Creating a quick Unreal Engine 4 Night/Lake Scene
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 тра 2015
- Quick scene I put together in Unreal Engine 4. Scene took me less than 3 hours from start to finish.
I did NOT create the actual art assets used in this video, they were made by various artists on the Unreal Marketplace, Epic Games, and TurboSquid.
All music in the video is from Unreal Tournament and Unreal Tournament 2004.
3 hours with ready assets. 3 weeks with making assets on your own :P. Just pointing this out to prevent some people from thinking that creating video games is a piece of cake :). Evilmrfrank did a great job, but people who made assets and engine did it as well.
also point out that in no way in 3 hours you can do a scene like that even if you are granted with all the tools and assets,
its a well skilled individual doing this things, everything is never a piece of cake.
More than 3 weeks my dude xD
And modelling and Level design is just the "easy" thing of creating video games...
still easy as hell
but also keep in mind beginners. if you have ready made assets already like mega scans or marketplace content, you can get this level of quality if you keep trying and learning. hell after a year you'll probably make something even better than this. this guy didn't even create the assets used in this video, not to take away from his skill. with the tools we have in 2021 new comers can achieve great looking stuff like this.
*Music*
0:00 Unreal Tournament 2004 - Level 6
5:18 Unreal Tournament (1999) - Botpack #9
Thanks, man. I really love you for using Unreal Tournament soundtracks! :D
Great video, I can't believe you put this together in only 3 hours :o
Now if only I could visit/live there!
***** no we can, but not now, in somewhere future
Emily Harrison no? VR is developing extremly quickly and nowadays it's even possible!
+Emily Harrison but you Can visit there it's called Get off YOUR ASS in go out side
not gonna lie that house looks cozy asf
I think you would gain subscribers very quickly if you managed to do tutorials; this looks incredible.
I'm New To PC ! Oh Yeah!
I'm New To PC ! Yeah, I did a tutorial on level design and I'm getting several times as many subs as before! Anyone who's interested can find it on my channel.
+dogsofknowledge You have just gained a new subscriber :).
+Bayden Jones Haha I noticed! I haven't done any more tutorials since the first one so I haven't had many more subs recently, though I'm planning to upload a night scene tut soon:)
Great! I am in need of UE4 tutorials as I am only a beginner, but I have tons of great and crazy ideas, and really all I need are tutorials to help achieve it! Have you made a game yet?
I am currently a student at Full Sail U. and You Sir, Mr. Frank, are what I Aspire to be. Hope this makes your day :D
the stuff you can make in unreal engine, IS UNREAL!!!!
**insert massive screen shake here plus michael bay sounds**
Micheil van dem Bos at the end was the icing on the cake
2:06 I really love the music build-up there!
P.S. Great work!
There are certain games that can transport me with how well crafted their level design is...You sir, did just that. I want to just exist in this place you've created. I don't know if you're already in the industry, but you should be, you really know what you're doing. Pure artistry.
Looks straight out of the Witcher 3. Amazing engine. Great work!
man you deserve more than 10K subscribers what you do is amazing thanks for sacrificing your time on making these amazing things :D
This is really amazing work! I can't believe that some people actually thumbed this down! They must be jealous
This inspires me to step up my game for my own engine. Thank your for sharing!
You have some serious talent!
Not just in making the actual scene but the atmosphere of the scene itself, Which is just as important in a game.
Very interesting I must say. I've used UE for many years but never finished a single product because I just go blank or I don't have the assets. But seeing your work flow helps me see my issue; I've always thought that these environments I tried so hard to copy were full blown worlds. But the truth is, they are just setup for the camera shot. Having your "shot" in the corner really makes it easier to visualize the entire scene. I enjoyed this video tremendously, it truly captivates an idea I had.
Good luck on your idea!
In the bottom-right window it should be grasshoppers band playing background music.
That Unreal music at the end. Ah, memories.
Just expressing my thanks for picking some classic music
Bravo, Nicely Done. I'm speechless.
Teach me your ways, oh senpai!

You're an incredible environment artist. Just come across your videos, but damn
this is so beautiful, great work!
The irony of Unreal...
Looks Awesome! I think if the water had more reflection of the light of that big moon and distortion and all that it would be crazy then :P
Would love it if you had tutorial walk throughs
So beautiful. What a talent you are.
Epic! Reminds me of the horror movie with the cabin in the woods haha ;)
This is amazing, like a work of art. Breathing details and imagination. Very inspiring, is cool scene. I can picture it with a wobbly wood boat jetty going into lake. Is amazing
Bob Ross doing this : "A few hundred happy little trees will live right here"
Great job !!! i love watching these videos.
That's pretty beautiful
dude makes it look easy! I hope I can create scenes like this in the near future :)
It is absolutely beautiful!
You made cry a little bit with the UT99 music at the end. By the way, very, very good.
Daniel López That's my fav UT99 track
This is... just... amazing, awesome job dude!
that is so awesome, breathtaking wish i knew how!
Oh, it looks so amazing!
This is surreal brah wtf *hits blunt*
So beautiful! I just switched from Unity to Unreal Engine 4 and I find it a bit overwhelming. Would be grant if you please could do a small screen of every single bit you did in this scene and make it into a tutorial. :)
Again very beautiful. You got yourself a subscriber.
