- IBEX 450 | I was surprised to have access to the North American model of the CFMoto MT 450. I had an hour to go over the bike and take a short ride. - Frank

#Motorcycle #KTM #390Adventure - Розваги
Thanks, thanks, many thanks, WOW, your luky man to see, sit and mini demo this bike….can’t wait to see here in Canada 👍
I felt exactly the same when I sat down on one of them that was on display at motogp. It looks and feels like a full-size bike
Glad you got to ride it.
Interesting video on the 450 Frank. It will be neat when you get yours. I was not expecting it to be T700 size but it’s a good looking machine. So cool your dealer gave you a first look ride.
Thanks for this first look!
Very cool! Glad you finally got to see one. I also sat on one as well last week and I liked how it felt compared to my 390 Adventure. Definatley lower, but I do have the fork extenders installed on my 390. I didnt think it felt huge in any way as I was on a T7 the day before and that felt huge. For me the ergos are much better than the 390. I couldnt ride it as well as the bike had yet to go through Australian ADRs (standards approval) I dont think you have to go crazy on protection if youre just going to do dirt roads without enduro style riding. Upper crash bars would be fine or none at all if want to save weight. The parts arent as expensive as the KTM Powerparts. I hope to be test riding it this week or next. Currently in Australia we have over 400 pre-sold. Thats people that have put money down sight unseen on this model (apart from the internet) If the test ride goes well I may find it hard to hang on to my 2023 KTM 390 Adventure, or do I wait another few months for the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure.lol I still think the 450 MT will still be unbeatable value. This is great as its a big wake up call to the big bike companies to get their finger out and produce sub 600cc adventure bikes.
Looks nice!
Looking forward to your full review. While the bike does seem impressive, I really want to see some longer term riding and reliability reviews before pulling the trigger. I am also very interested in seeing the second gen KTM 390.
Maybe GBRacing or R&G will make engine casing covers for it, save getting lower crash bars.
This bike is great
Feels tall on tip toes with 30 inch inseam ? Was it wearing the 870mm seat ?
If not and it was at 820 mm there is a ready link that allows shorties ( I am the same at 30 inch inseam ) to drop down to 800 mm 😊
It takes a quick ten minutes of adjusting !!
I have a KLR 2014 with the same power and weight than the 450MT. However due to the larger engine of the KLR is 650cc, the KLR goes at less RPM than the 450MT @ the same speed.
I wonder if it would be a real upgrade going from the KLR to the 450MT. Cheers.
I was thinking of buying the honda 300 rally, but I'm not sure now.😅
Hi Frank. You talk with the nice guy who give you the opportunity to test the Ibex 450…..Do you know if we can see the bike at the Americade rally, Lake George N.Y. I e-mail CF Moto, but no answer about this info…
Why not go for a kove 800x? Should be delivered in the states about the same time as ibex. Seems to be an all around better and more capable bike. Price?
How do you think the stock gearing will be off road?
Hello Mike, I think. It will be fine. It reminds me a lot of my 790. Which has a really great second gear. On the CFMoto I was able to crawl and do tight turns in 2nd and it was smooth. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
The styling is really great. Great looking motorcycle.
My first impression and take away is this. Is it for me? Probably not, but it'll make a great bike for many people.
I have some concerns. Some I won't get into, but I will address one thing.
Front braking system/design.
This is a big motorcycle. It is essentially a full size suv body, with a 4 cylinder engine. -but in motorcycle form.
Let's say, the bike loaded-ready for a trip-fueled up-geared up ect is 480pound (and that is conservative).
Do you 'really' trust a small, single sided front brake? Idk if I would. Especially going down a steep curvy mountain road.
Will the single sided brake work in 95% of situations? Absolutely.
It will be sufficient for most applications.
My concerns lie in the random emergency situation, where the brakes get slammed, and the bike is going 50 when a deer jumps out, or the like.
Idk if I trust my life in that situation.
There's no 'do overs'
There's no 'oops, should have done that'
There's no going back.
Graveyards are filled with people who thought their brakes were sufficient.
Cable throttle and the same low speed first lurch of the T7. Hmmm. Only factory crash bars and skid plate. Hmmm. I'll be interested to see what you do in the end.
there are quite a few aftermarket accessories already. most of mine are from third parties, i'll get oem pannier rack tho. I've seen some australian companies designing some for it too now that bikes have been released there, so yeah it's catching up.
@@metalsadman good to hear. That will help the bikes popularity.
The Price point and its within 3 hp of the Honda NX500 , but what’s going to happen about parts availability ? I realize that CFMOTO has been around for a long time now, but Not as long as Honda. Thank You.
Any hint at a price point?
$6500 for that bike I am told. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
They never bought out a Kawa Versys 400 so hoping this twin, 21/18, low seat ADV is the unicorn for me. I've got the call in to the local dealer for fall/Christmas time. Why we get it six to nine months after the rest of the world is beyond me? Cheers
yep it's an engine cfmoto made for the scrapped ktm 490 series of bikes, 270 degree crank so it sounds great. gas gussler tho.
Noice!! Thanks for the vid

Sounds like you are sold on it 😉
What is the price for the Ibex 450
Hello Gabriel, $6500 for rhe model in this video. A steal IMHO. - Frank
@@OneOldManRiding that seems like a great deal. Thanks. Are you actually going to buy one? I've been eyeballing this bike since it's announcement
The motor is that wide? Hummm interesting!
I shall send you some pics that will not show up until the next video! - Frank
@@OneOldManRiding#rude
Do you think is like 10% smaller than T7? Or even smaller?
Hello Pat, I think 10% seems about right. Though the tank sticks out farther. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. - Frank
Please get dealer price for valve check / adjustment - reset. On the Kawasaki Versys 300X the prices are way too HIGH !!! So watch out for the same BS !!!
Mechanical throttle was an odd choice , i know they want to keep cost down, but ride by wire surely wouldn’t add that much more $$ to production
Curious, why would you want a throttle by wire on this bike?
Ability to have cruise control control, no chance of cable snapping if you don’t have one
The mileage is bad so no wonder the fuel tank is big.
Its s nice toys r us bike , the problem is , you cant get spare parts for it when the plastic Breaks and when the engine says Puff 😊 but else a nice copy of the tenere
It comes with a 5 year guarantee. Maybe you should read up on things before opening your mouth.
spare parts are already out there, it's catching up, few accessories are oit there now too.
