It’s all about “the journey”! 😂 I don’t know how people can allow themselves to get suckered into doing so much work just to get offered a handbag that’s not even what they really want. To each his own though.. 🤷🏻
This whole system reminds me of an abusive relationship. One partner constantly scanning the mood of the other, trying to determine if they are in favour on any given day, bending their knee, pleading for their favour. Is it really worth the grovelling, the kowtowing?
@@anibabikian And that really tarnishes the brand IMO. Hermes should stand for high quality and exclusivity but when they let trashy people like the Kardashians etc get as many Birkins and Kellys as they like it's a big turn off. They even have a guy, Michael Coste, that's called "the VIP whisperer" and who loves to pose with these kind of people. Not a good look for the brand.
This is the best UA-cam video I've ever seen on Hermes. It's so refreshing and reassuring to finally find someone who hasn't been brainwashed by Hermes' narcissistic marketing technique. I would never let a store treat me the way Hermes treats it's customers nor would I ever let anyone force me to be friends with a sales associate just so I could make a purchase.
@@Jessica-e4q5w Since writing my initial comment 7 months ago and after watching her other videos, she is quite misleading in saying that she never did a pre-spend at Hermes. She has all sorts of jewellery, blanket, pillow, etc. I was fooled by her video. She also sells her Hermes bags and Hermes does not like that so it's understandable that she's been blacklisted by them and can't get a sales associate.
@marlenepopov8469 thank you for your comment - also thank you for watching and supporting my channel. Nothing misleading at all. I had no pre spend before purchasing my first Hermes bag. As I have explained multiple times pre spend in terms of Hermes is spending a ratio of at least one to one in order to be offered a bag. I have never bought anything I didn’t want in order to be offered a bag. I bought some costume jewelry at the same time as picking up a bag which was offered. I think I have explained this many times before.
I felt like a beggar in Hermes store. I’ve been looked down by the SA … dude I walk in the store means I have money to buy basically I have X50 times more money than the stupid employee yet third class service !!! I refused to be disrespected
I'm amazed that my *preluxz* tote is still in such good condition even after a few months of use. The leather is well crafted and still looks as good as when I first bought it.
It reminds me of a cult and I'd say if I want to play games, I switch on my gaming PC. Others might see that as a challenge to "play the Hermes game". If you have the impression that they don't want to sell you what you'd like to have, a no is a no, isn't it? If they already have enough customers, good for them. If not, their problem, not mine.
If you could walk right in and buy then it wouldn't be the same. There are lots of rich people out there, but they've found a way to provide exclusivity. But they should never be rude, that's a separate issue.
I have a handful of Hermes items (silver jewelry, belts, watch, etc) all purchased without any intention of requesting a bag. I just buy what I love, but don’t want to jump through hoops to spend my money. And none of the H bags make me fall madly in love like so many of my luxury bags from other houses do. I mean, yes, the quality is undeniably top notch, but they don’t give me that thrill. And as a woman in her late 50’s, the B feels a little “mature”, and since I am already mature, I don’t need to stack the deck 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
In the book Deluxe: How luxury lost its luster, the author wrote that in the 1980s, you could go into Hermes and pay a 50% deposit snd order the bag you wanted. So, it has not always been difficult to get a Birkin or Kelly.
There was a point where I thought I’d vomit if I saw one more LV Neverfull…. Now, it’s Hermes…. Despite the company’s attempt to remain “exclusive” Hermes bags (especially Kelly & Birkin) are common. I see them everywhere. I’m sure plenty are fakes, but still has the same effect. I don’t wear mine anymore bc the original appeal of being an uncommon bag no longer exists. And I certainly wouldn’t pay what they cost these days, or go through all the hoopla…. If I can’t buy the product I want when I need it, something is very wrong with the business model….
@@Wildunfiltered it is a lovely bag and probably the most practical of all the luxury totes out there. But I simply do not desire it bc it’s literally everywhere I turn - it haunts me 😂 I know I would feel self-conscious wearing it. But most my gf love theirs, and they’ve gotten the most use out it (compared to their other luxury handbags). I say whatever floats your boat 😃
Run don’t walk from an abusive relationship…for a handbag! It’s crazy, absolutely insane. Honestly, you have the money to spend and they should be happy/grateful to sell their products to you, it is a sales transaction after all. They are abusing customers to make them desperate and needy, such vile marketing strategy.
That's right. It's not that important in the big scheme of things. Why would we want to idolize material things anyway. Let them keep it. Come on people. What's the big deal. We don't have to have everything in life. @@Wildunfiltered
I am so PROUD of you. Hermes is playing mental games with you to make you think you need to belong to the Birkin Club. You don't need that poop bag meant to hold exactly that - poop.
I had the same experience as you.I was offered a Birkin with no previous purchases at all by an amaizing AS.Suddenly she left and then the coldness arrived to my Hermès expectations.🥶 🥶🥶
I wouldn't even know how to begin to get an Hermes bag, and I sure won't spend thousands of dollars to be treated like rubbish! They can keep their bags! There are so many other beautiful options. Spend where they appreciate you!
Yep I always defended the brand as I had only ever had positive experiences. Now it’s changed and it’s super frustrating. Heyho. The world won’t stop turning but it’s annoying. X
Good timing on this video. While traveling in Europe a few weeks back, my husband and I stopped in the local Hermes store and were treated very differently than what we were used to with our hometown store. My husband was really put off even though it was not his appointment. We waited for about half an hour while some of the associates were gathering and talking about some of the new stock despite our sitting in one of the lounge areas right next to them. Finally we gave up and decided to leave and walked over to LV which is consistently over the top with their customer service. Our experience was so good that when we were done, my husband - who had purchased many gifts for me at Hermes - stated, “you know, I think our experiences today have changed who I shop with”. I am happy either way of course, but I think there is a going to be a point where Hermes is going to turn off the majority of their customers. Maybe we count our blessings for what we have and move on? I don’t want to be made to feel like a “burden” to the brand.
I have to admit I went back to LV after almost a year without going and it was so refreshing for me. Service had been excellent and choosing between many bags was awesome.😂
In my experience customer service in LV Dior and Fendi is sooo different to Hermes. My previous experience with Hermes was always positive but recently it’s very disappointing.
You said exactly what's in my mind. We were in Paris last February and went to the store. The bag that I like which is not a quota bag was right in front of my face but could not buy it because I didn't win the raffle for an appointment. It left such a sour taste in my mouth that I decided to just enjoy the few Hermes items that I have. I'm done with them and I'll take my hard earned money where it is accepted. I should not insist to be accepted where I am treated not just like a second class citizen but maybe 4th or 5th☹. They are just material things after all.
"Hermes is going to turn off the majority of their customers" I think thats exactly what they want, they don't seem to want to make their bags so accessible to the majority regardless of their buying power , if it becomes so accessible I think counterfeit market will have a go at it like they did with Chanel or Louis eating away from their profit margin and market share they may be looking far ahead with their strategy ?
