The technique described here, is a simple step-by-step guide that will help you develop a strategy to solve percent questions in the GED math test.
In the introduction we will review what is a percent and the type of percent questions you can expect in the GED math test.
In part one we will do a number problem to familiarize you with the formula for percents and then we will do word problems that ask you to determine a percentage. For example, what percentage did someone invest. These are common questions in the basic math portion of the GED math test.
In part two we will ask you to find the number, given the percentage and the whole. For example what number is 23% of 90. This is another way to formulate a percent question in the GED math test, using different parts of the same formula. Once again we will start with simple number problems to become familiarized with the formula and then we will do word problems.
In the final part of this GED math test prep video we will show you how to find the whole when you are given a number, and a percent.
After completing this video you should be ready to tackle the majority of GED math test questions involving percents.

Thanks For the tutorial. There seems to be a issue on some questions. The Questions and number change when you move to a section. Ex: question #7 started with 24 Donuts and then it changed to 25 Donuts.

I love the way you make things easy to understand but on many of the problems the numbers changed. I like to pause the video at the beginning of the question and work it out to see if I understand it so with the numbers changing it made it more challenging of me as i was getting the wrong answer lol
Thanks melon_vibes. I appreciate that very much, and thank you for the feedback.

What would you suggest be the quickest way to do the division on these percentage questions when you’re not using a calculator for the first part of the test? Trying to to do long divisions in limited time
@Tamika McGee, truthfully I always go the long division way, but I know there's a lot of tricks to do it faster. I recently came across a channel called tecmath on UA-cam where they share tricks. might help ! ua-cam.com/video/hAfUxra0HFI/v-deo.html

#7, why did you change it from 24 to 25?
I was confused on 7, because the question it had said 24% but then it switched to 25%? Can you clarify please?
There is another way to get the answer with a calculator on 1-10 just divide the part and the whole number

What about when there’s a question with two percentages