Agreed!
That was so good, but i think the moon is so THICC
Phenomenal work! Makes me want to get back to a whole new scene :D
really cool looking nice jobb
It's very very beautiful
Looks amazing as usual!
This is very well done!! Great job😁
Really nice, the only thing that I found off was the night sky. The full moon would have been to bright to see some of the stars. Amazing scene regardless thanks!
Kaizo4613 Very true but it wouldn't look as cool without the stars/milkyway XD
HAHA yeah fantasy is the best plus later I read the dis and found out it was all stock stuff from store or engine.
This would make a great video wallpaper!
After building my own environment, can I explore it with the oculus rift?
+Michael Torres Yes you can!
+Michael Torres Can you buy one of those yet? How much are they?
+צאַר האָלי Just announced at CES, $600
Major Meteor Yeah I know. There are cheaper versions to buy if you're brave that work similarly and are Oculus compatible. I'm gonna wait for the Sony VR goggles instead though.
Pretty sure they are just for PS4... :/
This is amazing! You definitely have talent! Imagine now a game which has tons of hours of gameplay.. This job ain't easy at all! :)
It looks fkn great buddy!!!!
Breathtaking!
Nice work! I should really do an exercise like this just to practice setting the scene up in Ue4. I spend so much time creating assets I get rusty in the engine :'D
Boy, I have to hire you!!!!!!!!
Welcome to art in the 21st century
this is modern art!
- why r u crying dad ?
- nothing baby ......... i got something in my eyes.
would love a guide on the night sky and the moon, looks amazing
beautiful
:O that looks amazing. Your really good
That is outstanding!
This is sincerely epic.
Where did you get that awesome fog plane from?
Dunkle The fog plane can be found in the Cave Effects demo that Epic games released a while back. It is currently downloadable through the Learn Tab in the Epic Games Launcher
You're like the modern day Bob Ross :D
Looks real great
awesome stuff man,
evilmrfrank This would make an awesome live wallpaper haha.
Wow.. that is amazing!!
shit he can do in three hours it would take me three years to do
How can I connect 2 items? So when I move one the other one is linked to it???
+kamojii ctrl- left click
3 houres, but he has stuff already made. Like the trees, some rocks, the night animation( which takes a lottt of time to make) .... So in general It will take atleast 1 week to make.
amazing work! cheers
5:30 how beautiful
So.. beautiful..
Awesome as always!
This is cool and all, but can we ever expect something like this from the upcoming games? It's hard to imagine a gaming computer rendering this quality for a much larger world..
Everyone should watch thin in 0.25x speed to better realizes all the work into it
impressive, nice work!
Bob Ross in 2015
+Cody Windsor Best way to put it!
Beautiful!
I want a wallpaper version of that now :D
Reynaldo Stufano I'll try and get one uploaded :)
Unreal Tournament Fan
My Man ;)
best game ever
Yeah but this isn't UT, it is the tool used to make it.
yeah , I realized that after I commented here
Unreal Engine 4 is really strong
+Matthew BPbuds , also I was commenting about the Music of the video
read the description
The Witcher 3 just got rekt.
GamingRanger When they started making Witcher 3 Unreal Engine 4 didn't even exist, so It's obviously going to have better graphics.
Lucas Chudzij What if i told you that engine almost doesnt matter when it comes to graphics? Its all up to artist what level of realism he wants to achieve. Every engine with PBR is enough for now
lMicakil Engine with Pabst Blue Ribbon? Sign me up!
lMicakil w00t? Opimization, SL, available effects, rendering mode, etc etc. And as result we have: what we can bring to scene, how much of it, how good it will look. So stop saying bullshit.
yrussq all of things you mentioned are still up to an artist. Think about engine as rules of phisics, as long as values are realistic (lets say for shaders you need to use appropriate values for glossiness, spec etc to make the material simulate as in real world) the result is ok. Of course you can expand and create new rules for lets say enhanced physics etc. But every studio needs to built engine almost from scratch and ue 4,cryengine or others are just a "base" for it. All premade assets in engine are there for indie creator or smaller users. They are not used in production.(but there are exeption) I see you dont have much experience with digital art, but every good 3d artist is able to create scene that is hard to recognise if its real or not (at least for people who dont intrest in that kind of stuff). Its still a long road till we achieve real time photon simulation that is close to real or at least to vray, octane, renderman and others. We can talk about this as long as you wont call my words bullshit.Dont be rude
That's unreal!
Amazing work!!! :)
Blizzard .. this is what we wanted for world of warcraft !
+Hugo Fernandes They are working on a new engine for wow 2 but u didn't hear that from me
That is cool man
This is so awesome
Wow, that looks really similar to the world editor for c&c generals.
That is really nice. I have no art skills :(
Man, this is inspiring D: Thank you!
Awesome mate !
You need to make some tutorials ! That's juste awesome !
Great work .thanks
nice job bro, i respect you
This is Unreal! ;)
wtf i love this maps
Keep them going!!
If that was a real place, I would live there.
That was dope.
GOOD JOB! LOVE IT!
im still learning how to change the bp preset sky sphere ....sigh