I went to Hermes and there was literally scanned up and down. The were nice but nothing was available Walked into Chanel and was treated like a queen. Same with Prada when I was in Italy. I have no desire for anything Hermes anymore
This is not luxury, this is control. People need to stop obsessing over designer brands as though the brands are the answer to all their problems. The turth is, the luxury brands are about control, egos & greed.
That's crazy. You spend thousands of dollars with a company you like, then be told your previous money spent means absolutely nothing. They want loyalty but no thanks back to you.Wow!
I live in London and I started my “journey” last April 2022 without building a relationship with a sales assistant. I bought things I know I would enjoy wearing and mostly from their online platform. Certainly my online and in store purchases didn’t get to 1:1 ratio. May 2023, I got offered K25 sellier in black. I was so surprised! I then asked the SA who assisted me that time how I got selected and she said it was a random allocation from the main office, not theirs(boutique). You are so right! I left a new wishlist that same time I bought the bag for K28 retourne style and it is about to expire January 2024. 😂 Im not bothered if they’re going to offer me again or not but I would keep renewing it , doesn’t hurt to do so…😂 Personally, their quota bags are not easy to wear; it comes with worry all the time. I wish all the luck to ladies who want to buy them. Take it easy though, it is just a bag and generally, people dont give a thing of the bag we wear..
Thank you so much for sharing this. I think we all have different journeys based on the country the store and the relationship. It’s so hard to navigate and as you say it’s just a bag so time to maybe move on x
I don’t feel like those Hermes bags are a status symbol anymore so I’m not going to bother. Especially since they treat their long term customers like this? Wow. I’m glad that you have the ones you like 👍🏽
My personal hermes experience was almost quite dehumanizing, it's quite cringe I felt like throwing up after walking into the store, there's such a God like mentality play with the culture as a whole they genuinely do not car for anyone.
New Subscriber, And my first Viewing.. of your channel I’m unable to afford any of These High End Handbags! Soo to hear this about The Way Hermes does BUSINESS is Shocking,! I love to Buy Classic Leather handbags! From what I’ve viewed, I love the colours you have Chosen! I Hope SOME one Prominent from Hermes hears YOUR story! 🎉
It’s like the popular person at school who decides when they want to be friends and who they want to be friends with. The only reason why this bag is put on a pedestal is because they make it hard to buy one , so if you have one you feel privileged. People should boycott them!? They’re ugly bags anyway 🙊
Im inclined to comment as someone who is struggling to get my first bag offer, you on the other hand have a handful of beautiful H quota bags and I feel it’s better you take a step back and actually enjoy what you already have as opposed to trying to chase the next thing. I feel that some clients have such an extensive collection while others are struggling to get an offer so yes take a step back and really enjoy what you have
Yes I do see that. It’s only fair that everyone has a chance to get a quota bag especially those who haven’t got any. However I suppose my argument is that I have been a loyal good customer and that seems to count for very little. At the end of the day all of us should have chance to buy whatever we want x
You’ve been incredibly lucky. In the 🇺🇸 Miami location it’s unheard of to be offered a quota bag without pre-spending. My siblings & I purchased a piece of furniture for our parent’s 50th anniversary. We used my information. Prior to that purchase Hermes was not on my radar. Because my information was used I communicated with the SA. While out to dinner with friends I noticed her bag was a Hermes & made a note of it. I went into store to ask my SA about the Lindy. I was completely naïve to the game, but she kept asking me if I was interested in any jewelry, accessories etc. II was honest & explained I was only interested in the Lindy & the SA encouraged me place it on my wishlist. I wasn’t particular on the hardware or the color yet a Lindy was never offered to me. When I’d ask they’d say one wasn’t available. I was continuously offered an exotics, after the third one I politely declined all offers stopped.
You have a lovely collection. You worked with senior SAs who could get you bags in bigger sizes, in standard leathers, and standard colors without pre-spend. But you clearly had an atypical experience. Now you’re in a more typical situation. You’ve said you’d like a Kelly 25 in a pop of color. Realistically you can go pre-loved, do the pre-spend, or try a different SA/store.
So sad, so restrictive, and so NOT luxury. I am going to stick to buying only the little bits and bobs that I want in-store or online and buying all my bags on the secondary market. Keeps it simple (and I get exactly what I want, not what they decide to "give" me).
Im glad i don't like Hermes but for Hermes lovers, good luck. I can't imagine the pain and hurt going through the hoops and games just to get the bag that i love. Everything seems good till they treat you differently, so you must be in 'good behavior' towards them to be treated well.
Thank you for sharing your honest opinion and experience with us. I haven’t been back to Hermes for the last 10 months now and I don’t think I’ll go for a bag anymore. I will still occasionally pop in and out for something I truly like and that’s it ❤
I agree with the other comments here…listening to you it sounds like an abusive relationship, that has you really distressed. Maybe what you have in your collection is good for your collection and move onto a brand that brings you joy instead.❤
Hermes wants clients that enjoy their metiers, not just their coveted quota bags. Sounds like the UK system is changing to align with the US, Asia, and Australia. I like their RTW, FJ, and shoes, so a bit of shopping is fine for a bag, IMO. Hopefully, your wishlist gets fulfilled. Happy Holidays! 🎄
It’s interesting because, until quite recently, I’ve only ever bought luxury bags from big fashion houses - never shoes, clothes, jewelry, etc. hermes was the first house I branched out in (sandals, bracelets) and I’ve thought to myself, what have I been missing out on?! bags are great but I don’t use most of them very often. there’s a whole other world of amazing quality goods ready for my consumption. 😅 I actually don’t take issue with H’s approach, for the most part. what I do take issue with is SAs being rude or condescending or customers buying items they love while also hoping for a bag and the bag never comes. there has to be some modicum of respect for a respectful customer.
Honestly, I still feel it is based on your relationship with your SA. My SA is wonderful, and we have so much fun just catching up when I go in the store. I have given him my wish list that includes a mini-Kelly and Kelly 25, and he said no issues. I have received 2 quota bags per year plus a Constance just for asking. When I asked about pre-spend he said they don't use that term. He said pre-spend does not hurt to get a bag, but it truly depends on your SA, and he said he would not require me to spend on a one-to-one ratio to get a bag. I just buy what I want and love. I have turned down many non-quota bags and jewelry I did not want. I would rather spend money on items I want at Hermes and be offered a quota bag in the store than spend 2 to 3 times in the secondary market. I just love my SA and that is what has helped me!
I think I was very fortunate with making my wish for a QB in April and getting offered the bag in October and it all came from my SA (no email from central team)so I am convinced my SA had something to do with it. It just proves that there are no hard and fast rules to it all and people go mad trying to understand it!
The only thing I want from Hermes is a backpack some knits. As far as I can see begging for anything cannot happen unless I’m begging for my child’s life. I can’t beg to spend my own money, that’s beyond insanity. Watching videos of people begging for a bag is mind boggling. Why would anyone record and publish themselves without dignity?
Im so sorry this happened to you, nobody wants to jump through hoops to buy a product they desire. They have lost a valuable customer, but I’m sure another grateful brand will lovingly take u in and care for you greatly! Greetings from Germany ❤️
I only buy my Hermes items preloved or online. The stores in my area are absolutely difficult- the pre spend is much higher than normal and the SAs are not nice, not a single one.
