She was brilliant in The Lady In The Van. She told a funny story on Graham Norton about a child asking her if she really turned into a cat. She said she found herself saying ‘Just get a grip. How can I turn into a cat?’ 😂😂😂😂
I wish I had seen here on the stage. I first saw her in the Film 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' and as I'm from Edinburgh it meant a lot to me. California Suite and Gosford Park are two stand out films for me too and then there was Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. She stole every scene she was in, and was a master of her craft. I must see The Lady in the Van as I've never seen it.
I just sent a text to a friend who has not seen “Ladies in Lavender” with a comment something like, “The dames are as extraordinary as ever, but Miriam Margolyes is utterly brilliant !” 👏🏼
It is at times like these that one thinks that the allotted time that The Almighty grants us is insufficient. How many times are great people taken from us, after a long and fulfilled life, but one still thinks they had so much more to offer. Whatever your favourite pastime was, Dear Lady, may you be granted a room in His House to pursue it for the next million years.
If you watch ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brody’, It’s amazing how she remembered so many thousands of words. Some of her scenes/monologues were very long, imagine learning all that! She deserved to be a Dame, we’ll mis her.
@@phil2u48 Consider Dench's atrocious Lady Catherine de Bourgh. From an established actress it was inexcusable. No way would Maggie ever have turned in such a mess of a characterisation.
Bless you Dame Maggie, you will be sadly missed❤😢❤
My words could never convey what hers always did. My silent tribute.
Always ❤

Maggie Smith was a total one off never to be seen again and her wit was pure gold. Godspeed 🇬🇧
Miriam Margolis saying something nice about someone, I'm in shock...

The Grand Dame was a master class in how acting should be done.
Thank you for entertaining us all these years, Maggie.
RIP, a beautiful soul.
Just sick was hoping for her to last forever. So much love for her.
Sorry Miriam I know you worked with her and thought a lot of her.

For-sooth!
Brilliant actress! Whenever she cMe on screen, or stage, I always thought “ok, this is going to good”. RIP, Dame Maggie ❤
Great actress legend she will never be replaced unique lady R.I.P😢🙏❤️👏
She perfected that wonderful, baleful, withering, “YOU BLOODY IDIOT!” look. God Bless you Dame Maggie! The world weeps!
Oh no.
Miriam Margolis is in that photo, not Maggie Smith😪❤️🩹
I believe Ms Margolyes is commenting.
Why is that photo up….its not Maggie
The picture is of Miriam Margolyes. She was doing a tribute to her friend and colleague, Dame Maggie Smith.
@@dwaynepriar4948 still a weird choice for a thumbnail
She was absolutely wonderful. Her only fault? She couldn't do a Scottish (Edinburgh) accent. Ask any Scot.
Judi Dench, her equal? I don't think so.
Congrats, you're an ASS. She might not have had as many credits or awards to her name, but she IS IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE AS TALENTED.
I do. Different, but equal..Consider “A Room with a view”.
You're delusional.

@@huolalupin6008 I also dislike her in that dreadful James Bond film that a friend dragged me to see.
