In the comic I am doing right now “Parallel Passings”, we have three people in our team too. However our work flow is completely different. All three of us will contribute to the script (though a majority is written by our writer), until we are happy with what we have. Then me and the other artist will draft the episode (including compositions, typesetting, etc). Once we finish that we start work on creating the actual episode, splitting our work in half. As I do characters and the other artist does backgrounds, then splitting the rest of jobs evenly. We are currently teaching our writer how to flat colors too as it is easy but time consuming. So really the amount of work is not staggered like the “Just pancakes” authors. Its a mishmash of everything ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ
Just Pancakes is such a wacky fun series, i half expected the creators to be that way too lol. they're so chill. I can't imagine working with another person on a comic, much less two others. thank you!

Thanks for the great advice! I'm collaborating with my best friend on the webtoon, Immortal Affairs. She writes the scripts and I draw it out so its nice to see some pointers to help us along lol

The skill I bring to the table is writing and every time i get an offer, I am expected to get the whole story thing done on my own, giving the finished product to the illustrator who will then work on characters, context and traits which I am supposed to come up with to guide him through it. And it's so daunting that I've always given up in the process.

Regarding Creators 101 and Comic Cons, is it ABSOLUTELY necessary for you as a creator to show up to these types of events? I'm just trying to make comics, not bathe in the spotlight.
No. Like any artist / writer / scenarist, you can chose to go to bookfairs / events but you don't have to. If you don't have a particular problem with socializing, I would recommend at least going to a few though (don't worry, there won't be much of a spotlight for people who aren't very big names) just because it's often your only opportunity to meet other creators IRL. It can be the start of new projects (you might feel like you want to work alone for now, but it can be an opportunity to branch towards things you wouldn't have done by yourself), learn things to improve what you do and how you promote it, see how much other people make and from where, and it's just fun in general (when you work in this kind of industry for a long time you can end up feeling a bit isolated so meeting other people you can relate to is nice). From a creator's perspective, these kind of meetings aren't actually about the public / fans who show up. I mean, it's nice seeing people who like your work or getting new readers, but you generally spend more time speaking to the creators sitting next to you and having meals with them than signing books or pieces of paper for people you probably won't talk to for more than 5 mn. With the covid, this year was of course kinda empty in the event department, but I generally do 3 to 5 a year, depending on who will be there, where it takes place and what are the conditions of the invitation (if the food is very good, chances are I'll go ^^).

Just remember as long as the art is decent and the story is compelling. You'll be fine. Remember AOT had DECENT artwork not great!
