Charles is super into the Halloween spirit, so he decided to remove all his normal makeup and show his true face.
It feels good to just be me ☺
@@CharlesBerthoud , to find out what you are from the inside out? 🤣
I thought when he removes his makeout he looks like davie503?
@@CharlesBerthoud
But you also need to wear black gloves. Clawed! 😲
Sleep=not
I know that Corey loved fan stuff like this so I definitely think he’ll get a kick out of this, great job as always man
That would be cool!
Cory's gonna be like "this guy should be our new bass player" Charles kills it every single time :)
Benar sobat
I would love to hear what Corey Taylor thinks
@@MrDmadness nah probably he would say: "fuck this fucking guy should fucking be our new fucking bass player"
I can honestly say I have never heard the base played like that. Amazing!!!!
clearly you cant spell 'bass' as well lol (im so sorry this is so mean)
@@donuttttttt it isnt mean, it is deserved
Agree, totally!
*_BASED_*
I can honestly say that I have never seen the word BASS* spelled like that.
I feel like the word "incredible" doesn't do this justice... this is absolutely insane. Amazing work!
I'm gonna need you to do a full version of Duality please! This is just too good to only do 60 seconds.
@Krisztian Tolna I've been getting stuff like that kinda often and I figured they were a scam or something haha. Thanks for the heads up!
@Krisztian Tolna don't forget to smash that "report" button
You don’t need SlipNot, just let your own sole flow. That SHIT SOUNDS FLIPPING CRAZY AWESOME NEVER LET ANYONE ELSE TELL YOU DIFFERENT 🥷👍😎🫵🤍🥷
@Krisztian Tolna you are such a genius
it was Psychosocial you frickin
I still amazes me that a person with a normal complement of fingers can play so many notes so fast and accurately when I can barely play a jaw harp with one finger. Just freaking blows my mind.
Lol I know but that was not one take XD
@The Paradox Destroyer nah its all practice, talent comes from practice. Anyone could get this good imo it's just about putting in the hours. Also not knocking cause he is fucking amazing
@@dillanreese4859 Yeah, no. Inherent talent is critical to truly excel in art, music, and sports. Just as inherent intellect is required for certain professions.
Dude, you can play the jaw harp? So jealous. I accidentally ate mine.
@@dillanreese4859 There is such a thing as innate talent. Some people just pick up things easily. Practice develops that talent into greatness.
And that, kids, is how Les Claypool failed his audition for Metallica.
😂
I swear that was my same thought.
Overqualified
That harmonic bend gets me every time, love it!
Dude mind blown. This is seriously the best bass playing I've ever seen
I think the same.. wow...
Agreed. Difficult to even wrap my head around what I just saw. Never expected anyone could play bass like that.
A reassurance over and over again that the famous players are not necessarily even in the same universe as the best players.
@@evankeal You are right, so many hidden gems out there. Many more still who can't afford the necessary equipment or who are unguided.
Try rush , Primus , Casiopea
This man never fails to amaze
Every video is basically money in the bank, never fails
The man never amazes to fail
Yep. I think I've seen 2 videos that didn't make me wish I was wearing white and/or brown pants. And they weren't bad, or disappointing, just not in my wheels. Also, I believe both were chosen by popular vote, and we all know how that can be...
"... and I'm joe Biden's husband.," said President Joe Biden, immediately after his wife had introduced herself
Dude you killed it. Truly showcasing how awesome a bass can be.
its been a year and i still cant get over how insanely good this is. i hate it.❤
Ive never heard a bass sound like a keyboard, im actually stunned.
Stay stunned for more videos! 🤘😍
He played piano before playing bass as I'm aware you already know but yeah you're right it's incredible how he plays bass.
i just realized its a bass. god damn it.
@@robieboi1847 You weren't far off originally. It's piccolo bass, meaning it's tuned to the same setting as guitar (an octave higher).
You do know that was several tracks played at the same time? Not all the sounds were coming from that bass, and I’m not just referring to the drum track.
An absolute genius.
I call myself a bassist but I may as well have cinder blocks tied to my fingers and a thimble to hold my musical intuition with how I feel after watching this.
Incredible.
Exactly how I felt, glad I wasn’t alone
No point to compare yourself to other players. Just do you. You have a whole life to learn more and play.
cut and paste your comment for my own lol.
As "People of the low end" - We seldom ever 'get permission' to play anything other than the root note, which makes many feel that defines our roles. However, it's more than accepted in our 6 string brothers [guitar] that there are different roles: Lead / Rhythm Guitarists. There are such bassist's as well, Charles / Davie 504 / Flea from RHCP / Les Claypool from Primus - to give but a few examples of lead bassists. The thing is, you only become aware of this after experiencing one of these players - which then inspires us and opens our mind to this very realisation: Wait... *We can do that!?*. My friend, take your inspiration where-ever you can, and explore both your bass lines and your compositional skills in 'adding texture' [alongside the groove/pocket of what is needed] - all in all: keep learning different ways to be able to communicate through music on your given instrument. It helps unlock more inside you as a musician - not just an instrumentalist. Hope this advice finds you [and other aspiring bassists] well! Cariad fawr o Gymru - Much love from Wales x
You can relate to this even as a guitarrist.