The prices aren’t bad for unusual vintage pieces. Anything different and unusual goes for less. IF you are willing to step outside the B and the K there are lots of fun vintage bags to explore.
Here's the thing....as an Hermes customer for 20 years, everyone has to pre-spend in order to be offered a bag. From what you talked about in your video, the SA offered you bags without pre-spend....possibly because you had a good relationship with your SA. The new SA seems to have changed the way you will be offered a bag going forward.
I only ever bought Twillys at Hermès because I like the colours and what they add to an outfit or a bag even. The service was impeccable, the SAs were always really sweet and forthcoming so it's confusing to hear how standoffish some of them are. 😮💨
I think you are right to mourn the loss of what could have been, but then move on. I am in the same situation and I’ve decided to stop chasing. There are quite a number of beautiful designers that don’t put us through this ‘head game’. We just need to make our peace with it and pivot. Blessings.
I was offered a SO in February and am waiting for it to arrive. Am I a VIP? No, Do I purchase things I don't want to have a 1:1 pre spend? No. I have only received two previous quota bags in the 7 years I've been shopping at my local boutique, and they have come in the past three years. The first three years, I was uninterested in a B,K or C. (In our local boutique, a Constance is considered a quota bag and one of my two quota bags was a Constance.) I never asked to be considered for a SO so it may be that they are offering more SOs to first timers. And as for receiving an appointment in Paris, I and traveling companions have tried over 46 times and never have received one. It seems unless you are a celebrity, PurseBop, her friends, or UA-camr/IG with many followers, forget it.
I enjoyed this video very much even though I am not interested in Hermes and I'm not drawn to their products. But a lot of what you talked about resonates with me with in respect of other brands. Particularly not being passed onto a new SA when someone leaves. I would agree that service in Fendi and Dior is super friendly and much more straight forward and whenever I have shopped there I get the impression that the SA's want you to have a great experience. I think Dayle's comments about luxury fashion and bags being similar to art works does tap into why we might be willing to play silly games to get them. I am a die hard Chanel fan with a limited budget and I admit that the harder I have to hunt a piece the more pleased I am with it! I expect that Hermes are well aware that customers are getting a sense of thrill from the hunt and validation and status from being allocated a bag and that the changes are simply a way to ratchet up demand. In contrast I have never had poor service from Chanel and most of the time it has been extremely positive and for me is an important part of the experience. It just sounds a stressful company to deal with and if it were me I would switch to pre-loved in-store if I had an Hermes itch.
Its funny that many people want to by Hermes. No personality. Same bags, same brands. Its monopoly and we are hypnotized. I like to find fresh ideas, new di signers. It makes world diverse. Diverse makes world more fair. Not only owners of Hermes and Chanel and ets can earn money. Kelly, Birkin - its just a bag, good quality, nice and etc. people normally buy because of fame that is all
Last week I was shopping for a bangle bracelet at Hermes vs Cartier. At Hermes, I can only see my SA by appointment. Which can be annoying since plans change through the day but whatever. My SA set the appointment for a Saturday but I was seen by a store manager instead because my SAs appointment overlapped with another customer. The store manager was very nice indeed. I was looking at the gold cdc bracelet with diamonds to try on. And when I did I realized it was too big for me. I asked about a custom order for my size. She told me that since “I am a customer they can do a special order sizing for me” but “because of the production capacity” I need to wait to be offered the privilege. The manager was nice enough to ask what I want besides the bracelet so she could bring it from her next trip to Paris. I immediately compared that experience with Cartier. I did not need an appointment, I just walked in. The choices of bangles in various sizes and widths are mind boggling. I tried on multiple bracelets before settling on one. I immediately regretted my decision after walking out of the store and came back on Sunday to try on more bangles until I got exactly what I wanted. Cartier just offers better customer experience altogether. You feel like they really want to make you happy. Plus, the store is open on a Sunday, and Hermes never is. When you work 45+ hours a week and take care of the baby the rest of the time, you just don’t have time to get to Hermes on a Monday at 11 am when they are open. Same thing at Bottega Venetta in Rome. After I bought some apparel there I kept in touch with an SA and asked her to put me on a list for a bag I liked that was sold out. She immediately informed me when the bag arrived and i paid for it so she could ship it to me in the US. It was easy, fun, and I am becoming a huge Bottega fan. Not only does their quality speak for itself, their service is fantastic and personable
The sad thing is that for the most part, luxury items are mostly coveted and purchased by upper middle / middle class folks like myself. I work too hard for my money for that kind of shit. ie: if a person like myself makes aprx 60k per year, why in the hell would I pay 15-50k for a frigging handbag. That is like working for Hermes for a year and getting a shitty T-Shirt! Hermes is like banks, they don't give 2 craps for you, they only want to keep the shareholders and CEO's happy.
the thing that aggravates me, if it's this journey and game, how come the preloved market is so saturated with them. clearly, those that are being offered the bags are resellers or are normal buyers turning around and selling them for profit. making it a pain for us who love the bags.
Yep agreed. They set up the marketing to make it so exclusive that the resale value is crazy so that it sparks a frenzy. However I agree there are a lot on the resale market so how can that be? It has to be people getting offers and flipping them for resale profit. Which just feeds into the whole cycle. Or it’s resellers themselves who have connections at Hermes allowing the game to continue. Or there are so many super fakes? Who knows! Whereas the humble customer like me who just wants to buy a bag is left in this ridiculous position.
Thank you for sharing your story. I watched other UA-camrs; they still get VIP offers and Special Orders. Can you change your associate at the store? It just maybe the SA you have now.
I always love hearing your stories about Hermes’ Deb because the system in the UK is incredibly different to Australia. It sounds like they are aligning their spend requirements so people stop country hopping to get bags. Unfortunately you’re now experiencing our system which is very much spend ratio driven.
I got to the point with my S.A. that I straight just asked them. Both my home boutique on Rodeo Drive and the Waikiki boutique where I usually vacation every year. But that was after I had known them for a little while and spent money. If you're really not interestedin anything else from Hermes and they now have a strict quota system, then I would say it's going to be difficult for you. But at least you already have some nice Hermes bags. I switched to a new boutique in the Los Angeles area. My S.A. and all the staff there are much nicer.
@@vena936 Yes, my B.H. S.A. said Constance is a quota bag. Thats why my Kelly got delayed til the following year. Because its only 1 quota bag per calendar year now.
I’m sorry. It sounds so frustrating and I can understand your frustration because you have been such a good and loyal customer and then it’s like they turned their backs on you 😢
I think it’s pretty obvious that if there is a central allocation system, then the things they are looking at are your spend history, categories of purchase, your past collection etc. if you are buying nothing and your SA cannot apply on your behalf, then you won’t get offered anything. In Australia and Asia it’s much more transparent. Spend x amount and we will help you. They are a business and when you see LA celebs spending big and getting what they want, you know it’s not really about brand loyalty and knowing the equestrian history 😂
The only bag you really need is a 35 togo noir with palladium- and I will swap you mine for that beauty behind you. It's still the nicest Birkin I've ever seen and I am only maintaining our friendship in the hope that one day I might find myself in a position to pinch it- but then of course deny it xx when it's not fun that's when you stop. We should have another pop at Paris! xx
Nice try Anders!!!! Unfort I won’t be swapping - 1 - I already have a b35 in noir (admittedly ghw) and 2 - I love love love my Blue Encre!!! 😂 😂 and yes it’s no longer fun - we def need to try Paris again!

