also 21.73 is not a mile time. You can't have a 21.73 3 mile time. Makes no sense and makes things confusing.
I agree completely, i am 16 and know that most problems dont make sense, part of that reason is because the video never gives you each and every step. All teachers know that you can't assume they know anything, therefore you have to assume they know nothing. The lady also never acknowledges the "negative" comments even though it is helpful to do so. The thought that people believes this helps is absurd, listen to what everyone has to say.