Thats my all time favourite bass track❤❤
Good lord Charles, just take all my years of playing and listening to Slipknot, throw it in a 60sec video and set me on fire 🔥 wtf just happened
Hahaa and then some, wtf🎶🤔👍

Professional musician
@@carpediemarts705 no Bro... I know and worked with a lot of professional musicians...
This guys is something else... Completely out of the curve...
This comment gave me cummypants
Really nice and multi-dimensional cover, especially with the harmony and percussive work man! Perfection at its finest!
Perfection is never NOT at it's finest. 😂
Kickass bro!!!
That's unreal.... Probably some of the best bass playing I've seen/heard. Fr. Keep it up.
This sounds like you accidentally scheduled your slipknot audition and Polyphia audition at the same time and just went with it and I love it
polyphia do not deserve him
I’d be curious to see what polyphia could do with him… but he doesn’t fit into their lineup very well. Might be better to do something sick with Steve Vai.
@@inaramueller8331 playing wise, charles is spot on for polyphia. Vibe wise not so much
Almost exactly what I was thinking, lol.
PolyKnot
No bro… you have to do the full version now, you cannot leave us hanging with only 60 seconds of this… me and another 50k fans demand it xD
For sure. Would love to see it all.
UP!
ummmmmmmmm... yeaaa that shyt was bonkers. we need this asap.
i need full version too, amazing sound
This is the comment coming from my subconscious 🔥👍🏼😂 Come on Charles!!
This was extremely beautiful and amazing. Well done. ❤❤❤❤
Bravo. Absolutely stunning.
His ability to compose is seriously as impressive as his playing ability…
Fr many shredders kinda lack musicality
He is amazing at both
@@krzysztofchmara794 Yep, and I’m not a bassist, but I’d imagine the more limited range of a bass (compared to a guitar, piano etc) would make it even harder to compose on.
I agree
The question is, how many takes did it take to get this one minute video? Lol
You do recognise that it was not an original composition but he just played more notes over original Slipknot songs? I'm not saying it wasn't executed very well, but how does this make him an outstanding composer?
When you think there’s too much madness in his playing, Charles comes back and raise the level
Amazing chops brother.🥁😎🥁
Good job man!
Yes this sounded awesome you even “squeed” at the end and fun fact I actually once worked for a moving company and the house we were moving the family into was this huge house and everything was totally normal (the house was huge and old btw) but the basement was crazy there was like a hog trough and spray painted stuff all over the walls all sorts of craziness and the guy was like oh yeah this house used to belong to some local band call “Slipknot” and I was like WTF R U SERIOUS?!! It is now my icebreaker story and I always tell it to people, life is crazy!
That'd be so cool for the kids moving in if they were into Slipknot! I know I'd be pretty stoked to find that out
Kickass! I live in Moline and wish more popular acts would rise from the midwest. Lots of talent out there.
That noise is called a pinch harmonic just in case anyone was wondering!
@@Typical.Anomaly I'm going to be soon I gotchu
Absolute respect. Been playing base for 20 years and I can’t do 1/10 of what this young man is doing
playing bass for 20 years and cant spell bass right
All your base are belong to us
thats great and all but.
what did you win?
A good base is the base of good song
@@ItzFugue I mean, it is a bassist we're talking about.
Awesome , Chuck !
Amazed on each vid!
Wow! Loved it!
I have no words, Charles and his bass definitely inhabited the spirit of SLIPKNOT
YES!
Nothing screams the simple, catchy, and angry musical styling of Slipknot like self indulgent jazz bass playing 😂
Charles is an incredible player though, let's not mince words there!
Yes, Charles truly is amazing, but with being great and amazing comes a lot of practice.
Incredible bassist. My jaw drops every time I watch one of your videos.
That was awesome, Charles!
Absolutely mesmerizing. Bravo.
That harmonic thing at 0:18 is deadly. 🤘🏼
Dude. What. Unbelievable. It's like I keep waiting to get used to standing before bass divinity, but you never get used to it. Every hot bubble bath of thunderous sub-frequencies is like the first time. I can't stop listening to this.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Truly blown away
Thank you for sharing - this is genius level!
We need a full album of slipknot greatest hits done like this!
YES PLEASE
Agreed
FUCK YEAH
Charles then got accepted into the band and thus Slapknot was born.
This is crazy.... love it
You the man, Chuck
when are we gonna get a full 3 minute version of this. This sounds sooo fucking good
You never fail to amaze man. Unbelievably talented, and unbelievably imaginative
Nicely done!
Awesome dude
I don’t usually comment on UA-cam but I hope you see this one. That was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen on the World Wide Web. I’m at a loss for words. Just epic.