I love sharing this stuff- also just saw your H clic clac and reminded me of the last time we had burgers. Also beautiful- you really do have lovely taste (now trying the approach of being nice to get the bag)
@@WildunfilteredI don’t care where you stock them, they are perfect and ppl know that having money it’s not always like “oh,I don’t buy cheap things”,cause that it’s most like a complex most of the time.
I don’t have that kind of money but if I did I would never spend $10,000-30,000 for a leather handbag- it’s completely crazy! I can’t imagine someone who has the money and wants to buy a Hermes bag having to wait years to possibly be “offered” a bag!! Hermes needs to look at the world we live in- what kills me us when someone says I was offered a bag but it’s not the one I wanted!! No thanks- I’ll take a Coach bag any day!!
Why do people fall for this stupid game? If everyone said, I'm done Hermes would have no choice but to change their ways. I personally would never spend an exorbitant amount for a handbag to feel like I'm at the top the pecking order of society. Materialism at its finest.
How did you do a wish list without the opportunity to first try on the bag for determining the proper bag size to suit you best? Is there a system they use to assist you with the color , hardware and leather types options when making a wish list? You look like an intelligent mature lady. What kept you coming back for more? Did it make you feel extra special, privileged, high status? Were you hypnotized? I'm not judgemental, but I'm very curious about their mystique marketing strategy.
So my experience was that I was able to see a bag in the size and leather and then was shown leather samples to choose the colour. Many people however say that they are not shown anything and have to rely on images online etc. X
I have seen these videos in the past two or three years about people quitting Hermes or Chanel. Then, I find them posting one or two years later (now), they come on video with exciting news and now they didn’t plan going to the store, but landed another exclusive bag. Either you have everything you need from Hermes and finally content with your collection and decided to move on to another brand. I will wait and see when you come back with another Hermes bag. They are great bags as I have a good collection myself. And I really see it as investment pieces. I wouldn’t invest or buy LV. It’s like buying coach. Everyone can go in and buy.
I understand your comments - however I am a fan of the bags still so I have not said I want to quit buying the bags - I am just struggling with the new system. So time will tell if I manage to find another SA who will assist me or if I walk away fully. If I do walk away it’s because of the treatment not because of the actual items etc. So who knows what’s in the future x
I feel you on this Deb, I’ve always had really good fortune with Hermes I have never really had to chase the bags I want. I always feel slightly bad when I see other peoples stories of how hard of a time they’re having. Great video I hope you feel better soon💚💚💚💚.
Thanks for sharing. Considering my local boutique is 40m (one way) and the 1:1 to 4:1 prespend ratios, it seems easier for me to go preloved. Just don’t have the time to develop a relationship while HOPING for a bag.
I don't own a Hermes bag and I presume that I never will. Staying mostly with LV, Dior, Gucci, Prada, YSL and Fendi. I managed to buy two popular Chanel bags, and after how hard that was, am not likely to get another. I tried desperately with numerous SA's to get a new Kelly bag, but with no luck. If you weren't a legacy client you simply didn't get one. That has soured me more on Chanel. Life is way too short to have to work this hard to spend thousand of dollars!
It sounds like a crass money-grab is taking over the company, and old fashioned values are on the way out. I recall being able to just walk into Hermès and be able to buy a (now quota) bag outright. I didn't personally, but I know people who did. If you know it's just transactional it means you can park your disappointment and go somewhere else and forget trying to cultivate anything but your rare garden orchids Fendi is an obvious candidate. But also small atelier and boutique in Paris, Morabito (they have fantastic rare skins and did a bag for Marilyn Monroe called the Orsay).
Feels like Hermes is forcing ppl to give up on their bags, so they can focus on the top tier genuine clients. Very well, I am not even gonna try to get on board. I am glad their style aren't for me either xoxo
I wonder how Hermes' pay system of their SAs works? Evidently not by commissions since they're not rewarded by letting customers walk into the store to buy the bags.
I did hear that they do not get commission for the sale of quota bags so there is no incentive for them to assist us. I am not sure if they get commission at all. X
I wouldn't even consider spending so much $ on a handbag. You can buy a home in parts of the midwest for a homeless family w/ the cost of some of their bags.
What I understand is each country has its own qualifications to get a quota bag. From watching you tube, seems like the U.K. has been more lenient and you just had to create a wish list. In the U.S., it’s always been understood that you need to pre spend. Used to be able to buy 2 quota bags per year. Now it’s only one. So from what you’re describing, seems like Hermes in the U.K. has changed so that it’s more like the other countries.
@@Wildunfiltered I don't think they can be more transparent. I believe under UK trading laws requiring a pre spend would be illegal and they could be reported to trading standards. On that basis I don't think they would ever put it in writing or say it in a way that didn't have plausible deniability. Which is why this insanely murky system exists that leaves would be customers frustrated and baffled.
I want to start by saying how much I appreciate you sharing this video and information with us. You have a beautiful bag collection. I find it interesting that many people who have been offered and have purchased a quota bag(s) seem to see issues with not being offered or purchase another quota bag. Those who have never been offered or purchased a quota bag have been saying for YEARS, what you are NOW saying. My question is this, why was there not an issue or concern before now with the way Hermes conduct their business? I will be quite honest with you; I will NEVER understand spending money for something in order to be OFFERED the one thing I'm really wanting in the first place. It's the customer's fault and I don't understand why you or others can't see this. THE CUSTOMER is and should ALWAYS be the conductor of this train. You the consumer gave that up. HERMES OWN You the customer ❤🌟
Thank you so much for your comments. Fully agree - I would never buy anything for the sole purpose of getting an offer. I also appreciate I have many beautiful bags and have been offered many over the years and I acknowledge that many people are waiting for their first one. However my point is not that I haven’t been offered anything for a long time - I am always happy to wait etc. My issue is the lack of communication and the vague and strange ambiguous way it now is. The not knowing what has changed and why and the walking on egg shells. I have not had any issues until recently so that is why I am sharing my thoughts now. I know many people have had different experiences for some time but I can only talk about my own experiences. X
@Wildunfiltered , you've stated you will not buy anything from Hermès, for the sole purpose of an offer, & you are willing to wait. You've spent thousands at Hermes, and they are LITERALLY treating you like this. If Hermes was a man, treating me the way Hermès is treating you and so many more others... I'd say a few great words and walk the hell away. I will NOT be controlled like this. I will never understand. Maybe there are lesser bags being produce by fewer artisans? For an SA to treat another human this way and in some cases worse, they must be under serious control. So sad for them. ♥️🌟
Yes, it is a ridiculous conversation to have! I couldn’t be arsed , I’m too old for all that shiz. Enjoy what you’ve got, Deb, they’re ones you’ve asked for specifically which is better than some who have taken anything offered for fear of not being offered in future. Since Chanel’s monumental price increases and people realising that anyone can actually shop at Hemès, Hermès have become very particular in who they sell to. They seem to want - preferably - a wealthy customer who buys regularly across all offerings and appears to have some perceived standing in society. Genuine love of the brand means nothing to them, we need to spend lots of money and often and our SA needs to like us. Never played the game, never will. My life will be no different if I have/don’t have a Hermès bag.
