    Hi. Some notes from my side. 1. You shouldn't separate object into 2, because you are disabling glossy rays for both. Just uncheck Glossy from the original object and the result will be the same. 2. Specular doesn't work for the metal material, so there is no sense to change it. 3. Changing roughness using Fresnel is not physically accurate and there are should be another methods for darkening edges on an object. For example use the same approach for changing base color of the material. The material itself is actually not a chrome. Chrome has #8C8B91 color and 0.1 roughness.

    Could you show what you did previously to get the mesh ready...? Like I’m. It getting a plain white background for it to reflect against.

    Why is your HDRI a JPG in the download? You're completely defeating the purpose of using a HDRI since JPGs don't store high dynamic range.

      You don't always need a HDRI, depends on the purpose and the performance needed.

      The thing is you want to separate the material to avoid self reflections.