Thank you!
I thought this was a joke........who the hell is this fellow......bloody prodigy mam
This is legitimately beyond my current understanding of music. I know there's stuff going on. I know he's doing this with his fingers. I know. But all I do is feel it. I look at him playing and it seems like there's seven Charles playing to my ear.
Incredible, as always. You're both the reason I picked up the bass and I gave up on it lmao
"you are both the reason I picked up a bass and gave up on it"
🤣👏🎉
It's not too mathematically complicated (basically just messing with intervals and melodic phrases), but the way it's extremely elegant, rapid-fire and intuitively composed and played is what makes it genius-level.
@@manictiger I never implied it was, I don't hear anything musically shocking, but the way it's played and sounds is insane to me.
So talented. Salute.
That's some wicked bass playing. So good.
wow.... you need to do a full cover! that was 1000% DOPE!
HOLY HECK DO A FULL COVER!
That's not an audition, that's intimidation.
this is insane!!!! hats off to ya brother!
The best slipknot song with one of the best B players! Go Charles!
Wooow amazing sound ! Great job !❤🎉
man this was pretty sick! cheers from Brazil!
I expected this to be great but it managed to be 10 times better than my expectations
I've been spoiled by Ichika Nito and Polyphia, so I was expecting something like this. Still sounds like heaven, though.
I think Slipknot never sounded quite as nice as this. Always incredible! Congrats!
No slippin here waaw
And it takes like 4-5 instruments and players for what this guy does alone on a bass! Blown away
I totally agree. This is more of early Jazz Slipknot than what they are now.
Jazz Slipknot? Listen to some of the tracks from MFKR.
Playing so effortlessly 😮🤩
Fully impressed.that was off the chain!
I do believe he is one of the best bassists in the world. No lie.
Agreed. I've never heard anything like that before and I've been around for a bit.
I'm beginning to think the same. He's like a robot!
He edited two clips together =/
Dude, that was insane! The arpeggios were so fast so clean so tight so mental it sounded like a guitar pro midi track. I mean that in the best possible way!
Exactly! Sounded nothing like a bass!
This was incredible!
Sick, man!
This might be the best instrumental video I've ever seen/heard. Unbelievable skill level on the instrument combined with a superb rendition of an already great song.
Because he probably actually played/recorded 3 seconds at a time and comped it all together
I swear you are rewriting the book on what could/should be done with a bass! Simply amazing!
Thats really so cool man ❤
Awesome job
I honestly wish that the band Slipknot could hear this and see their reaction because this is honestly is a masterpiece. You literally nailed every note including the singing and that's not an easy thing to do. Very well done, you got a new sub!
I wouldn't be surprised if they've seen it.
Damn man keep rockin!!!!
Wow that was amazing brother!
I dont think ive ever seen a bass played like that. Amazing!
Really? Never? Do you ever watch bassists?
@@MichaelGrubbEvolvedMinistry This passive aggressive, sarcasm fueled comment does not embody this statement bud "Dedicated to Unconditional LOVE, Self Mastery, and the act of servicing the whole." Have a great day!
Amazing slapp & taps, I felt a little sitar kind of sound at the beginning and that was really amazing. Well played Charles.
Very well done! You are a great music!
Pretty epic my friend!!
Playing the main riff, bassline and vocal melody at the same time, I love it
I’ve watched this video a lot. I just keep coming back to it anytime I’m on UA-cam. This is truly one of the most incredible demonstrations of mastery of an instrument I’ve ever seen. Thank you for making this
Your an incredible musician bro never cease to amaze
Really talented!
I’ve been working on trying to learn the bass line for Duality for the last couple of weeks. Watching this I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. Amazing job.
I'm doing both just watching this !
Dude I want a whole playthrough like this lol, that was sick!
Unbelievable. Amazing!
Nice work bro🤘
Please release a full recording of this. I want to blast it it in my studio monitors. This one really blows my mind. Your playing and creativity are such a joy to watch and listen to.
Now I want to see a full version! It's absolutely mind blowing!!!
This is amazing
Man you're too good gor youtube and i hope you get the recognition you truly deserve. Youre so modest too like ya deserve only the best.
Charles, there isn't a band out there that's worthy of your talent.
You totally just rock!
I'm dying to see Charles go full djent groove. This wasn't it just yet! Amazing job as always.
Let's see some bulb covers
sounds like if slipknot had a video game back in the 80s on an arcade machine this would be the background music
This is something, even for Charles. Definitely some head bobbing to this.
Your recent lessons are paying off, Charles. You getting so much better.
It’s so good!
insane skill! cheers
That was actually awesome, sounds like Animals as Leaders but it's Slipknot. Simply astounding.
Dude you are one of my favorite musicians. You never cease to amaze me with your originality and pure talent
That first slap riff in the verse is unreal. Do the whole song.
first time seeing your videos, awsome vid bro your an absolute animal!!!!!