I think you're making the right decision. If people stop purchasing surely they'd be forced to change their business model, else risking going out of business entirely? Some of these bags cost more than the UK average yearly salary and it blows my mind that folks are expected to feel grateful that a person who is employed solely to sell and increase profits is nice to them.
I think Hermes must have had supply chain issues during the pandemic, coupled with increased demand with the rise in popularity of influencers. They also could see the huge reseller market. These factors caused them to revamp their system.
I will not be treated as a cash cow by any brand. I will not be dictated to by a brand telling me when I can have a handbag, or what colour it might be and then expect me to wait like a good little girl for it to arrive - sometime. I have had over two hundred bags (some now sold), a third of which are classed as very “high end” classic brands and several of those brands I will never purchase from again because they are taking their clients for mugs and two of those brands the service and quality has disappeared out the door! I, for one, am not paying to be treated like “s**t”.
@@Wildunfiltered yes it is. I have amassed my collection of bags over more than 50 years and now feel these big name brands are taking the **** out of their customers. I feel it has got to the point where just by carrying an Hermes or Chanel bag you might as well have “mug” written across your forehead because, as you mentioned, none of these bags are actually worth the money we pay for them, and the pricing has nothing to do with exclusivity because you see so many of Hermes, Chanel, Dior bags absolutely everywhere - it’s just greed on the part of the brand! I don’t belittle anyone who wishes to buy, I just love bags and fully understand their appeal, I just don’t want to give my money to greedy brands that just don’t care about their customers any more.
I don't know if this is true anymore but a friend who used to work there said there were 100s of bags in the store, they just create a sense of paucity so you think you are getting something that is highly sought after. He doesn't work at Hermes anymore so I don't have further intel. (he works for a jewellery brand now so someone who is very much in the high fashion/ luxury items sector) Other friends who work in the fashion industry have said that Hermes look up your social profile before they permit you to have an appointment in Paris. It is not random selection. If you cannot get an appointment in Paris there is a reason for it ! They have looked up your social profile before allocating an appointment to you. I was never particularly into the bags but have always loved their scarves and wear a lot of scarves in general and only thought of getting a bag when it was much too late for me with their system. Well... when other stores are so willing to take my money I can't be bothered with them. It's still interesting to hear of others experiences and whilst I would have liked to have an Hermes bag as part of my collection I am not sure I want to play mind games or have to spend endlessly on crap I don't want. I have friends who will literally buy mugs, scarves, ashtrays every time they have to give a gift to someone for an occasion. You will see influencers touting these products as part of their Hermes splurges but it's really only so that they can build a profile. Some of them are probably fogging it on a resale website for a loss. It's so cringe !!
Thank you for sharing this. I am sure there are plenty of bags available as with my previous SA he would offer me different options on top of wishlist items so I know they have some in stock. X
It definitely sounds like you need a new SA.. that said, it is very unusual internationally to not need to spend in other departments in order to access quota bags / SO
What I don’t understand is why they are turning their backs on the money that created their brand. That’s the whole point of luxury is the loyalty but there’s no loyalty anymore.
Why ever would a consumer be held to ransom by the seller….anyone dealing with them are bonkers…by a Launer ..A uk brand made to order and none of this clap trap… as used by The Queen too.
I collect luxury handbags. I have yet to get a Hermes Birkin which I would love. I have over 75 bags of mostly Chanel, LV and Gucci. I put a wishlist in with a SA at Hermes but nothing for 8 months now. I've bought Hermes shoes, a belt, 6 wallets, jewelry, cosmetics...all of which I would have bought anyway but still nothing. I find Hermes boutiques very pretentious. The staff make you feel that they are doing you a service just talking to you. I make very good money and they seem to treat everyone like they are better. They are sales clerks period. I will buy from a reputable preloved company. I would rather spend more and buy exactly what I want and not deal with the Hermes shopping experience again. My Chanel and Gucci SA's are very pleasant and even sent me Christmas gifts which I never expected.
This is very similar to my experience. Second hand market for me from now on, I don’t have time for these silly games I’ll spend my money where I want when I want!
I so was dreaming of a ‘Kelly’ bag, but the price is a big thing to me! Unless I win the lottery it will never happen seeing I’m a senior citizen, and for me that’s ok! My goodness you have some amazing bag…. I’m a Coach girl! I have 2 that I love, I just received my second one today! I have more of their outlet bags but unless you look closely you can’t tell, I don’t think! Good for you, let your voice and your money do the talking! Be the one with real class!
It is time to forget Hermes. I used to go in, look around and try a few scents. Now I am put on a pad and have to wait my turn. My money will not be given to such merchants. Yes, it is time to walk away.
Yes it’s crazy how you have to wait to be seen even if you just want to browse. Chanel and LV have a better system where you only put your name down if you want help. Otherwise you can browse. X
I don’t necessarily want to have ‘a relationship’ with any SAs, particularly with Hermes SAs because most of them I don’t feel like interested in that ‘relationship’ either. They have too many customers who are willing to do anything and everything for a bag- lots of Chinese customers with big money - so the whole ‘culture becomes really perverse…. I don’t even feel comfortable when I am offered a bag - because I feel that I supposed to be grateful- it’s just a thing - a bag - why do I need to feel grateful for paying so much money for it? In Australia the bags are at least 15% more expensive than in France …. It’s crazy…. 10 years ago I used to Hermes like to any other luxury store - now it always feel that ‘I should be lucky to be in there” SAs became so powerful….I find in Paris (due to maybe huge number of customers) most of them impatient and rude…. And I am sorry but I blame huge number of Chinese customers for that…. They reduce their purchases at Hermes - only then the company will start charging
if they’re going this route with allocation from HQ they should really start taking into account customer website purchases to count towards pre-spend. a lot of SAs tell their clients to buy an item online if they see if because store stock can be so low. if it’s not all about the SA relationship / purchasing with the SA now then why not? (I know probably because it’s another hoop for us to jump through). I feel like there’s two tracks to get a QB now - one through an SA you have a relationship with and a new one from HQ allocating bags to maybe make it more “fair” and spread the bags around. but who knows for sure! elusive, as always.
I never played the Hermès game or any luxury brand game! Absolutely refuse to beg anyone to take my hard earned money, just can’t understand people that do. I won’t wait in line to be told of by a Chanel SA. No bag is worth your time, patience on top of all that money! As much as I love my luxury bags, I love myself more 😉
That sounds like an abusive relationship 😂 You spend thousands with these companies and your sales associate MAKES THEIR MONEY FROM SELLING TO YOU..but treats you like crap? Ain’t nothing worth that No ma’am
Why would people spend so much money to be treated like second class citizens and then not even be offered something you really want? That’s crazy!
It really makes me question myself x
It’s all about “the journey”! 😂 I don’t know how people can allow themselves to get suckered into doing so much work just to get offered a handbag that’s not even what they really want. To each his own though.. 🤷🏻
@@atmd89 yep… no thank you - I’ll spend my money elsewhere
This whole "journey" feels like an abusive relationship. Easy to get in, hard to get out
They are so good at pua, it’s become a cult😂
This whole system reminds me of an abusive relationship. One partner constantly scanning the mood of the other, trying to determine if they are in favour on any given day, bending their knee, pleading for their favour. Is it really worth the grovelling, the kowtowing?
No it’s def not worth it. Shouldn’t be like that.
Omg great description, I always got a cult vibe from their way of selling. Like they judge if you are good enough to buy one, grosses me out
Unfortunately, they don't play games with celebrities nor the influencers..... They don't hide that fact either!
@@emilygooner9697yess a cult of stupidity… begging for bags 😂 it’s insane .
We make the game possible ! Without the “Customer” There is no Hermes
True! X
Not true for customers who only wish to purchase handbags. 😂😂
La sakoj ene de @ *amzrepo* estas perfektaj kiel donacoj por amikoj. La prezo ne estas alta kaj la kvalito estas bona.
Not really! they have enough costumers who don't have to try to get them.
@@aaltia customer is a customer either way. Your argument makes no sense.
Thank you so much. That is really kind and I really appreciate it x
Yes, that is just disgusting.
well said
@@Jessica-e4q5w Since writing my initial comment 7 months ago and after watching her other videos, she is quite misleading in saying that she never did a pre-spend at Hermes.
It’s not worth it x
yes, no offence to the SA, they are just mere salesperson like those in target. dont act superior to the customers! they are more well off than SAs.
When a wealthy person flaunts their car collection, no one complains, nor does anyone complain about them collecting bags from *preluxz*
They suck the joy out of the whole experience. If I’m spending that amount of money on a bag, they should be kissing my ass not the other way round!
It makes it stressful which I really don’t like. I don’t expect or want any special treatment - just respect x
I want to walk into a store and buy what I want. Having to cultivate a relationship with an SA is annoying to me. This isn’t just Hermes.
It’s ridiculous that you have to work out how it all works and how to navigate! It’s buying a bag at the end of the day. X
Lol cultivate😂😂 not harness
In the US, Some of the SA don't even want you there.
If you could walk right in and buy then it wouldn't be the same. There are lots of rich people out there, but they've found a way to provide exclusivity. But they should never be rude, that's a separate issue.
You dont understand class… is not just about the money
I have a handful of Hermes items (silver jewelry, belts, watch, etc) all purchased without any intention of requesting a bag. I just buy what I love, but don’t want to jump through hoops to spend my money. And none of the H bags make me fall madly in love like so many of my luxury bags from other houses do. I mean, yes, the quality is undeniably top notch, but they don’t give me that thrill.
And as a woman in her late 50’s, the B feels a little “mature”, and since I am already mature, I don’t need to stack the deck 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂
I find it looks cool when you pull the sides out and wear it open .. but I understand what you are saying
In the book Deluxe: How luxury lost its luster, the author wrote that in the 1980s, you could go into Hermes and pay a 50% deposit snd order the bag you wanted. So, it has not always been difficult to get a Birkin or Kelly.
Yep it has definitely changed massively since then x
that feels so much better
Awww I love my Neverfull! 😂 that aside - yes they are damaging their brand exclusively but their results are showing the strategy works for them.
Don't walk away. RUN!
Agreed
Run don’t walk from an abusive relationship…for a handbag! It’s crazy, absolutely insane. Honestly, you have the money to spend and they should be happy/grateful to sell their products to you, it is a sales transaction after all. They are abusing customers to make them desperate and needy, such vile marketing strategy.
So many people saying the same x
100%!
It’s next to impossible to get a quota in Canada without a huge pre-spend. I’m not willing to spend $30-$40k for the chance to buy a $15k bag.
Agreed x
That's right. It's not that important in the big scheme of things. Why would we want to idolize material things anyway. Let them keep it. Come on people. What's the big deal. We don't have to have everything in life. @@Wildunfiltered
Very true and I do agree with this. X
Please tell me you’re making this up. Please tell me you’re kidding.
15K for a bag???
I am so PROUD of you. Hermes is playing mental games with you to make you think you need to belong to the Birkin Club. You don't need that poop bag meant to hold exactly that - poop.
I think it’s time x
yes! they are playing games and those who fall for it are pathetic.
I had the same experience as you.I was offered a Birkin with no previous purchases at all by an amaizing AS.Suddenly she left and then the coldness arrived to my Hermès expectations.🥶 🥶🥶
It’s def a relationship thing x
I wouldn't even know how to begin to get an Hermes bag, and I sure won't spend thousands of dollars to be treated like rubbish! They can keep their bags! There are so many other beautiful options. Spend where they appreciate you!
Totally agree x
Yes you had great experiences early days- a dream run! This is why I’m not a fan of the house…. Alienating their customers is just not ok.
Yep I always defended the brand as I had only ever had positive experiences. Now it’s changed and it’s super frustrating. Heyho. The world won’t stop turning but it’s annoying. X
How does it make you feel as a customer when you are treated so badly? It's the antithesis of customer service...
If really does make me question myself x
The were nice but nothing was available
Walked into Chanel and was treated like a queen.
Same with Prada when I was in Italy. I have no desire for anything Hermes anymore
This is not luxury, this is control. People need to stop obsessing over designer brands as though the brands are the answer to all their problems. The turth is, the luxury brands are about control, egos & greed.
Seems that way x
That's crazy. You spend thousands of dollars with a company you like, then be told your previous money spent means absolutely nothing. They want loyalty but no thanks back to you.Wow!
Exactly x
I live in London and I started my “journey” last April 2022 without building a relationship with a sales assistant. I bought things I know I would enjoy wearing and mostly from their online platform. Certainly my online and in store purchases didn’t get to 1:1 ratio.
May 2023, I got offered K25 sellier in black. I was so surprised! I then asked the SA who assisted me that time how I got selected and she said it was a random allocation from the main office, not theirs(boutique). You are so right!
I left a new wishlist that same time I bought the bag for K28 retourne style and it is about to expire January 2024. 😂 Im not bothered if they’re going to offer me again or not but I would keep renewing it , doesn’t hurt to do so…😂
Personally, their quota bags are not easy to wear; it comes with worry all the time.
Wow. I’m glad that you have the ones you like 👍🏽
Yes exactly. I still love the brand and won’t be put off fully but it’s a shame.
My personal hermes experience was almost quite dehumanizing, it's quite cringe I felt like throwing up after walking into the store, there's such a God like mentality play with the culture as a whole they genuinely do not car for anyone.
It’s a shame

😂😂
That’s funny I agree totally
It’s like the popular person at school who decides when they want to be friends and who they want to be friends with. The only reason why this bag is put on a pedestal is because they make it hard to buy one , so if you have one you feel privileged. People should boycott them!? They’re ugly bags anyway 🙊
I love the aesthetic of the bags but don’t like the game x
I agree, I find them very ugly. Although, my aesthetic is more fun and lively vs severe and matronly.
How are you telling her that she shouldn’t want any more bags? Who are you to say that? Hermes now having people going after each other…lol
@@Wildunfiltered Do you really think Hermes cares if you’re loyal? Hermes has got you in a trance.
Wow thanks for sharing
You have a lovely collection. You worked with senior SAs who could get you bags in bigger sizes, in standard leathers, and standard colors without pre-spend. But you clearly had an atypical experience. Now you’re in a more typical situation. You’ve said you’d like a Kelly 25 in a pop of color. Realistically you can go pre-loved, do the pre-spend, or try a different SA/store.
Yes I agree I had an atypical experience. I think it’s time to hunt these bags elsewhere x
Good luck!
So sad, so restrictive, and so NOT luxury. I am going to stick to buying only the little bits and bobs that I want in-store or online and buying all my bags on the secondary market. Keeps it simple (and I get exactly what I want, not what they decide to "give" me).
Very smart x
Im glad i don't like Hermes but for Hermes lovers, good luck. I can't imagine the pain and hurt going through the hoops and games just to get the bag that i love. Everything seems good till they treat you differently, so you must be in 'good behavior' towards them to be treated well.
It’s just not worth the stress x
Just but if you like, not for the purpose of getting a quota bag 😅
Thank you for sharing your honest opinion and experience with us. I haven’t been back to Hermes for the last 10 months now and I don’t think I’ll go for a bag anymore. I will still occasionally pop in and out for something I truly like and that’s it ❤
It’s a shame as I love the brand. X
I agree with the other comments here…listening to you it sounds like an abusive relationship, that has you really distressed. Maybe what you have in your collection is good for your collection and move onto a brand that brings you joy instead.❤
Yep maybe it’s the universe’s way of telling me it’s time to move on. X
I do like a lot of things at Hermes but not everything and I definitely won’t buy something I don’t want. X
I have to say I like the ready to wear more than the bags.
That’s fabulous! Thank you for sharing. I’m glad your SA is amazing. My previous 2 SA’s were like this. X
I think you were very lucky the first few years to be honest. Most people need to spend a lot and wait years before being offered a quota bag.
Yep I think I was very lucky and maybe my luck has finally run out. X
I think I was very fortunate with making my wish for a QB in April and getting offered the bag in October and it all came from my SA (no email from central team)so I am convinced my SA had something to do with it. It just proves that there are no hard and fast rules to it all and people go mad trying to understand it!
Yep I always believed that the SA has a lot to do with it but either things have changed in my store or they are in effect just telling me that x
Thank you for your comments. I have never and would never beg so that is why it’s time for me to walk away.
Im so sorry this happened to you, nobody wants to jump through hoops to buy a product they desire. They have lost a valuable customer, but I’m sure another grateful brand will lovingly take u in and care for you greatly!
Greetings from Germany ❤️
Yep I am definitely loving LV at the moment so it has given me the opportunity to explore other brands x
I only buy my Hermes items preloved or online. The stores in my area are absolutely difficult- the pre spend is much higher than normal and the SAs are not nice, not a single one.
Usually the prices for preloved are so high but the market is changing too. It’s should be a nice experience to buy these things not a stress x
Yep it seems that way x
I only ever bought Twillys at Hermès because I like the colours and what they add to an outfit or a bag even. The service was impeccable, the SAs were always really sweet and forthcoming so it's confusing to hear how standoffish some of them are. 😮💨
Yes it’s very inconsistent which is why it makes it very difficult to navigate x
I think you are right to mourn the loss of what could have been, but then move on. I am in the same situation and I’ve decided to stop chasing. There are quite a number of beautiful designers that don’t put us through this ‘head game’. We just need to make our peace with it and pivot. Blessings.
Yep enough chasing. More respect x
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so glad you were offered a SO. I love hearing your stories x
I’m losing the itch for the brand unfort.
shopping experience supposed to be happy! We are buying an item yes, also happiness spending this type of money for a bag!!!
Agreed x
Its funny that many people want to by Hermes. No personality. Same bags, same brands. Its monopoly and we are hypnotized.
I like to find fresh ideas, new di signers. It makes world diverse. Diverse makes world more fair. Not only owners of Hermes and Chanel and ets can earn money.
Kelly, Birkin - its just a bag, good quality, nice and etc. people normally buy because of fame that is all
Yes maybe it’s time to seek out some new fresh designers x
Thank you so much for sharing this. X
At the end of the day they are a business x
the thing that aggravates me, if it's this journey and game, how come the preloved market is so saturated with them. clearly, those that are being offered the bags are resellers or are normal buyers turning around and selling them for profit. making it a pain for us who love the bags.
Yes maybe but I feel it would be very difficult to make that happen. X
I always love hearing your stories about Hermes’ Deb because the system in the UK is incredibly different to Australia. It sounds like they are aligning their spend requirements so people stop country hopping to get bags. Unfortunately you’re now experiencing our system which is very much spend ratio driven.
Yep I think I’ve been super ‘lucky’ and that it’s time to move on. Shame x
Thanks for sharing your experience. 🎉❤
My pleasure 😊
I got to the point with my S.A. that I straight just asked them. Both my home boutique on Rodeo Drive and the Waikiki boutique where I usually vacation every year. But that was after I had known them for a little while and spent money. If you're really not interestedin anything else from Hermes and they now have a strict quota system, then I would say it's going to be difficult for you. But at least you already have some nice Hermes bags. I switched to a new boutique in the Los Angeles area. My S.A. and all the staff there are much nicer.
Yep I think it’s time I just face it head on and ask. X
Do you happen to know if the Constance in Beverly Hills or in any LA area is considered a quota bag? Thank you.
@@vena936 Yes, my B.H. S.A. said Constance is a quota bag. Thats why my Kelly got delayed til the following year. Because its only 1 quota bag per calendar year now.
I’m sorry. It sounds so frustrating and I can understand your frustration because you have been such a good and loyal customer and then it’s like they turned their backs on you 😢
Yep it’s so frustrating x
I don’t even walk into Hermes just because of this game. It has completely turned me off from it. I spend my money elsewhere.
Yep it should be like this x
I've posted it in my fb group and will do same on my linkedin that has many H employées connected :) thanks for sharing
Thank you so much x
I think it’s pretty obvious that if there is a central allocation system, then the things they are looking at are your spend history, categories of purchase, your past collection etc. if you are buying nothing and your SA cannot apply on your behalf, then you won’t get offered anything. In Australia and Asia it’s much more transparent. Spend x amount and we will help you. They are a business and when you see LA celebs spending big and getting what they want, you know it’s not really about brand loyalty and knowing the equestrian history 😂
Beautiful collection though! Enjoy it. I wish I had been buying in the good old days.
Thank you. Yes it’s becoming clearer that it’s time to move on x
@@Wildunfiltered even mark was just behind me and commented on it. I can’t contain my envy. Just binging your content at present and thanks for the lovely shoutout. I love sharing this stuff- also just saw your H clic clac and reminded me of the last time we had burgers. Also beautiful- you really do have lovely taste (now trying the approach of being nice to get the bag)
@@Emmaanders the time when I ‘accidentally’ ordered double chips with my burger? 😂
Thanks for watching and commenting my love. You know you were so instrumental in me even giving UA-cam a go! X
I don’t even get how people can afford 2 such expensive bags a year 😊
They are not cheap that’s for sure x
@@Wildunfilteredbut the way you present them on a cheap shelve make them look fake
@@New-bw4kz oh I love my ikea shelving! Does the job perfectly!
@@WildunfilteredI don’t care where you stock them, they are perfect and ppl know that having money it’s not always like “oh,I don’t buy cheap things”,cause that it’s most like a complex most of the time.
This is crazy! Like they don’t want your money!
You need a new sales associate. But as we talked before customer service means customer service.
Yep I think it’s time x
I don’t have that kind of money but if I did I would never spend $10,000-30,000 for a leather handbag- it’s completely crazy! I can’t imagine someone who has the money and wants to buy a Hermes bag having to wait years to possibly be “offered” a bag!! Hermes needs to look at the world we live in- what kills me us when someone says I was offered a bag but it’s not the one I wanted!! No thanks- I’ll take a Coach bag any day!!
👍
Why do people fall for this stupid game? If everyone said, I'm done Hermes would have no choice but to change their ways. I personally would never spend an exorbitant amount for a handbag to feel like I'm at the top the pecking order of society. Materialism at its finest.
It’s a very good point x
Walk away. I won’t beg anyone for a bag!
Quite right! It’s crazy x
Thank you for the video.
You're welcome
Thank you! Yes I have been extremely fortunate up until now so I guess my luck has run out x
Thanks for sharing. Considering my local boutique is 40m (one way) and the 1:1 to 4:1 prespend ratios, it seems easier for me to go preloved. Just don’t have the time to develop a relationship while HOPING for a bag.
Shouldn’t be so difficult x
so so sorry love your your bag merry christmas to you and family
Happy holidays! X
Very true!
Its like running in a marathon ,you can see the finish line then someone sticks their foot out and trips you. You're left heartbroken and defeated
I alway feel it’s like moving the goalposts x
It sounds like a crass money-grab is taking over the company, and old fashioned values are on the way out.
I recall being able to just walk into Hermès and be able to buy a (now quota) bag outright. I didn't personally, but I know people who did.
If you know it's just transactional it means you can park your disappointment and go somewhere else and forget trying to cultivate anything but your rare garden orchids
Fendi is an obvious candidate. But also small atelier and boutique in Paris, Morabito (they have fantastic rare skins and did a bag for Marilyn Monroe called the Orsay).
Oh how interesting! I will check this out!
@@Wildunfiltered It is a true jet set traditional handbag house. Rare bags and set with jewels.
I just got a purse and heart keychain from Aspinal of London they have some very good items some are a bit matronly.@@Wildunfiltered
Feels like Hermes is forcing ppl to give up on their bags, so they can focus on the top tier genuine clients. Very well, I am not even gonna try to get on board. I am glad their style aren't for me either xoxo
Not worth the hassle!
The prices are def crazy now x
What I understand is each country has its own qualifications to get a quota bag. From watching you tube, seems like the U.K. has been more lenient and you just had to create a wish list. In the U.S., it’s always been understood that you need to pre spend. Used to be able to buy 2 quota bags per year. Now it’s only one. So from what you’re describing, seems like Hermes in the U.K. has changed so that it’s more like the other countries.
Yes it sounds like it. I just wish it was more transparent but I guess that’s the point x
@@Wildunfiltered YOU are Too Good for them. 🫶🏾🌟
It’s so true! It’s not going to change my world either way. I just feel frustrated with it all.
Enough is enough x
Your blue Birkin is gorgeous
Thank you so much - it’s a firm favourite x
I think Hermes must have had supply chain issues during the pandemic, coupled with increased demand with the rise in popularity of influencers. They also could see the huge reseller market. These factors caused them to revamp their system.
Agreed x
I will not be treated as a cash cow by any brand. I will not be dictated to by a brand telling me when I can have a handbag, or what colour it might be and then expect me to wait like a good little girl for it to arrive - sometime. I have had over two hundred bags (some now sold), a third of which are classed as very “high end” classic brands and several of those brands I will never purchase from again because they are taking their clients for mugs and two of those brands the service and quality has disappeared out the door! I, for one, am not paying to be treated like “s**t”.
It’s such a shame x
It definitely sounds like you need a new SA.. that said, it is very unusual internationally to not need to spend in other departments in order to access quota bags / SO
Yep it’s time to have a rethink x
What I don’t understand is why they are turning their backs on the money that created their brand. That’s the whole point of luxury is the loyalty but there’s no loyalty anymore.
It’s such a shame
UK folks are very lucky 👍🏻 For countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, pre-spend is required.
It’s seems UK has been very different.
I’d rather give my money to other houses that are more respectful of their clientele.
Agreed x
Why ever would a consumer be held to ransom by the seller….anyone dealing with them are bonkers…by a Launer ..A uk brand made to order and none of this clap trap… as used by The Queen too.
I really need to look at Launer x
Thank you so much for sharing x
Be the one with real class!
thank you so much x
It is time to forget Hermes. I used to go in, look around and try a few scents. Now I am put on a pad and have to wait my turn. My money will not be given to such merchants. Yes, it is time to walk away.
Yes it’s crazy how you have to wait to be seen even if you just want to browse. Chanel and LV have a better system where you only put your name down if you want help. Otherwise you can browse. X
Hermes knows exactly what they’re doing. It’s because people covet things way too much and have fallen into the deceptive trap.
Yep they definitely gain from their strategy!
It shouldn’t be this difficult to buy a bag x
if they’re going this route with allocation from HQ they should really start taking into account customer website purchases to count towards pre-spend. a lot of SAs tell their clients to buy an item online if they see if because store stock can be so low. if it’s not all about the SA relationship / purchasing with the SA now then why not? (I know probably because it’s another hoop for us to jump through). I feel like there’s two tracks to get a QB now - one through an SA you have a relationship with and a new one from HQ allocating bags to maybe make it more “fair” and spread the bags around. but who knows for sure! elusive, as always.
Yep the system is vague and also not consistent x
I never played the Hermès game or any luxury brand game! Absolutely refuse to beg anyone to take my hard earned money, just can’t understand people that do. I won’t wait in line to be told of by a Chanel SA. No bag is worth your time, patience on top of all that money! As much as I love my luxury bags, I love myself more 😉
Love this!
Dior, LV and Fendi customer service is way more enjoyable for the shopper when compared to Chanel and Hermes unfortunately.
Agree x
That sounds like an abusive relationship 😂
You spend thousands with these companies and your sales associate MAKES THEIR MONEY FROM SELLING TO YOU..but treats you like crap?
Ain’t nothing worth that
No ma’am
Totally agree x
I think you were just lucky to have a nice SA who did not care about pre spend etc. Sad they left and did not even inform.
Yep sad times x
